Hi mga sis, next week na flight ko, I have few questions:

1. Kasya na ba 10k pesos for food? 3d2n lang naman ako. I want to taste Maxwell's Tian tian, $1 ice cream, makansutra/vivo city foodcourt on City tour day 1; nanyang cafe, din tai fung on USS day 2 and Tim Ho wan, Ben & jerry ice cream on Sg zoo day 3.

I plan to prepay my meal vouchers from Travel Delight for my USS day 2 and use them in din tai fung. It's $5 for $10 worth of meal inside USS. Is $30 ($15 voucher) enough for one meal?

2. Totoo ba yung sinasabi ng hotel hosts na safe to drink naman tap water sa Sg? Or better to buy pa din sa groceries?

3. Yung pandas ba sa river safari lang makikita? Wala sa sg zoo? Sad naman eto kasi Hindi ko nakita sa hk.

4. Free ba yung amazon river boat ride kahit SG zoo ticket holder ka lang? Or need ok pa din mag purchase ng River safari ticket para makasakay sa boat? Mabilis ba Mapuno yung reservation for boat ride? Say 8am pa lang nandun na ko sa area.

^1.  Kasyang kasya ang Php10k kung for food lang.  If based on prevailing remittance rate, that's Php34.8 = S$ so that's S$95 a day.  Sapat na sha unless fine dining ka which is S$50 and above normally ang price.  Pinakamahal na meal sa hawker is around S$15 which has drinks na.

2.  Yes.  Its safe to drink tap water here in SG.  Depende lang sa tubo ng hotel mo.  But to be safe especially kung sensitive ang tyan, buy in watsons or guardian.  Around S$1 - 1.50 ang bottled water.

3.  Sa river safari lang nakikita ang mga pandas.  Pero always fully booked ang boat ride, although you can still see the pandas without the boat ride pero sayang naman.  You really have to book in advance.

4.  You can select 4 in 1 park hopper (4 parks, river safari, singapore zoo, jurong birdpark, night safari).  But if you can only do three, then do the 3 in 1 or 2 in 1.  But if your ticket is only for SG zoo, hindi kasama ang any other parks.

Fear ko kasi I combine sg zoo and orchard rd on my day 3, Baka malate ako sa flight ko pabalik 5:40 pm.

^Sis, kahit nga Php2k lang per day ok na.  Kung hawker plus makansutra ka lang. 

Kayang kaya ang chinatown, orchard road ng 9AM buong araw, you can throw in IKEA pa.

don't combine sg zoo and orchard road on day three.  SG zoo lang then you need to leave the zoo around 1PM to collect your things sa hotel para 3pm nasa airport ka na as mas maganda na maaga rin sa airport in case mahaba ang pila mo sa check in.

@cinnam: prepare for a long queue sa tim ho wan and din tai fung. Sa Tim Ho Wan, we arrived mga 11:30 and almost 1pm na kami nakapasok. When we went out siguro mga after 45 mins, yung nasa dulo nung papasok kami eh malapit palang pumasok. Sa DTF naman, yung napuntahan namin eh before 11:30 wala pa pila. Pero mga 15 mins after dagsa bigla tao then may pila na by 12.

cinnam, are you alone? for DTF, expect to spend at least $20 for food. The xiao long pao is $6.80 for 6pcs, $9.90 for 10pcs. Noodle soups are around $7-9.90 per bowl... For Tim Ho Wan, expect to spend around the same figure but depends if you're going to order 4 or more dim sum. And just a tip... For DTF, better to go to their branch at Somerset and Paragon, their food there is consistent. Not all branches are the same, like for example the one at Wisma is very inconsistent  The one at Shoppes at MBS is okay but if you're going there for lunch better to go there before 11:30 to avoid the lunch crowd. Same with Tian Tian at Maxwell, you have to be there by 11 ish Sa Tim Ho Wan naman be there before 11 if you're going first thing in the morning at their Plaza Singapura branch... In the afternoon, there's not much queue from 3:30-5pm 

And doing Chinatown, Orchard and city tour is doable as long as you are used to walking A LOT. But prepare to have a back up plan just in case it rains as it's been raining a lot here (again...) for the past 2 days

Hi! It will be my first time to go to SG together with my bf and parents. I already have a tentative booking with PINE Hostel by Just Inn at Lavander St., We got the family room with private bathroom for only $S 265 for 2 nights. Is that reasonable already? Or do you have any other suggestions for the same price range? Maganda kasi review that's why I chose it.Although very basic lang talaga yung room. Wala din TV. Anyway, I have other questions pa if anyone can provide answers it would be of great help to us:

1.) Where can I exchange PHP to SGD? Dito ba satin meron? Or sa SG na lang ? Saan dun specifically?
2.) Mas economical ba mag tourist pass or ezlink?
3.) Best place to eat hawker food?
4.) Please suggest just one nice place to eat dinner during our second night.
5.) We want to go to SG Zoo, USS, Sentosa, Marina Bay, Gardens by the Bay, Botanical Garden, Chinatown and Orchard Rd Malls. Doable ba in 3 days? 9am dating naming and 540 flight back.
6. Anong items ang mura sa SG at mahal sa atin na puwede kong bilihin? Just to cut short our mall hopping para specific na. It can be make-up, bags, gadgets etc

^ this month ka ba punta? baka may abutan ka pa na sale. Mga 20 to 30sgd pants & clothes sa Cotton On, Stadivarius, Bershka, Pull and Bear, etc. mas mura compared sa Manila. Gadgets din! basta kuha ka ng pang-GST refund.

