share naman kayo mga sises/bros ng experiences nyo when u started to play guitar and tips na rin for beginners (like me). Gano katagal bago nawala na yung pain ng finger tips and normal ba na magkablisters talaga?

I started when I was 14. I used an old, abandoned acoustic guitar I found in our ceiling and asked my dad to buy strings so I can self study. It was normal na masakit sa fingers lalo na when I just started but I eventually learned about choosing the best string gauge, having a guitar luthier adjust the action and invested sa decent acoustic and electric guitars which made learning more easy. you'd just have to play and play. if you feel tired or there's any discomfort, just rest. you won't be able to develop very well if you approach learning with a "cramming for exams" approach.

for newbies, specially those who are really into pop music or guitar oriented music, i highly advise them to start with a cheap electric guitar. there's so much an electric guitar can do.

I've seen lots of individuals who gave up on the guitar realizing how awesome it is as a instrument.

then from lighter gauge stings, one can opt to go to heavier gauge strings later.

once you know that the guitar is for you, and you have developed good finger strength etc. then its time to go playing the acoustic guitar. start with light gauge again, and slowly progress to heavier gauges.

if Classical music is your thing, you can opt to start right away with a classical guitar.

but you can really do more with an electric. you'll be able to enjoy the different bendings, half, full, etc. ...you'll hear them all.

tiyaga lang talaga. i've never resorted to any of those "home remedies" to deal with calluses.

extra skin develops from extra pressure. so if you just allow your fingers to rest, calluses will slowly develop. pag nag madali ka, talagang masakit.

i can't blame people for being absorbed in playing the guitar. talagang nakaka addict.

I just started to pick up the guitar, and I'm having a really hard time with making sure the strings all sound good. And I'm having a hard time switching from chord to chord. Now practicing E E E A A A over and over using a metronome.

Guitar can be really difficult at the start, but I love hearing people play. Maybe someday I'll be good at playing too!

Naku, yan din ang isa sa mga challenges na nahirapan ako nung nag-aaral ako mag-gitara, ang sakit-sakit ng kamay ko and may times na nagkakasugat.  Nakatulong ng konti nung pinagamit ako ng guitar pick pero nasasaktan pa rin yung hands ko, kaya isa sa reasons yun kung bakit nagstop ako.  Sometimes I see people na nag-gigitara and namamangha ako, lalo na pag electric guitar, ang astig e.  I don't know if I'll ever attempt to take it up again, mas inclined kasi ako sa other music instruments e, but like any other instrument--or anything else in life--it really helps to practice a lot and not be afraid to make mistakes.  It will help in learning and enjoying the process.

My high school required playing the guitar part of the curriculum but I never followed through until now. I've been doing vocals for the longest time and quite recently, a punk band got me to play guitars for them. Two months into it and I'd say I've learned a lot from by bandmates. If you really want to learn to play the guitar, form a band and write your own songs.

I learned through self-study, initially with help ng church friends hanggang sa I had my own guitar. You'll have callouses, but if you stop playing, magbabalat ang kalyo! Sayang ang effort. Ako I get sad pag nawawala ang kalyo ko sa daliri. It's my pride. Haha

Nagagandahan talaga ako sa mga babae na magaling mag gitara. I have a girl officemate na nag abang pa talaga nung nag sale dati yung RJ para sa cheaper na guitar.

ako hanggang ngayon basic pa din alam ko. ang pinakakaya ko lang yun what's up na song kase madali lang ang chords nun hehe :-)
pero kelangan mo talaga ng effort para matuto. practice ng practice dapat.

Hubby magaling/marunong mag guitar at electric guitar na base. Ako bukod sa left handed, ang hirap ng fingers ko kapa-in ang string nakakalito tapos bagal ko pa.

so far i know how to play guitar. i didn't expect nga eh na matututo ako. cause it takes a lot of hard time to learn. ang sakit pa sa kamay lalo. but if you know how to play na sobrang mag e'enjoy ka talaga lalo na if you can sing while playing the guitar na. if ever boring ako nag play lang ako ng guitar to make fun of myself.
