The whole time was so sunny! ang laki ng initim ko but no single regret. Ang ganda ng Batanes, sunny weather made the view more amazing and hills look greener.
Me and my friend stayed at Marfel's Lodge, first night mainit because of the brownout hehe. But the rest of the nights, ok na power supply sa Batanes, kaya kerri na sa fan room.
What we did:
1st day - North Batan
2nd day - Sabtang Island, overnight
3rd day - Back to Basco, free time. Went back to Vayang Rolling Hills
4th day - South Batan
5th day - free time. Went back to Boulder Beach and Racuh A Payaman.
I know we could have done Itbayat. But we were kinda hesitant since its 2~4hrs boat ride hehe. But I guess that gives us another reason to come back next year.
Food - on our first day, we had our lunch at SDC canteen, surprisingly nasarapan kami sa ulam namin, na paksiw na baboy. Serving is good. 1rice + 1viand + 1 softdrink = 110 pesos. Pricey but understandable. We had dinner at Bunker's Cafe sa gilid ng Basco Lighthouse. For 300/pax we had rice + 3kinds of viand (pork, fish & veggies) + dessert. Oks na kasi nasarapan naman kami sa luto and ganda ng ambience sa hills, mahangin nakakagana kumain. During South Batan tour, we had lunch at Vatang Grill, for 530 pesos we had rice + 2kinds of viands. Best for me is the lunch at seaside restaurant when we had the Sabtang Tour, sarap kumain malapit sa dagat, 500/head we had turmeric rice + 3kinds of viands (fish, pork & veggies) + lobsters!! lots of them.. Yun natira, pinabalot namin for dinner. Best part, pagkakain, nakitulog pa kame sa duyan sa kubo ng may-ari ng restaurant. Hehe. The rest of the meals, sa bahay na kame kumain, courtesy of ate Fe's mini-store and kusina,
Accommodation - Highly recommending Marfel's Lodge. Ang ganda ng place ni ate Fe. We were able to stay both on the extension and main lodge. Malinis, Maayos and kumpleto with all we need, plus points pa yun mini-honesty store na very reasonable ang prices ng tinda niya. But when we transferred at the main lodge, mas nag enjoy kami. A two storey house with 2rooms on the second floor (can be aircon or fan) that can accommodate 3pax and with 2 comfort rooms sa ibaba so eventhough walang private cr sa loob ng room, me kanya kanyang cr pa rin per room. Fully furnished and bahay, with sala & tv, dining table, ref, hot/cold water dispenser, stove, microwave and all the utensils and supplies you will need. Napakahomey ng place. And very accommodating si ate fe, jeanne and kuya vic.
