i'm getting addicted to washi tapes. but quite hesitant to buy every design that i like. sa mga nagcocollect, usually gaano katagal life span niya. i mean since tape siya wala bang tendency na kapag matagal ng hindi nagamit e mawala yung dikit? and once na nadikit na siya sa surface does the design eventually fade or change kasi hindi naman siya made of plastic. how do you store it?

looking forward sa insights ng mga collectors here.

^pa-join sis. just started buying washi tapes around april this year. nagstart dahil need ko maghanap ng pang-decorate sa covers ng school books ng anak ko (bawal kasi ang plastic cover sa books nila). i'm also wondering kung may special storage (tipong acid-free containers, kung meron mang ganun) bang kailangan para sa washi tapes. currently kasi, i just keep them sa isang clear container, para madali ko makita in case bibili ako or need ko sila gamitin. ang mahal din kasi nung mga nakikita ko na wooden containers na may dispenser pang kasama. sana may magrespond pa sa initial inquiries mo sis.

^^i also store them in transparent plastic containers para mabilis makita madami akong gustong designs but un nga hindi lahat magagamit ng sabay sabay. baka mamaya kapag gagamitin ko na wala ng dikit. yes, hindi practical for me yung naka wooden dispenser. but i must admit it's really nice to look at  i prefer to keep them covered para hindi din maalikabukan 

^sis two sellers palang natry ko. Hobby Depot and Hey Kessy. the have fb accounts. please search for them nalang. si Hobby Depot kasi nagpropromo kapag naka 12 rolls ka 750 instead na 75 per roll. depende sa size ng washi tape yung price niya. some sellers mas mahal pa. hope this helps kahit medyo so so palang alam ko regarding washi tapes

sis seven82, i agree sis. the wooden containers are very pretty to look at. shabby chic ang dating. pero sa house namin na may bulilit, nakupo! hindi practical yung ganun. 

sis angelzero, i have tried hobby depot and heykessy. oks naman sila, though kapag hindi sale si hobby depot, medyo pricey sya. and ok kay heykessy, may freebie syang postcard and 45 lang shipping fee nya (depends on ilang rolls of washi ang buy mo ah). aside from these hobbydepot and hey kessy, you can try bee happy and paperblushph. may facebook pages din sila.

sa Bee Happy, may freebies din sila na kasama if you reach a certain amount. sa paperblush naman, yung ibang rolls na mahal dun sa 3 sellers (Bee happy, hobby depot, and heykessy), minsan mas mura sa paperblush (especially the ones na shorter ang length ng roll). if you have an instagram account, dami din mga sellers dun, kaya lang medyo limited pa designs nila.

Hello girls, has anyone tried to scout divi for washi tapes? Next week pa lang ako pupunta to buy tapes, esp. The christmas themed for the gifts and hello kitty tapes na request ng pamangkin ko sakin for her birthday. Ang mahal kasi ng hello kitty pag online.

^ sis, gusto ko rin actually maghanap sa divi, kasi i've heard mas mura daw dun - di lang washi tapes, but even other craft supplies (like punchers and stamps). kung 75-90 pesos ang 1 washi roll sa mga online sellers, sa divi ata it can go down as much as 30-50 pesos. not sure lang if same quality ah. favor naman sis, if ever matuloy ka next week, balitaan mo naman kami san sa divi, para mapasyalan din. thanks in advance sis!

No problem sis! Sa thursday yung free day ko to go to divi. Balitaan ko kayo agad.

Yung nabili ko sa isang seller na paper tape about a month or so ago, medyo di maganda kapag matagal na, natatanggal yung print. Mura ko lang nabili, 20 pesos yata.

Mas ok ba talaga yung Somi na washi tape?

^ sis, alam ko iba pa yung paper tape sa washi tape. kasi sa SM may nakita yung mother ko, pero paper tape naman.. though sa SM around 40 pesos sya. tinignan ko yung texture nung paper tape na binili nya from SM against sa binili ko sa paperblush and heykessy, para mas madaling mag-fade yung design dun sa paper tape. and parang mas makapal ng konti yung washi tape. baka yun ang catch kasi mas mura yung paper tape. not so sure about Somi, ang nabasa ko sa internet is yung MT brand. kasi authentic ata yun na from Japan. pero mas mahal din yung MT brand. nasa 100-150 per roll.

so yung paper tape ang nagfafade. so far, wala pa akong nakikitang washi tapes sa Divi before. what i always see e yung parang scotch tape na may designs. meron silang small rolls and meron din yung malaking rolls. sobrang dami kasing tao lately. siksikan, hirap mamili.. 

may mga nabili na akong crafts supply sa 168 before but hindi maganda quality. mabilis makalas yung parts. sa mga crazy cut scissors tsambahan minsan may mapurol. then sa stamps hindi pulido yung pag carve sa rubber. hehe mura nga kasi siguro kaya ganoon. may mga nabili din akong punchers na set. yung iba ok yung iba nagstuck once na nagpress ka. kaya nadismaya na ako. pasensya kung puro rants may pagka OC kasi ako sa mga gamit.

to add: i found this blog. mukhang may washi tapes na nga sa 168. and as per blogger she got them for php25 only.