We ate at DTF Wisma and no queue at that time. we spent about $70 for the 4 of us.

Mostly cheaper than Manila but Stradivarius is not Zara sale is almost similar price sa Manila lang but the selection is different. Madaming sale when we were there (end of December).

River Safari is super worth it, we enjoyed this the most kasi when we were in USS, super daming tao. We had to line up 2 hours for the Transformers ride.

Food wise, kaya nga $5-7 per meal is sa hawker or food court ka lang.

We used our food voucher sa USS and just ad to pay extra for the drinks, ok naman.

If you are looking for a budget hotel near an MRT station, I suggest Soluxe Inn. There is also free pick up service to Universal Studios Singapore every morning.

thanks for the reply. kakabasa ko dito nagbook na lang kami sa YMCA through asiatravel. I need help with our itinerary, hilong hilo na kasi ako kakabasa dito, lol. ganto kasi sked namin:

1st day: Sunday expected time of arrival is 9am
our plan is to go to USS tapos we'll leave our things sa hotel kasi 2pm pa naman check in time. after USS, san maganda pumunta in the evening? may ni-recommend saming place na may fireworks din daw, forgot where.

2nd day: we plan on availing the city half day tour of travel asia. Is this worth it? 9am yata start. we haven't planned anything in the afternoon til evening.

3rd day: no plans din and our flight back home is around 5pm.

gusto namin magpunta bugis and chinatown and gusto ko rin sana magpuntang Ikea and meron bang Sephora? Btw, kami lang naman ng hubby ko, we're not into going to zoo or etc.. mga tourist spot lang na maganda for adults.

ilovetigger, YMCA's family room is cheaper. Last time I checked the family room is only around $220-$230

1. I heard maarte ang money changers sa atin so I guess mas less hassle to have your money changed here. just to go Lucky Plaza
2. If you think you will be commuting via bus and MRT most of the time, you can just get an ez link card..
3. Safest bet that's within the city area is Maxwell at Chinatown...
4. Depends on what dish ang habol nyo... Do you want to try chill crab, cereal prawn and the likes? I suggest No Signboard at Esplanade but they have a branch at Clarke Quay too... Or Paradise Dynasty at Ion Orchard for the xiao long pao. IMO mas ok cya than Din Tai Fung
5. Hard to squeeze in all the places you want to go in 3 days... Zoo palang is more than half day na, USS same din... Chinatown, Orchard and Marina bay kaya in 1 day but the rest, you have to choose na which ones do you really want to go and have to let go
6. Makeups... Cheapest is sa Duty Free (you buy before leaving Singapore), If you're a fan of Charles & Keith, it's definitely way cheaper here too. Apple products are also relatively cheap here as well. There are a lot of CNY deals/promotions going on so far so I'm sure you'll find something that will catch your eye with all the good deals going on here lately. Happy shopping!

ilovetigger, we didn't go to the zoo this time because we went there the last time we were in SG. If I remember it right, the zoo is very big! it can take the whole day if you really like animals. what we did then is we went straight to night safari after the zoo closed.

with river safari naman, it is smaller than the night safari and it took us a few hours to roam around there, had lunch at the panda restaurant and had the panda pau

shopping wise in terms of make up, i compared some items like Guerlain sa Duty Free vs High Street prices. Parang High Street prices less GST refund is still cheaper. I'm not saying all but the items that I checked and wanted were that case.

Also, if you are looking for a specific brand like Jo Malone, Nars, Giorgio Armani, Urban Decay, they are only available sa city and not sa airport duty free

Bags seem expensive in SG. My mom got a Prada bag from Europe and it was about 60k. 92k in Manila and 90k (88k after GST refund) in SG.

We just had a quick peek sa Marina Bay Sands, the entrance fee of 26SGD is too high for us and we opted to go to Gardens by the Bay lang and it is much much more worth it

Share ko lang din pala ang Christmas shopping experience ko with Cotton On. Nag online shopping ako para ipang regalo sa Pinas. Online lang ang offer nila na mga $5-$10 na skirt, shirts, and dresses. Meron cheap bracelets na mga pa-cute for $1 at mga wallets for $2. Hindi naman mga WOW material ito pero as a gift para masa (hehe) naging sulit sobra sa amin. It took only 3 business days bago nadeliver sa bahay. Delivery was free kasi above $50 ang nabili ko.
