I accidentally scratched my friend's new car

I live with my friend and she just bought a new car about 4 weeks ago. Currently she is in manila now and left the car in my care. So today, I went out to pick up her laundry and when as I was parking it in the garage, the gate swung back as I was heading in. As a result, there is tiny dent like about a quarter of an inch and paint got scratched off.

I haven't told my friend yet as one: I don't want to ruin her night yet  and two, I am mustering the right words to say. I know I have to tell her the truth before the night ends  and own up to the responsibility like insist in paying the damage.  Friendship is important to me more than anything else.

I am just so tensed right now. Any thoughts?

Sis..better tell your friend..maiintindihan naman nya siguro yun..since it's bnew car..insured yan..so sa dealer mo na lang pagawa.ikaw naman magsshoulder e,maiinis lang siguro, wag naman sana..pero kung close friend mo talaga..hindi nya na gagawin big deal yun

sis thanks for the thoughts. close talaga kami. i need to tell her sooner to end my misery. i feel like a total dimwit right now.

i already composed a message for her as I can't find the courage to call her. Kasi baka hindi ko masabi yung dapat ko sabihin at through text or message that I have drafted, tingin ko naman it sounds good kasi I assured her that I am owning up to the responsibility and that our friendship is more important to us kaya kahit bilha ko sia ng bagong pinto okay lang (sana wag naman, kasi montero yun )

Relax! Its an accident. Di mo naman intention yun plus its brand new for sure it has insurance. just tell her the truth and tell her how it happened. If I were your friend i'd be more pissed if you won't tell me what happened. Besides friendship is more important than a car. So relax and take a deep breath. Just tell her the truth and tell her you will be paying for the damage...

That gate incident is a normal occurrence sis. Ilan beses na saken nangyari yan lalo na pag malakas ang hangin. Better tell your friend na kagad.

If it's a small gasgas/dent, madameng nagre-retouch jan. One time, I accidentally bumped the Crosswind that i was driving in one of the pillars in our office parking lot. Nagkaron ng small dent and chip yung paint. I had it retouched for 1k. Looked like nothing happened after.

yes i agree dents like that can be retouched. it was something inevitable. i hope hindi exposed ang steel. pansin ko kasi pag matanda na ang car, kung saan nabangga doon una kinakalawang. i think this has to do with the quality of non european steel. (assuming japanese yung car).

anyway, things like those will be part of a car's life. kaya ako lahat ng cars ko may electronic gadget to reverse the polarity of the body para hindi mangalawang.

retouch lang yan. no biggies. one way or another she will know.

this is what she told me "yaan mo na, anjan na yan eh, wala na tayong magagawa. dalhin na lang naten yan this week sa dealer, papaayos ko na din yung scatches sa salamin" 

then when she got home yesterday, she bought me a dress from manila.

naiyak naman ako sobra.  friendship is more important than any material things for both of us talaga. but I am not taking advantage of that, i will still insist to pay any inconveniences or what nots that will entail.

  Bait ng friend mo girl, i'm so protective of my belongings so i might get hurt if mabangga or may masira for whatever reason ng iba lalo na new car.  Siguro the way you said it to her, natouch din siya. Why were you getting the laundry for her pala?

^sorry super late reply. they went to manila kasi and pinalaundry nila yung bed sheets and comforters. eh nag aalala ako na pag dating nila wala silang bedsheets kasi wala silang pang palit pa. So I wanted their bed to be ready by the time they get back.
