^When I stayed in Gangnam before at Renaissance Seoul, I only did coex in that area. Other days, I headed elsewhere. My trip this past Nov naman, I didn't venture into Gangnam either kasi dun na ko palagi past visits nagsstay so I opted to stay in Myeongdong for a change.

I got my visa na and was surprised I was issued multiple 3 years!  2nd time pa lang to Korea and No US visa yet..

my husband and I are planning to go to Seoul this December (for his 30th birthday)... how cold is cold ba? And we're bringing our 1+ yr old with us, ano ba magagandang theme parks puntahan? I read Lotte World is crowded and mas maganda pa daw Everland? How true? And meron ba silang parang mga indoor resorts?

nami island is a must visit for those first timers in seoul. ang romantic ng dating sakin parang lovers kami ni hubs dun 😊 i really like the place medyo malayo nga lang travel time by train. it took us almost 2hrs from the gangnam stn. i also like insadong. andun kasi maraming souvenir stores. we also went to capicapi loom loom (rilakkuma store & coffee shop). my youngest kasi is a so fond of rilakkuma, nagpapabili mga stuffs. you will feel like a kid again sa cuteness ng mga items at pati na din sa ambience ng store 😊 gangnam area, parang makati. dun kasi nakabook yun hotel ng conference nila hubs... near coex mall is bongeunsa temple & also yun seoul world trade ctr...

follow up questions:

1. how is the transportation? madali lang ba aralin ang train and bus?
2. do they speak some english?
3. we don't speak korean at all and maiintindihan ba nila yun pagppronounce namin ng places like Changdeokgung etc? Di ko nga yun mapronounce e

^ Been there once before:

1. Yes. Get a copy of the metro map sa airport or bring a colored printout. Di ako mahilig magbus kasi parang mas convenient yung metro system nila.

2. Yes. the younger ones. Mahirap kausapin the oldies though.

3. Naiintindihan naman, pero swertihan din. And ginawa ko noon, nagprint ako ng names ng places (with address) in Hangul. Tapos papakita ko na lang sa cab driver or pag magtatanong ako ng direction. O kaya naman, pasulat mo sa receptionist sa hotel nyo. (Although madali din naman matuto magsulat and magbasa ng Hangul. Pwede mo rin aralin before going there.)

Flying to Seoul in 2 days to watch musicals. Yay, namiss ko don.

@oreo08: madali lang mag-train sa kanila. Mabait naman sila so pwede ka magtanong. If naka-iphone ka, download an app with their subway map, pagnaligaw ka pakita mo lang sa mga tao dun, they'd gladly help you like what sis Frozen Toes said, ask yung younger ones. Mas nakakaintindi and nakakasalita sila ng english.

Mga sis.. Kabalik ko lang from korea last feb19.. Uberrr lamig! Hahaha! Wearing 4 layers! Lamig pa din! I was tempted to buy na nga a bubble jacket kaso nagkuripot ako kasi minsan lang ako pumunta sa country at winter time.. Lol..

kami naman last sunday lang umuwi. weather is good during daytime, tolerable yun lamig as long as naka thermals lang & a good winter jacket. but minsan biglang lamig pag late in the afternoon na as in parang you're holding blocks of ice sa mga kamay mo 😄. dagdag pa yun wind factor...
yup, i usually ask the younger ones sa mga train stations. they can understand or speak english naman... and don't forget to ask for the tax rebate if your purchases amounted to more than 30k won. claim it sa airport. dagdag pambili din ng mga souvenirs 😊

Download the Jihachul app for Seoul subway. The best! It'll give you the schedule, shortest route and fares. It's easier to speak English with the younger crowd but it's still advisable to carry with you a Hangeul version of the place you'll be visiting. Even their police don't speak English much!

by the way sisses i have two co-workers who applied at different times and were given different visas. Both are single, the first one applied just this dec, it was her first time to go to korea, she was given til 2017 (and she's not even planning on going back). The other one, applied just this jan.... the more korean addict who loves the culture, the k-dramas... was given a single entry visa. The ironies of life nga naman

We went to Tokyo before naman and di naman kami nangailangan magask for directions... I haven't properly looked into the transportation system of Seoul though so di ko sure kung kasing confusing ng Tokyo or what but I'm sure we'll manage.

Ang worry ko lang is, we'll be going first week of December. It will be freezing! My hubby and I wala namang problema pero si baby (1 yr old and 4 months then) ang worry ko. The coldest countries we've been in was when we went to Amsterdam, Switzerland, Austria ng January. Snow kung snow. Di ko lang sure if Seoul will be colder then!
