oo nga, this is also my question.... i remember learning about the birds & the bees from my older sister when i was 9 and it really shocked me.
reacting with "yyuuucckkkk!!" "Ewwwwww!" & even told her i dont wanna get married or make babies at all...lol!
So,kelan nga kaya no?
but my daughter already asked "how do you make babies?" to her daddy while the two of them were walking in a crowded area of the mall..andami nga raw nakarinig at tumingin nahiya tuloy hubby ko...hehhehe mga 6 yrs old ata sya nun...
that was during the time kasi na she & her younger sis were asking for a baby brother. & we were kinda explaining na the two of them are enough na for us heheh and that we'll just get them a pet instead.
with regards naman sa "boys stuff", i started talking to my daughter about it when they started asking things like, why me & their dad got married, how the 2 of us met, why we fell in love...etc
then from there, after i tell our story, sabay explain na rin about friendship, love, diff kinds of guys, etc....but i also emphasize na studies ang priority, &they still have a looooong way to go (they're only 7 & 5!)...naku mahabang kwentuhan yun coz andaming followup questions! Lol!
i really think madaming opportunities na pwede natin maturuan at maguide mga anak natin, if we just always talk to them...
and also, when they read books esp mga disney princess...i always tell them it's a fairy tale. not every guy is a prince charming (like daddy) and not everything is solved by a kiss and then they live happily ever after. tapos uulitin ko na naman yung mga sinasabi ko na sa kanila before....
even sa songs they sing...like when my eldest was singing "i knew you were trouble" ..i asked her if she knows what it's about..no daw..so i told her..then she stopped singing it and sang "halo" instead...lol!
so i think these young kids who sing and dance the "uso" things that are inappropriate for their age.....how will they know kung ok yun or hindi kung walang nagsasabi, at yun ang nakikita nila eh...so they assume it's ok....
it's up to us parents to guide them...
naku sencia na napahaba kwento ko....sana may makapag-share na mga mommies how and when they talk to their kids about s3x naman...
