What I do:1. SAVE every pay day. This is a must. I have 4 bank accounts in Pinas. Every month, nilalagyan ko sila alternately.2. Invest.Diversify your investments. I have investment in real estate, UITFs, stocks +insurance. I have set up my emergency fund before I dipped into UITFs. Its important to me that I have cash on hand talaga. 3. wag makuntento sa isang kita. mag sideline. be on the constant lookout for more income opportunities. As of today, sideline ko humahabol na sa sweldo ko every month.4. Pay all CC balances on time.5. limit your wants. this is sooooo hard to do but self control lang. What I do when I get tempted to shop online as it is very convenient plus cheaper pa than in malls, is I browse threads like this to inspire me to be financially free... then nawawala na my craving to click CHECK OUT sa shopping cart ko.. I agree that having a husband who lacks financial literacy can set you back. Thank heavens that hindi maluho hubby ko pero super kuntento na sya na paycheck lang inaasahan. I, on the other hand, would love to do business in my spare time. gusto kong rumaket ng rumaket pero I cannot do that kasi naman my hubby needs me at home. Plus, very generous din asawa ko. he doesnt know how to say No. Opposite kami. Ako, di ako nahihiya mag tinda, sya mahiyain... kaya yun setback sya for me...marami pa sana ako magagawa na sideline if only my husband had the same mindset.
Hi, ladies. And guys, if there's any. I have made a decision to become my own financial planner. I figured in educating myself more, I minimize the risks of investments and I am eliminating agents to do it for me. I want to do it by myself. How about you? What are the steps that you take in order for you to be financially free? Do you have specific plans on how to get to your ultimate dreams? Do you consult financial planners or take the risks by yourself?
3. Get out of Debt.. every means of Debt .. like credit card,, housing loan is a no no unles you will put it on a business..I don't agree with this. pwede mo pang i-invest ang cash mo to something else na mas mataas ang interest na ma-ga-gain mo versus sa binabayaran mong interest sa loan. like you can invest the money to something that has a much higher interest.having debt is not bad. having CC is not bad at all, basta marunong ka gumamit. for myself, hindi ako nagpapa interest sa bank, I always make sure, I pay in full and on time, at the end of the day nagagamit ko pa mga rewards ko to buy something else for free. Saang kinukuha ng bank ang pambayad sa mga nake-claim na rewards using points, galing yan sa interest na ibinabayad ng mga subscribers na hindi marunong gumagamit ng CC. In other words, these people na hindi marunong gumagamit ng CC are the ones paying for my free items for housing loan, hindi naman lahat ng tao can afford to buy cash, and for some it might take almost their lifetime bago maka-ipon to pay in cash. hindi masama mag housing loan, pwede mo naman pa-ikliin ang terms by paying the loan applied to the principal lagi. having no debts doesn't mean you are financially-free, maybe utang-free, but might not be financially-free.
