That is the policy for agency, that all earning record goes to agency. When you accepted the Odesk agreement, there is a clause on the terms that says

"Freelancer and Agency agree and acknowledge that Agency's employees or contract personnel are not employees of oDesk or Client. Agency is solely responsible for all wages, costs, unemployment insurance, compensation insurance, and expenses of Agency's employees or contract personnel and has the sole and exclusive right to supervise and control them. Agency acknowledges and agrees that neither it, nor any of its employees or agents, shall have any claim under this Agreement for overtime pay, sick leave, holiday or vacation pay, retirement benefits, worker's compensation benefits, unemployment benefits, or any other employee benefits of any kind from oDesk or Client."

What you can do is ask your agency to provide you certificate of earnings. I just thought about it right now for my contractors, I raised this one to Odesk and will see how possible it will be. Will let you know once I get hold of their feedback.

Just verified with Odesk, if they can provide the COE directly. And heto yung response

"Basically, we're not providing COE for earnings from an agency since the payment is not directly going to the freelancers account, but it will go through their agency's account.Our system is only recording freelancers earnings that are being paid directly to their account. "

But good thing is they will forward this to their development team for a review. For now, the best thing is to request certificate from the agency, that is if they provide.

^^^Oo, pakikipagsapalaran talaga ang pagkuha ng visa para sa ating freelancers. Ako nun, when I applied for a Japan visa, oDesk certificate of earnings lang, tapos bank certificate showing at least a 300k balance. Wala ako ITR. Na-approve naman. After I got married, inindicate ko na lang sa visa application ko na housewife ako, tapos bank certificate na lang. Na-approve din. I think it helps my case na marami nang tatak ang passport ko mula nung kid/teenager pa ako.

Other things that I heard have helped freelancers get visas (different countries):
- Insurance policies
- Credit card statements
- Car/home loan payments
- Stock portfolios
- Land titles
- Rental contracts

Hello sisses! I registered at Odesk 2 weeks ago, and landed o jobs after 4 days. PA and Creative Writer. Since bago lang ako sa Odesk, dami ko naencounter na mga manloloko lang. Sisses, dapat ba dun lang talaga sa Verified ang payment method magaapply pag newbie? Marami kasing unverified na maganda yung job description. Nakakatempt applyan. Salamat!

sis coquettish16: Congrats sa new job! Mas advisable, even for oDesk 'veterans', na sa Verified ang payment method magapply, especially pag hourly contracts. PERO, I have to agree with you na may mga tempting offers talaga na mga non-verified clients. I think I have applied sa isang non-verified client before, Australian, and he was one of the best clients I ever had. Natapos na yung contract namin, pero everytime pag may writing project sya, ako pa din binabalikan nya. So it's a gamble if you apply with an unverified client, and get hired. Pero sometimes, the risk is worth it. What I did was look at three things: one - when they signed up on oDesk. Kapag recently lang, tipong one month or a bit over a month pa lang, I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. Baka pinaprocess pa lang. Pero pag tipong a year or so na, ay, I look at number two: Other hires and open jobs. If he'd worked with a number of people, with good feedback, then plus point. You should always look at Feedback naman even with verified clients. Pero, pag madami na sya hires before, pero unverified pa din, mapapaisip pa din ako kung bakit. Does he take payments out of the the oDesk platform (like thru paypal)? Bawal kasi yon. Pag nahuli, puede ka din masuspend. And number three: I ask directly kung bakit di pa sya verified. May time before na kaya unverified at that time si client, e nagkaproblema pala with the credit card at inaayos pa. In fairness naman, after a few days, verified na sya. Pag open na sumagot si client, that's a good sign. Wala syang tinatago eh. You'd know naman if a client is being honest with his reasons.

yes pwede po ito sa part time. everything happens online, mula sa paghahanap ng work, interview, submission, pati payment

So I tried applying for a Smart postpaid plan today, and after submitting so many requirements, I was only approved for the lowest plan. And that's after showing that I pay, from my own bank account, for my husband's Globe postpaid line amounting to 2k each month, our 5mbps internet bill, and our utilities. Wala daw kasi ako "payslip." Diosmio. Kawawa na naman ang freelancer. Haha. Mas nahirapan pa ako mag-apply sa Smart compared sa pagkuha ng mga tourist visas ko.

^Naapproved ako kahapon lang for plan 999 sa smart. I only submitted 2 valid ids plus 3 months bank statement. Right then and there naapprove ako dahil daw bestfriend ko yung customer nila na ok magbayad. I just got lucky. Di na sila nagverify sa bank and all that.

Try ka sis sa ibang Smart branch.

^Nyeee, okay, akala ko naman kung ano kaya ka na-approve. Pati pala diyan eh kailangan "may kakilala" ka rin. Sa Globe kasi wala ako naging problema. Approve agad and konti lang requirements. To be fair to Smart, sabi naman nila sa akin pwede naman ako mag-pa-upgrade ng plan on the fourth month. Ayoko lang maghintay.

just got a fixed rate contract earlier. medyo hesitant pa ako if legit siya or not kasi he was asking what payment method i prefer anf if okay lang daw ba na paypal tapos hindi pa siya odesk verified nung time na yun. buti na lang nung sinabi kong prefer ko na odesk para hindi namin ma-violate yung odesk term eh pumayag naman siya at nagpa-verify agad, hinire din niya ako agas and upfront payment pa yung ginawa niya. medyo mataas din yung rate na binigay niya considering na very simple lang yung project. if no issues daw dun sa ginawa ko, he will hire me again next week. yung binigay niya sa aking project kanina is mukhang homework/project nila sa school. sana magtuloy-tuloy yung projects from him.

on another note, anyone here working for aussie clients? kumusta naman sila as a boss? medyo nanghihinayang kasi ako at may gusto sanang mag-hire sa akin for full time work but i had to decline kasi may day job (technically, night) din ako. i was asking if may part time sana kaya lang mukhang wala. sayang talaga at mukhang okay yung client and okay din yung rate. can't leave my current job lang talaga at it pays well and maganda ang benefits.

I've worked with a couple of Aussie clients, and 'return' clients ko na talaga sila. I also have a new Aussie client who's work principle is just amazing. So far 100% great ang experience ko with them.

Magaan sila katrabaho, positive ang outlook palagi, generous, and considerate din. They're very clear and concise din with instructions.
