Wow, wild, 4 issues reached ceiling or near-ceiling price today. Could this be a sign of an impending crash? Or wala lang, basura play lang talaga?

Finally going to dabble in the stock market!
Been reading up a lot on finance and investments the past weeks since I really wanted to start investing on stocks this April (as a birthday gift to myself).  ;)

From January to April 2014, the top 20 stocks foreign buyers have been pouring their money into are:

1. BDO
2. URC
3. JGS
4. TEL
5. MEG
6. PGOLD
7. AGI
8. CHIB
9. AP
10. AC
11. GTCAP
12. ALI
13. BPI
14. DNL
15. SMPH
16. PNB
17. MBT
18. NIKL
19. FGEN
20. RRHI

This is where the money is. Expect these stocks to fly all the way to PSEi 7k+++, but also expect them to be the first to fall and fall heavily when a reversal happens.

Hi po question lang, still studying about stocks and about in progress to open an account na :)

Tanong lang po, for example I want to buy a stock from this company A and their board lot is 10. The next time I want to buy, can I still buy at 10 which is minimum board lot for that stock, or I have to increase? Like 10 now then 20 next or I can just always buy the minimum?

Also I've been seeing the "double dragon" in my previous readings here and other blogs, what does that mean po?

TIA  :) :)

ilovewater14: You can always buy the minimum board lot, no need to increase.

Double Dragon is a newly listed company whose sub-companies are sort of a mix of Jollibee and SM. It made a lot of noise early this month because it literally doubled in value on it first trading days. From 2 pesos, it shot up to 4 pesos, and still going up 'til now. Google Double Dragon to see what their projects are -- they are mostly invested in the Vis-Min area; many foresee it's going to a very valuable stock in the future.

Hello Everyone,

This is my first post here!  :D

Meron na po akong pang invest. Paano po ba kumikita sa Stock Market?

Ganito po ba?
- For example, bili ako ng Double Dragon na stock for PHP 2.00 each x 500,000 = 1 Million Pesos

kung tumaas value nun to 4.1php, magiging 2.05M php pera mo (500,000 stocks you own * 4.1php) pero keep in mind the broker's fees

di mo kelangan maghanap ng bibili ng stock mo

Okay :D

Thanks sa response, gustong gusto ko na mag start mag invest.

COL financial yung gagamitin kong platform.

>> By the way about dun sa broker's fees, usually how much po yung mga fees ng broker?

>> Ano po yung ginagamit ninyo pang monitor ng mga Philippine Stocks?

>> Real-time trading po ba sa COL Financial? For example yung price ng stock 4.107 PHP, tapos nag trade ako after 5 seconds, biglang naging 4.2 PHP, hindi naman po ganun yun diba? (kapag malabo po, i-eelaborate ko pa po)

>> And lastly, okay po ba yung COL Financial na gamiting trade platform kapag seven figures yung ipang ttrade? Safe po ba yun? And for example nag deposit ako TODAY ng 1M sa COL Financial, kelan ko pwede i-withdraw yung money ko from them?

>> And gaano po katagal yung trade transaction? For example I bought 500,000 stock from DD, pagka-click ko po ba ng BUY makukuha ko na agad?

Thanks sobrang excited lang talaga ako mag trade kasi first time ko :D :D :D Dami ko questions lol...

May question po ako sa mga already investing members here,

1.) For example, may 1M po kayo, how much profit do you think will you make after 1 month from it?

2.) Okay po ba yung COL Financial?

3.) Magkano usually yung ginagastos ninyo na fee every trading transaction?

1 and 3.

It's not just how much money you can make from 1M in one month... it's also how much you can lose! There really is no number. One stock market Facebook pages, people like to post their portfolios. One guy who has this 1.6M portfolio still has over 400k to make up for in losses. One guy who has this small 15K portfolio, was able to to turn it into 83K in just three months. It's all about what stocks you pick, your timing, and how much money/volume you're trading with.

COL's buying and selling fees (copied from their website):

Commission - .25% Of the Gross Trade Amount
Value Add Tax (VAT) - 12%   Of Commission
Philippine Stock Exchange Transaction Fee (PSE Trans Fee) - .005% Of the Gross Trade Amount
Securities Clearing Corporation of the Philippines Fee (SCCP) - .01% Of Gross Trade Amount

So the fees you pay for each transaction depends on how much you buy and sell.

2. COL is okay. Has been slow this month, but they're supposedly working on it. COL has their own platform where you can monitor stocks and the PSEi. Trading is always real time. You should be able to see the fluctuations in prices every second, but since COL has been slow and buggy, it's been a problem for their clients. But again, they said they're working on it.

Yes, you can trade on COL with 1M.  You'll be given their most premium account. You can withdraw your money any time on any working day.

3. As for how long trading transactions are... if the stock is active, like SM and Jollibee, your order can be matched right away, provided that your order is at the current price. Syempre if you're bidding at a lower price or selling at a higher price, you have to wait a little until someone wants to match that price you're asking for. If the stock is not so active, and transactions are far and few in between, expect to wait some time before your order is matched.

Hope this helps!

@ikaela, thank you for your replies they are very informative esp for newbies like me :)

I have one problem though, I cannot proceed with my COL application because they are now requiring a TIN ID which I do not have. I'm currently outside the Philippines so I won't be able to apply quickly and such a hassle. Aral aral mina ulit while waiting  :o

Anyone invested in mining?

Nadale ako sa MARC. Buti na lang I decided to hold and average down instead of cutting loss when it went down by -30%. Thanks to yesterday's jockeying, may gain na ako. Sana tuloy-tuloy na!
