Sobrang daldal sa school
« on: October 17, 2013, 03:26:38 pm »
Madalas napaparusahan sya like pinapatayo dahil sobrang daladal.

Hi sis, if it was me, Id try to do two things simultaneously, first Id be a little more strict with my daughter as shes in grade 2 na and as you said nung nursery you knew madaldal na sya so this shows shes been this way for a while. Pag KG or nursery walang problema yan, but as shes getting older it can turn into a bad habit and as you said, medyo its affecting her grades and the people around her dont like it as well kaya you and your husband have to make a joint effort to be a little more stricter in this field and educate her na wag sya masyadong madaldal and try your best to change that attitude. But of course not too strict, slowly but surely shell change, baka mga 3 months of consistent discapline and educating in this area (na bawasan ang kadaldalan) shell change na rin.

Another thing Id do at the same time is get her into sports and watch what she eats, kasi as you mentioned, may kalusugan ang katawan and baka shes eating too much sugary food kaya very active sya and also since shes not getting enough exercise or movement, her energy is pent up and she therefore talks alot. Getting her into sports at a young age would be great for her mentally and physically and shell burn alot of that pent up and saved energy. Is she an only child? Baka thats another reason she talks alot in class as she doesnt have a sibling to talk to at home. Pero being an only child is not really a big factor. Again, I would say the best thing to do is be a little more strict with her and educate her about this 'madaldal' aspect and watch her food intake and get her into sports or any activity wherein she can release her energy. Hope this helps and I hope the other sisses here can give you more advice as well. :)

Meron syang kapatid kayalang one year palang.

I remember when my bunso was still in primary school, pag may PTA, yan lagi ang hinaing ng adviser niya sa amin ng papa niya.  Tawag tuloy namin sa kanya Apeng Daldal LOL!

What we do is we tell her in front of her teacher na dapat pag may lessons makikinig kay teacher and then we follow through pag nasa bahay na ulit.

Hi cutiemom5775. First of all, I think mas ok na your daughter is madaldal instead of someone who keeps to herself. Now, what she needs to learn is social etiquette rules such as listening to someone who's speaking, waiting for her turn to talk, and caring for other people's feelings (when she hurts them accidentally etc). I've read an article about daldalita kids and maybe these tips can help you:

10 Fast Ways To Reduce a Talkative Kid From Chit-chatting Effectively

1. Parents can teach them how social etiquette is unethical to speak excessively especially if it doesn't fall in line with the ambiance of the conversation.  It is also important for children to learn that continual interruptions are inappropriate.

2.Teach them the appropriate ways to get into conversations. If it is something important the kid wants to say, he must wait for a pause in the conversation, and say “excuse me” and wait for an acknowledgement and then make the statement.

3. When kids are at home, they will always have something to say. What parents could do is to establish some "quiet time" for your kid.

4. Find something else to do together. "No talking" does not mean "no voice". For example, you could choose to read your child a picture book. His only job is to be quiet and listen.

5. No yelling at kid. This would stopping the kid from saying something is quite a possibility that they might block themselves up.

6. Teacher can create their own classroom management plan to ensure actively participation during class time. For example, strictly follow the rule of 'hand-rising' exercise. It is important to let the children understand why hand-raising is crucial - "One Talks, All Listen".

7. Bring your kid to the nearby library for an hour. The only rule is "stay quiet." You could expand quiet time as your child gets used to silence. It may also help to cut down his excessive speaking.

8. To enforce a consequence every time a student breaks a rule. The punishment can be as simple as standing up at one corner, pulling its own ears for the entire lesson.

9. Celebrate the kid's personality; never shut the kid up. Instead teach empathy and show him how to be sensitive to the feeling of others and his surroundings. Give him ample opportunities to purse his creative task.

10. Once they get used to the silence, parents could reward and encourage them once your talkative child attains a certain degree of control over their excessive speech.

^that's true.  Ganyan ako noong bata ako, up to now super daldal pa rin --  but not when my parents were around, now - not when husband is around.  Repressed nga kasi critical ang parents, ang husband. Same same, hay buhay.
.
My Lola says kasi sa dami naming siblings and nasa ending na kami ng sister ko --  "K.S.P."  (kulang sa pansin) daw kami. So I became so entertaining & kapalmukz - to be noticed.  My sister too - yon naman, very aggressive & confrontational.

my kid is sort of the same.
we had him pa assessed kasi baka may ADD as suggested na rin by his teacher when he was still in nursery. pero ok naman siya according to his pedia. he is so talkative that he can strike a conversation with a total stranger with no hesitation. pretty much a lot the older kids, teachers and admin personnel in his school knew him kasi nga parang wala siya kyeme to say hi/hello tapos magtatanong ng kung ano mapansin nya or magkwekwento. this affects his grade somehow kasi nga inuuna yung kwento before his classroom work. but i doent really take this as a negative trait kasi naman ang dami friends ng anak ko from school and a lot of people say he is smart. madali lang ma distract

now we limit his sweet intake and  no tv, computer during school days, pwede lang sya maglaro with his toys or just read. nag improve naman. siguro kasi bata pa.
