Raymond "Red" Reddington, one of the FBI's most wanted fugitives, surrenders in person at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. He claims that he and the FBI have the same interests: bringing down dangerous criminals and terrorists. Reddington will co-operate, but insists that he will speak only to Elizabeth Keen, a rookie FBI profiler. Keen questions Reddington's sudden interest in her, though he claims that Keen is very special. After the FBI brings down a terrorist he provided information on, Reddington reveals that the terrorist is only just the first of many. In the last two decades, he's made a list of criminals and terrorists he believes the FBI cannot find because they did not know they exist and that they matter the most. Reddington calls it "The Blacklist".

It is one of the series I am following right now.

Katulad ng nasabi ko sa kabilang thread, merong shade ng Hannibal Lecter-Clarice Starling.  Hula ko nga tatay ni Elizabeth Keen si Red eh.

Astig lang siyang sumurrender ha?!  I am just curious on the timing of his surrender.  As one of FBI's most wanted criminal and the whole world has its eyes on him, he has his eyes on Keen.  Alam lahat ng tungkol sa buhay niya, even things that Keen does not know.

^ same here sis. Feeling ko din si red ang tatay ni elizabeth. Sana along the way eh hindi pumangit ang kwento kasi as of now, isa sya sa mga pinakamagandang bagong series na pinapanood ko.

It was even mentioned by the Villain of Episode 1 (forgot his name) that Red has this obsession with Keen. 

Malakas din ang kutob ko na tatay sya.  But di ba masyadong obvious if sya ang tatay, yan kase ang unang papasok sa isip ng viewers di ba? Masyadong giveaway yung plot na ito kaya I'm thinking there's a connection between Red and Keen but not a father-daughter relationship.

another theory would be that Red is somewhat connected to Keen's parents. Was it mentioned kung patay o buhay pa yung parents ni Keen?

^ tama ka din dyan sis. kung iisipin mo kasi baka tatay nya kasi grabe ang obsession nya dito at ang dame nayng alam, personal na mga bagay about keen. pero, true naman na parang pabigay na yung plot kung ganun nga na tatay sya ni keen. kasi yun nga ang iisipin ng tao. nalito na ako, diba? hehe.

parang di nabanggit. pero iniwan sya ng parents nya diba, parang yan lang ang nabanggit. di ko masyadong nagets yung scar nya sa kamay.

Pero sobrang giveaway nga if yan ang plot.

At may similarities sya sa Silence of the Lambs as Sis Sima mentioned.

^ yes, iniwan ni Red ang family nya. kaya din naisip ko na baka sya ang tatay ni Keen. tapos criminal din ang tatay ni Keen diba. hindi ba may nabanggit sya na parang naaalala nya yung dad nya dahil dun sa sigat. basta parang ganyan, when she was talking dun sa batang kinidnap? or baka mali lang intindi ko.

pero may nabasa ako na review, Keen gets strength from that scar. so, sana ipakita how she got that scar.

^yes sis yun yung sinabi niya dun sa bata.  Red asked her about the scar too di ba.  Ayy parang talagang tatay niya si Red!


Eto sis yung similarities - si Red and Hannibal are both Criminals who are somewhat assisting the FBI.  Clarice Starling and Elizabeth Keen are both new to the Bureau, and they were specifically requested.

^ owww okay. paano naman naging similar ang silence of the lambs sa hannibal (tv series)? dahil ba cannibals sila pareho? nagets ko na yung dito sa the black list. haha. nakakalito ba sis, pero baka nga di nya tatay? kasi bakit obvious naman masyado?

^Di ko pa napapanuod yung hannibal series. Siguro one thing na pareho about Hannibal Series and Silence of the Lambs is the main character Hannibal Lecter.  Takot ako panuorin yan Sis kase nakakatakot yung pagiging serial killer niyang si Lecter di ba kumakain sya ng tao. Ewww!

I think they will put a twist sa story, kase nga masyado naman obvious if mag-ama sila.  Unless tamad mag-isip ang writers ng show na ito.

Today ang 2nd episode nito di ba?

^ wag naman sana tamad sis, kasi maganda ang unang episode. sana wag yung tipong papanget along the way. haha. oo pareho sila kumakain ng tao. hindi ko din kinaya ang ka-creepyhan ng hannibal (tv series). takot ako talaga.

Hindi masyado tumatak sa akin ang relationship ni Elizabeth and Red ano ba yan, ang slow ko hahah! I had no clue that they could be father-daughter, till you girls mentioned it!!!    Mas na intriga kasi ako sa asawa ni Elizabeth. That one was a loooot like Alias to me and I wanna know what's the story there.

So, three things siya for me: it's like Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal and Alias. BTW, Hannibal is an adaptation of Silence of the Lambs, sila talaga dalawa "magkapatid" na kwento, so to speak.  Yung Silence of the Lambs, may prequel pa yan, yung Red Dragon, which also starred Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal. (Just in case you wanna watch...and the TV show is so much more gory than the movies).

Nakulangan pa ako ng konti with the actress playing Elizabeth. Couldn't figure out what it was na hindi ako convinced.... till someone on my Twitter pointed out that she's like a Disney character (mala Selena Gomez), na tinapat sa character ni James Spader, who was too big for everyone in the show. That's exactly how I felt!

^for me naman Sis naaalala ko yung leading lady dun sa Chuck, kahawig niya kase, and since Chuck is action comedy parang di ko maseryoso ang acting niya kapag nakikita ko sya sa The Blacklist

Her wig is starting to annoy me!!! I wonder why they won't let the actress just go with her short hair? Bata masyado face?

Second episode is better than the first. Episode was parang Thomas Crown Affair ang nangyari. And I am really loving the background music used in this show.

Saw the 2nd episode last night.  I was thinking that she will do the 3rd choice regarding how she will react to her husband's secret identity.

^ tama, lalo nung napanood nya yung video. pero, mahal kaya talaga sya ng asawa nya? hayy... hindi ko alam kung ano ang motibo talaga ni red for helping the fbi. hindi ko din alam kung matutuwa ako sakanya. haha. torn. pero at least, eto si madam activist eh deserving sa pagkakapatay sakanya. jusme, doble kara ka mam!

nakita ko sa post ni sis mindy na ang taas ng ratings ng The Blacklist. so, possible na may season 2 eto. 11+ million viewers. clap clap!

Magaling naman kase si James Spader, na sa tingin ko sya nagdadala ng show.  Even when he was in Boston Legal gustong gusto ko sya.

It was nice to see Isabella Rossellini guest star on The Blacklist.  At her age, she looks better than ever. 

If Red is to be believed, (so far he is proving himself to be very, very credible), everything about what Elizabeth Keen knows about her life is all a lie.  Her father was a lowly criminal. I will go on a limb here and speculate na baka friend ito ni Red at pinaalaga lang siya dito knowing that he (Red) will always be on the run being a high-profile criminal.

Liz is getting comfortable with Red ha?  She opened up to him about her husband.  CLOSE!  LOL!  Sabagay, he was the one who warned her that her husband is not what he pretends to be.

Naiintrigga lang ako sa end game nitong si Red.  Unti-unti, he is turning in his frenemies to the FBI without their knowledge.  Kasi si Floriana, first name basis sila eh.  At yung mama doon sa first episode.  OK given na mamamatay na lang siya but still he foiled his plan.  I think he collaborated with the people in his blacklist at one point in time.

Yung kinuha niyang bodyguard na lalaki, he has the same mark as that of the woman who was a victim of the slave trade so does that mean he was also a slave?
