Immigration Officers: How to Deal (Thread 2)

Mga sis, I have a friend, yung hubby nya, first time to fly out of the country, nakakuha ng work from home job pero sa Singapore mag sign ng contract and training kasi dun naka base ang company nila. He was about to fly out nung Saturday last week but was offloaded kasi on a tourist visa sya but sadly he presented his "job offer" email to the IO, tapos nag attempt sya ulit ng Monday lang, offloaded ulit at hinanapan sya ng OEC, since hindi naman sya OFW hindi sya binigyan. Now ang question nya since kaka offload lang sya nung Monday, incase ba mag attempt sya may fly this coming Tuesday, masisilip parin ba sa records sa IO kung na offload na sya twice?

Ang advise ko naman was humingi ng invitation letter from our friend sa SG or travel with her, kaso medyo late na for that. Kaya kung susugal ba sila to book him for a flight on Tuesday on a pure travel purpose pwede kaya sya makalusot?

Sisses, it will be my first time flying out of the country with my parents as an adult. Can we go altogether sa isang IO? This is what we used to do nung medyo bata pa ako pero baka kasi hindi na pwede now that I'm adult and working na. TIA!

@pinkish sa pinas pa lang ba, offloaded na? If yes, mag 'tour' na.lang diya sa malaysia then fly/take a bus to SG.

^ yes sis sa pinas palang, yan din advise ko sa kanya, she was insisting na baka kasi masilip na may record of 2 offloading, I also advised na magtry sa Clark IO, baka sakaling makalusot.

@sis pinkish - much better sis if sa clark airport cia and kunin nya ticket is KL then bus to SG na lang and then ticket nya is max of 5 days lang para pasyal lang talaga. Mas mahigpit kasi IOs pag going to SG than going to KL. Remind him also to answer only the questions being asked (do not divulge unnecessary information) and show only documents being asked by the IO, wag na wag nya papakita lahat ng documents na hawak nya.

^correct sis! Because if walang return ticket, 99.99% na mao-offload again.

Sa jetstar cheaper ang re-booking, in case need mag-extend ng stay.

Book na lang sa mga hostels or guesthouses in KL para mura, around RM80 per night or of solo lang cia much better na sa dorm na lang which is less than RM40 per night. Book sa sites which will only require 10% deposit then will only charge 1 night in case of no show.

^hi sis,

Based on what i observed while queuing for the immigration, usually pag family sabay-sabay na lumalapit sa IO. There was an instance pa nga na hindi nagsabay-sabay yung family, pinalapit ng IO lahat ng family members na magkakasama sa ticket. But this was in PH IO. Minsan nga pero once lang nangyari, 4 kami ng friends ko na magkakasamang nag-travel then 1 ticket lang kami, sabay-sabay na kami pinalapit ni IO. Same with other countries like HK, SG, and MY, magkakasamang lumalapit pag family.

Sis, dapat he presented himself as tourist, hindi as somebody who will sign a contract kasi once he states that he'll be working in SG, kelangan nya pumila sa OWWA and POEA in order to register as OFW, then saka sha makakakuha ng OEC.  Talagang di sha papayagan umalis ng bansa since he mentioned that he'll be working there, hahanapan sha ng OEC.

Since wala pa shang contract, I suggest pumasok sha sa singapore as tourist.  We do that all the time especially when looking for a job OR to go to singapore to sign a contract.

To answer your question, merong database sa IO na malalaman nila through passport number kung naoffload na nila ang isang pasahero.  In this case, baka pag pumasok sha sa singapore as tourist, masisilip na sha kasi he was trying to leave the country as worker then all of a sudden as tourist.  It will definitely raise a red flag.

Sisses questions po.  First time ko mag out of the country, I'll be travelling with my BF and mag stay kami sa house ng pinsan nya sa SG. I have na inviation letter, pero di siya authenticated dun, sa email lang. Ok lang ba yun? Also, need ko ba mag present ng COE ko? employed naman ako gaun din si BF.  TIA.

^if your purpose is really to spent vacation in SG, there's nothing to worry sis. We did not present any document when we went there. Passport and return ticket lang. I was with a first timer also. We spent 1 week in SG.

My parents & I (adult na – late late 20s) will be traveling to Canada in August, we will be attending a wedding of a relative, and of course kasama na don konting pasyal. Luckily, we were approved of multiple entry visa.

What can I present the IO kung maghahanap siya ng katunayan na hindi naman ako pupunta dun para magtrabaho?

And just a background:
We have a family business and my father’s been training me (apprentice) for a couple of years now on how to handle the business when the time comes.
The thing is I don’t have a real job since 2010, which means I don’t have an ITR. Nagkakaron ako ng money when inaabutan ako ng father ko when I do something for the business which is more than enough minsan...

I have an ID of our business (with a designation of a position that I specialize in), and the only time I used it is when I travelled to Singapore with my fiancé for a vacation last 2013, when an IO asked for an ID, wala naman naging problem, or I can count that as lucky dahil hindi naghanap ng ITR.

Kinakabahan ako since baka ma-offload ako tapos mahal ng ticket. I don’t want our hard work to go to waste. Kasama ko naman yung parents ko, do they have to bring anything to vouch for me? Do we need to bring our business permit? or yung ITR ng father ko?

hi sis lunaris. anong supporting documents ginamit mo for your visa application?  you can bring photocopies of those papers in case hanapan ka. if your father is the one shouldering the travel expenses, have an affidavit of support ready just in case hanapan.

question, for those na nakapag travel na as a family, mahigpit pa din ba IO dito sa Pinas and HK?

sis yung affidavit of support, form of letter ba yun or kailangan yung may notaryo pa?

Nung nag-apply kami ng visa, ang naka aattach sa bawat application namin (mom, me, & my brother) are the wedding invitations, save the date card, invitation letter from our relative in Canada na ikakasal, a cover letter (our purpose of going/applying) na naka-indicate din yung mga passport number namin and nakalagay na my father will be shouldering all the expenses, naka-attach din latest ITR, bank statements for the past 6 months, & bank certificates. (I’m not very keen in showing these papers to IOs baka kasi manghingi ng pera, ewan lang I feel paranoid.)

Baka need ko rin magdala ng birth certificate? para mapatunayan na parents ko yung kasama ko. Sobrang kinakabahan talaga ako nabasa ko kasi red flag na agad when you put ‘none’ for occupation. :/