^Sis, hindi yan washi tape eh. Yan yung parang "cloth" tape eh. I also buy those in divi and it's really cheap.

hindi ako nakatiis and nagikot ako sa 168 to look for washi tapes. nakakita ako ng washi tapes 4 pcs for 100 and something similar but they are called paper tapes na 3 sets (1 set 3 rolls) for 100 and another one na, set of 4 (4 rolls) for 40 pesos (ito different sizes). but i must say na iba pa din compared sa nabili ko kay Hey Kessy and Hobby Depot. yung washi tapes limited designs lang tapos may mga ilan pa na yung pagka cut e alanganin. parang nahaluan na ng ibang design. and yung texture hindi din pareho. but still naparami pa din ako ng bili hehe  will post pics nalang. mas madaming nagtitinda nung parang scotch tape na may designs. meron pa na kasing lapad ng packaging tape.

^ sis i think yung parang scotch tape na may design is called deco tape. may nabili rin ako sa national bookstore na ganun before - pero mas mahal, close to 60 pesos. although cute, pero iba pa rin ang texture and designs sa washi tape. i still have to find washi tape na binibenta ng 4 for 100. kasi usually ang price nun is 65 at the lowest. pero kung may makakahanap ng authentic washi tape na 4 for 100, then why not?

@seven82 and slickchick thanks sa suggestions. so what's the best way to store them? pwede na yung plastic boxes? talaga ba mag iiba ang quality nya over time?

@missoni i will go to divi too to look for washi tapes and other arts and crafts materials. saan kaya meron doon? looking forward to hear from your trip there this week

^i just put them in transparent plastic containers. nag browse ako online and found many ways to store them in a way na parang display ang labas niya. but for me mas practical na nasa storage box.  as for stores who sell them in 168, sa ground floor doon sa 2nd building madami. hindi na ako nakaikot to see if meron din sa second floor kasi madaming tao.

^^tama sis deco tapes. may nakita din kaming deco tapes ng daughter ko sa toys r us. Lisa Frank yung brand and mahal siya.. for me parang hindi authentic yung mga washi tapes na nabili ko sa 168.. alam naman natin na talamak sa 168 ang mga immitations hehe lahat na yata ng pwede pekein meron dun. and yung nabili kong set of 3 for 100 tsaka yung 40 per box nakita ko sa fb page ni Hobby depot yun. same packaging pa.. hindi ko pa natry bumili kay Hobby Depot ng ganon so hindi ko macompare. and to think may hard plastic case pa yung washi tape tapos 4 pcs for 100 lang. samantalang yung mga nabili ko sa online sellers e as is.

Last year pa ko pumunta ng divi. hehe.pero sa 168 ako nakakita ng stamps and punchers. Excited na ko! 😄

may nabili akong fake na washi tape somewhere (i know it's fake) and it's not good. not sticky at all and kinda like a wax paper. tapos it breaks easily. nakabili na ako ng washi tapes from hobby depot and okay sila. 

^^ sis okay yung last ha, vibrant and i think i havent seen yung ibang tapes sa mga online sellers. not bad since mga 75 isang tape plus shipping fee pa.

@sis seven82, for me naman, cute yung designs nung mga nabili mo for 4-for-100.  kung gagamitin mo sa mga gift wrapping and give-aways lang (i.e. not for your personal crafts), i think ok na yung 4-for-100. parang hindi ko pa nakikita sa ibang online sellers yung mga design nung tapes mo na included sa 4-for-100, so i think good catch na rin yun. 

@sis angelzero - ako sis sa clear storage box ko lang sya nilalagay. aside from it's cheaper than buying yung fancy washi storage boxes, maliit lang din kasi yung room space namin, so i have to make good use of whatever storage space i have. mas practical din sa akin yung clear storage box, kasi mas madali ko makita ano na yung designs na meron ako. 

gusto ko biglang pumunta ng divi.. na-curious ako dun sa mga ibang craft supplies, like punchers and stamps. sana lang makahanap ng items na pulido ang quality. may nagtitinda din kaya sa divi ng mga card stock or special paper (kahit sa 168 para di na masyado lumayo)?

sis iwannabeasupermodel, that's the only design they have  and parang 8 pcs lang yan sa display nila nung nakita ko. tinanong ko yung nagtitinda kung may iba pa, wala na daw. baka tinatamad lang kumuha ng stocks hehe

^yes sis, hindi siya pareho sa designs ng mga online seller. but iba texture tsaka medyo alanganin kung tatagal yung dikit hehe but yes correct ka na mas hindi tayo manghihinayang if not for personal use  nabinyagan na nga ng daughter ko as nagdikit dikit na siya sa mga toy boxes niya 

meron na bang nakagamit ng mod podge?

^ sis, ako nakagamit na ako ng mod podge. it works well if you use with washi in your craft projects - lalo na kapag hindi paper ang didikitan. mas nagiging sturdy yung craft project.
