Hi girls I came back from my recent SG 3 day solo trip.
- plane ticket is FREE (c/o Citibank international roundtrip ticket promo last year)
- just 24 euros for my hostel (c/o Airbnb-BPI tie up $25 discount promo)
- sgd250 pocket money (I prepaid for my universal studios ticket before my trip).
I used my sgd250 pocket money for the 3 day sg tourist pass, sg zoo, songs of the sea, skyride and luge tickets AND FOOD. Take note may naiuwi pa ko sgd50, di naman ako nag tipid sa pagkain. Haha wala lang talaga ako shopping.
I bought all my tickets from Travel Delight! Please please buy their USS meal vouchers. sgd10 worth of food only for sgd5. No minimum purchase required. But yung $5 retail voucher nila, there has to be $30 minimum purchase first.
Napakadali ng train system ng SG! I never got lost. Compared sa HK na super dami exits to take note of. Mas madami nga lang walkators sa HK.
Pleasant and no language barrier sa mga locals.
Unlike sa HK na very dense city, sa SG chinatown lang ata ako nakaexperience ng di mahulugang karayom crowd talaga. Napakadami din Indians and less smelly mga tao dito compared sa HK. Tagal din ng sunset dito.
Sa chinatown, wag muna kayo bibili sa first 3 stalls upon mrt exit. Isang keychain kasi dito sgd4. You would find cheaper deals as you move farther. Yung nabili ko 3 merlion with initials keychain for sgd5, ref magnet for sgd2, Sg tote bag sgd4. Meron pa nga 36 keychains for sgd10 kung isang baranggay papasalubungan mo lol. Quality souvenirs naman mga nandito.
Masarap yung Tian tian Chicken rice. I made sure talaga na makakain dito. Yung maxwell food centre lampas pa pala nung Chinatown complex and yung temple. Dito kasi ako nahirapan. sgd3.50 lang yung meal, mabilis naman yung queue, line up first for taking orders, another line for getting your meal. Closed sila every Mondays.
Other notable eats: Din Tai Fung @ 313 Somerset (medyo nadisappoint ako sa xiao long bao, parang shi lin lang dito sa pinas), Laduree macarons (First time ko to matikman, masarap yung Salted caramel!), Merlion ice cream wafer (sarap nung Ripple flavor), Ben and Jerrys (first time din, mas ok bumili nito sa USS kasi free yung wafer cone dun, sa SG zoo kasi may additional, 1 scoop is big enough)
Nakakapagod pala yung Chinatown+Orchard+Merlion Park walkathon. Sakit ng katawan inabot ko. Hanggang Marina bay shoppes lang ako, di ko na kinaya tanawin yung Supertree grove.
USS-Parang naliitan ako dito compared to HK disneyland. 10am-2pm tapos ko na mga major rides. Awestruck sa Rockafellas, tuwang tuwa mga Aussies sa kanila. Grabe roller coaster mga yung Mummy! Naloka ako! Pero iba pa din level ng Disneyland. I have sgd40 worth of USS meal vouhers from Travel Delight. I had my lunch sa Mels Diner, under sgd15 lang mga burger meals.
Just take the sentosa boardwalk upon entry para sgd1 lang kasi free naman yung sentosa express upon exit.
Grabe nasa tuktok pala ng Imbiah Outlook yung Luge and Skyride. As in 4 or 5 escalators siguro yun.
Malayo nga SG zoo sa city. Nasa AMK Hub yung boarding area for BUS 138 for zoo. You have to take the underpass. Nasa dulo din yung boarding area. Di ko rin to namaximize. I actually left after the Splash Safari show kasi sakit na talaga ng legs ko. Mas maganda yung sea lion show sa HK ocean park. Medyo nadisappoint lang ako kasi di ko talaga nakita yung mga animals siguro dahil sobrang laki nung area? I was expecting kasi na within my sight yung mga animals pero puro trees lang nakita ko. Natuwa lang ako sa white tiger! Yung kangaroo, I was expecting yung nakikita ko sa natgeo sa Australia, yung nghhop, pero ibang klase yung kangaroo na nandun. Large part of the zoo is I think dedicated for the primates which hindi ko naman ipinunta dun. Pati Polar bear di ko rin nakita
For pasalubong, I just bought Teh Tarik tea sa fairprice. 15 sachets for nearly sgd6. Unfortunately, my 2 bottles of Kaya jam were thrown to bin by the Security. Mahigpit sila sa LAGs.
I stayed nga pala sa Hostel Lah. Good rating sa tripadvisor, Ikea facilities but I dont recommend this hostel kasi 10 min walk from MRT. Bloopers pa kasi nakarating ako sa crematorium looking for this hostel. Sabi kasi 2nd floor. I kept looking for a way up til I rode the elevator next to it, ibang establishment na pala yun lol.
Overall, I enjoyed my SG trip. Pero parang mas type ko vibe ng HK. Parang seryoso masyado ang SG eh.
