^Sis,  sobra naman atang pagtitipid kung pati 1 gallon of water dadalhin nyo dito sa SG. 

A gallon of water is SGD2 (PHP70).  And there's a high risk that the water will burst and you can get all your things wet.  Instead of bringing in water, just bring snacks para makatipid kayo like ensaymada or biscuits that you can eat while roaming around as mahal ang snacks dito while water is just priced fine.

^In watsons you can get water for 2 for $1.50, in fairprice mas mura.  Also, your hotel must have water if you're staying at YMCA.

just got back from sg. I love our stay at the tower 1 of mbs hotel. we met some pinoy wait staff at the 57th floor (where the infinity pool, cafe and kudeta bar is). went shopping at the mbs shoppes (lv, zara, Tommy Hilfiger, banana republic). Bought gadgets at it expo at the mbs convention center. hubby also bought a pair of Nike basketball shoes at paragon. mas cheaper sana at takashimaya but wala dun ang gusto ni hubby. Shopped at h&m too and may inaaway akong batang Malay personnel dun sa men's fitting room as he discriminated us when he heard us talking in Tagalog. before transferring pala from Novotel Clarke quay to mbs hotel, we went to lbc at lucky plaza and had the items we bought from ikea shipped. we also went to crate and barrel at ion orchard but wala akong nagustuhan. then on our last day, after getting our gst refund at the departure transit area, we spent our last sgd buying perfume at dfs.

btw, someone deliberately left two luggages at the check-in area near dhl in T2. when the airport police opened the smaller luggage, walang laman. but the bigger one, naka combination lock at mabigat. Tinginan kaming lahat na mga nakaupo dun. ano yun scary tactic? Joke? wala na kaming nabalitaan after the police took the luggage with them. pero bakit kaya wala man lang bomb-sniffing dog dun? hmm

Andito kami SG ngayon. Ang init katamad gumala. Kahapon USS and sentosa kami. Wala masyado tao. Walang queue. Pero kaasar kasi sarado yung transformers 4D. Kagabi umikot kami Chinatown bili ng pasalubong. Today sa may esplanade kami punta. I don't know where to go na. Natatamad kami mag botanical gardens and di feel ng mom ko magpunta sa zoo. Parang mas gusto ko sa Kuala Lumpur. Ang sad kasi dito. Ang konti ng tao, lawak ng space. Wala rin masyado makita. Everyone's busy and in a hurry. Hehe. San ba maganda bumili chocolates pasalubong? Dito or KL na? Punta kami KL tomorrow.

Hindi ata pwedeng close ang transformers pag punta ko. Yun ang ipupunta ko sa uss. Magrereklamo ata ako ng todo kung close yun.

We're going there this October. Still looking for cheap but decent accommodations. Anyone who has tried airbnb rentals in SG? Mas mura kasi rate ng postings dun (with respect to room size/amenities) kesa sa hotels eh.

@burberi, there are lots of places to go to. ako i love shopping so i like going to the malls: bugis junction, wisma atria, paragon, takashimaya, ngee anh city, tang's, andami talaga sa orchard road and of course, the shoppes at marina bay sands. try mo rin mag night-out sa mga bars sa clarke quay. andaming expats. maybe you want to try the bungee jumping (i forgot how they call it) at clarke quay if you're adventurous enough. at this time medyo tolerable na ang init dun so you may want to check out the gardens by the bay and the enchanted forest in marina.

when we went to uss, yung battlestar galactica ang wala. konting pila lang kaya napakag rides agad kami. enjoy talaga kami sa transformers and the mummy. sakit nga sa puso e kasi parang nag roller coaster lang kami sa loob. sakit sa puso rin ang canopy walk sa jurassic park

^I think the shopping experience is different especially for those who are heavy shoppers. 

I said so because the selection here are wide.  My friend who just bought a polo shirt from Topman in Orchard told me that he actually does not shop in topman in Manila simply because when he enters the shop, there's nothing that interests him, but when he went to orchard branch, the selections are interesting to him and the same polo he bought was not in Manila branch.

So I guess even if the brand exist in Manila, but simply because the selection is wider here and a lot of times cheaper that's why SG is a shopper's haven.

Pardon if this is OT:
On the side of people living in SG (like me!), i find these brands rather "regular", which is not cheap but not expensive either.  This is because our salary is relative to the cost of living here in SG.  This being said, my current salary and the prices in let's say, Topshop, cotton on (very cheap!) and mango is just average priced for us (modesty aside)

If a person working in SG's allowance is around S$1,000 then one can afford a S$59 dress in mango.

^for every country whether it's third world or part of G8, the salary is relative to the cost of living, and of course, the most relevant of all, cost of living vis a vis taxes. that's basic Econ 101. that's why even most ethnic Singaporeans, though managers and directors in their respective fields, still live in hdb flats since it's more affordable than living in a private condominium - housing loan and other mortgages being considered. Well, one should also consider that Singapore eased out Japan in the number 1 position as the most expensive city in 2014 per cnn report. no wonder my relatives who are permanent residents there (being professionals - architects, CPA lawyer, and directors) and earning approximately 6k sgd - 18k sgd a month, are still complaining of prohibitive taxes via a vis quality of life. (having said this, I miss practicing as tax accountant since it's tax season now)

as I what I told (in halting mandarin since my native tongue is fookien/hokkien being chinoy) that arrogant and discriminating Chinese lady cleaner of the toilet near F33 at terminal 2 in changi airport, "don't think so highly of yourself. you will still be a cleaning lady wherever you are. so don't think you're better than anyone else".

^^Hi sis,  I am not sure what your post actually meant in reference to my comment (most especially the discriminating chinese in F33 terminal 2 telling others that they think highly of themselves).  Please don't think of my previous comment as degrading any filipinos or me being too boastful that I "can" afford these brands. 

I am just telling that regular employees here in SG can afford these brands because of the salary that we are earning (I am not boasting).  Even those who are modestly working can take cotton on, uniqlo as regular priced.  This is the reason why the shopping selection is broader and varied, because regular shoppers can afford them and these brands can easily stock up and sell easily. 

If you find my comment above too offensive, i'd gladly remove it.

AFAIK, illegal ang airbnb here since hindi pwede ang transient here by law

burberi, you're the first person na narinigan ko na 'nabore' dito.. madaming pwedeng puntahan dito depende lang sa trip ninyo..

cindylulu, hindi uso ang mga K9 dogs here unlike in MNL... I'm sorry about your discrimination experiences here, medyo mainit kasi ang dugo ng mga locals nowadays with foreigners because of immigration issues  I've also had a number of experience with these kind of people, even my kids sometimes aren't spared  and pasintabi lang but bastos karamihan ng mga Malays

^^Makansutra is not a restaurant sis... Honestly I won't recommend Makansutra medyo nag drop ang standard ng food nila. Mas ok sa Lau Pa Sat. It's near Esplanade lang din...

For those who are planning to go here na medyo may respiratory problems, better think twice before travelling.. Haze is back and we received news that it'll be back earlier this time and it'll be much worse. Bring a N95 mask to be sure.

Also, I just got back from KL few days ago naman and there's also haze there, which is much worse, there's even a dengue epidemic going on Good thing it was a business trip and I didn't travel with family.
