True, CDing can be overwhelming at first. And true, minsan nakakatamad talaga maglaba! Lol. Ako I keep my laundry routine simple lang, if you browse kasi sa mga CDing groups, parang ang complicated sa wash routine no? Basta ako i wash them like I would sa ibang clothes ni baby. Spin for 15 mins, rinse 3-5x, spin dry, the end. So para lang akong may one extra laundry load.

Re: your stash, I suggest you try what you have first, if okay kay baby then good. Saka ka na magdagdag. If hindi sya hiyang sa material, you may try other brands. Hiyangan kasi talaga eh, so I can't really recommend one must have brand.

Kung night time CD, i think pag newborn you won't need this pa since you will really have to change baby's nappy every so often. Hindi mo pa kelangan ng pangmatagalan talaga kasi most likely baby will poop often pa even at night. For presko time, you can always use some good old trusty lampin. I used lampin a lot with my LO until around 4 months. Yun lang, you have to change after every pee. Then we transitioned to fitteds/trainers na for daytime, para lang tong panty na makapal para maabsorb ang wiwi. Pag direcho na matulog si baby sa gabi, at hindi na kelangan palitan ng nappy at night, you may try using doublers/boosters for insert. Pwedeng doblehin mo yung bamboo charcoal mo, or you can add other boosters like hemp or zorb.

To be honest mas hassle talaga ang CD vs disposable. Lalo na pag nasa labas, bukod sa sobrang bulky sa bag, ang hassle pa pag may poop. But as long as you have a nice sturdy wetbag wala kang magiging problem. Personally, my main motivation in using CD is yung basura. Natutuwa ako when I know na hindi na kami nakakadagdag sa mga basura. May time na nagdisposable kami for almost a week and nanghihinayang talaga ako pag napupuno yung trash bin namin ng nappies. Parang gusto kong magsorry kay mother earth hehe

Once nakaestablish ka na ng routine with CDs, it will definitely be easier. Tsaka yung totoo it's really just like disposables, ganun lang din sya gamitin except you don't dispose it.

After nun, I plan to try prefolds or lampin with wipeable covers muna. ^Ariel sunrise fresh gamit kong detergent, minsan Cycles. Covers and lampin are ideal for newborn, basta damihan mo na lang muna ang lampin stash mo. Pag nandyan na si baby, mas magkakaidea ka na kung pano mamaximize ang CDs mo. Hehe. Sa ngayon kasi iniisip mo pa lang, basta pag nandyan na you'll have an idea what to do na. Turuan mo na lang si MIL mo kung paano.

Just received the CDs I ordered online. I'm starting out with 5 pcs of cover types lang muna. 2 quigle bum and 3 happy flute covers/ai2s. Wanted to try babyland kaya lang ang hirap na maghanap online.

So far I have 3 dozen lampins to serve as flats. Meron din pala ako 3 pcs hemp blend inserts which came with the happy flute covers. Nagulat ako na ang kapal niya pala. Mga ilang months na kaya si baby bago ko ito magamit?

May question pala ako about using flats with covers sa mga newborn. Kailangan pa ba gumamit ng snappi? O pwedeng kahit wala na?

Di na kailangan ng Snappi sis. basta ipwesto mo lang ng maayos sa wetzone ng baby ang lampin. Especially with newborns, for me, di na kailangan ng Snappi, kasi di pa naman sila magalaw.

Yung hemp sis depende sa output ng baby mo. We started using boosters at around 3-3.5 months for overnight use. Hemp and zorb ang meron kami. Bamboo charchoal/cotton terry + hemp/zorb ang gamit namin for night time. I also use a single layer of zorb for my fitteds pag daytime.

For me, I think necessary ang snappi or any diaper clamp for newborn, unless ang cover mo eh newborn size. Pero if you're going to use one size covers, you need a snappi/clamp. Maluwag pa kasi yan even at the smallest setting, so most likely maglileak yan. When  my daughter was newborn, I experimented with different folds ng flats and made sure secure sya before ko lagyan ng cover. It may also help if gumamit ka ng stay dry liner, ako I used suede liners. Pwede ding disposables para hindi mahirap maglaba lalo na pag may poop

Nandito na si baby! Gave birth last Saturday. Naka disposable pa siya kasi may meconium pa na lumalabas.

Mukhang kailangan ko nga ng snappi kasi 6 lbs lang si baby kaya malaki pa sa kanya ang CDs. May cheaper version ba ng snappi? Or saang shop ok bumili kahit 1 pc lang?

^yes sis frequent din ako sa shopee. Yung first set ko of tiny bum sa shopee ko yun pinurchase. Free shipping sila pag 250 and up... pero depende to sa location ng seller. Usually naman kapag Metro Manila or nearby province free shipping sila.

I'm not sure kung strip na yung ginawa ko before, gumamit lang ako ng dishwashing liquid sa laundry.. nagka leaking problem kasi dati yung ibang CDs namin kasi ilang washes na ginamitan ng fabcon (hindi ko alam na ginamitan pala). Kaya triny ko gamitan ng dishwashing liquid. Once ko pa lang ginawa, around 5mos na kami using CDs nun. Naging okay naman ulit. I think di naman necessary ang stripping kung okay naman ang wash routine mo..

^Yes sis, yun ang reason kung bakit di ako nags strip. nabasa ko sa isang mommy blog yun.
maayos maglaba si yaya ng nappies. walang amoy hanggang ngayon, and she likes using them dahil hindi daw nagtatapon ng pera, unlike sa disposable diapers.

by the way, she stopped using covers na. na appreciate nya na ang pockets ngayon kasi stay dry. happy ako kasi na ma maximize na ang paggamit ng cloth diapers ni baby. unlike dati na laging naka covers+lampin, at ako lang gumagamit ng pockets kay baby.

so happy about CDing because I really feel like we are contributing in caring for the environment.

Mga sis, what's the correct way of handwashing PUL covers? Need pa ba iprep for first use? Todo search ako sa net kaya lang iba iba ang sinasabi. Di ko rin masearch sa MCNP group. 🙄

US brands (charlie banana, bum genius, etc) range from 800-1500/pc. PULs ganyan ang range, with inserts. Pag fitteds usually 300-500 each, hybrid fitteds nasa 600-1500, again depende sa brand.
