^ What do you plan to see ba sis?
Last year, we did PP also bago dumiretso ng Siem Reap. Stayed for 1night. Almost after lunch na rin kami nakapag umpisa ng tour. We just hired a tuktuk driver to bring us to Killing Fields, Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, Independence Monument. Tapos nagpababa na lang kame within Royal Palace. Medyo hapon na yun. Then sa gabi naman, we went walking along Sisowath Quay sabay dinner na rin.

sis Helga, eto mga tourist spots na puntahan sana namin Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, National Museum and Sisowath Quay. mag hire na lang din kami ng tuktuk para puntahan ang mga yan, how much ang rate nila sis? Ilang hours kaya kakainin ng mga places na yan? Iniisip pa rin namin if mag stay kami over night since meron pala sleeper bus ng 11pm going to SR.

Meron bang cheap hostel or guesthouse sa PP? Thank!

Kakagaling ko lang dito last week. Grabe lang, ang ganda ganda dito. Nagsisi ako kung bakit 4nights 3 days lang kami. Sana at least 7 days kasi sobrang ganda. Inabot ako ng halfday sa isang temple lang, at kulang na kulang ang whole day para bisitahin ang Angkor Wa.t. So Di ko napuntahan yung ibang temples at yung mt. bakheng. Hayz. Tapos ang sarap pa mag bike. First time ko mag bike sa kalsada mismo. Pero ok naman kasi puro tuktuk, motor at bike ang nasa kalsada. Pero yung mga bus at ibang sasakyan karaniwan mga tourist lang laman. Wala lang, gusto ko bumalik pero next time talaga 7 day pass na talaga kukunin ko bukod pa yung pagba-bike. Dami kong di napuntahan Para sakin, especially kung mahilig ka sa archaeology like me, at least 10 days talaga ang kelangan sa Siem Reap alone. Di ko pa napuntahan yung Phnom Penh.

may part na bawal sis. may ibang may bantay sa entrance then nakalagay dun yung mga bawal. mostly naka elephant pants yung mga tao dun. manipis lang na pants yun at maraming nagbebenta dun.

Bumili ako nyang Cambodian pants. Maginhawa sya suotin at may garter sa laylayan.  Naubos kasi damit ko kakapalit. Ang init kasi at tagaktak talaga ang pawis. Ok sya sa pag visit ng temples kasi hindi makakasuot yung mga insekto. Medyo madaming insekto sa temples dahil napaka green ng paligid.

just got back from our siem reap trip it was amazing! visited angkor [textspeak!], bayon temple, bantay srei among many others... in terms of sightseeing panalo talaga!  tahimik and wala mashadong pollution. we stayed at borei angkor resort and spa superb ang service nila and very maasikaso and warm ang people. i love their culture! charming ang mga maliliit na cafes and restos

Girls anong footwear ang irerecommend niyo sa pag-explore sa temples? Siem Reap will be part of our Indochina tour this coming June-July. Iniisip ko kasi kung anong best na suoting footwear sa trip. Yung comfy at hindi bulky.

We stayed at Fancy Guesthouse at PP, 25USD for 3pax/room. If I remember it correctly parang we paid 18USD (divided into 3pax) for tuktuk service, pick-up from Mekong Express Terminal in PP as well as Half day tour including Killing Fields, Toul Sleng Genocide Museum, Royal Palace and Independent Monument.
For  Sisowath Quay, nilakad lang naming ito nun gabi for dinner/night-out from our accommodation.

We'll be going to SR on June.  I'm already excited and planning our itinerary! I'll be asking some questions ha, mga sis!  Here's one:

1.  The 5J flight arrives 9:30PM at SR.  Given airport and hotel check-in procedures, we might have to go out for late dinner.  Are there restaurants open til midnight or even beyond midnight?  Or...is there a good restaurant in the airport to get 'take away' food?

Share ko lang din.

We arrived in Siem Reap late night from bus ride from Ho Chi Min.  We stayed in Mandalay Inn.  Kindly check as they we highly recommend the place.  First, they are a Tripadvisor winner for 2012 or 2013.  Second, very nice and affordable sa mga budget travelers like us.  Third, walking distance from Pub Street and night market.  Plus, friendly and accommodating staff :-)

That night, we headed immediately to Pub Street :-)

We booked our tour in the said hotel in which you have a lot of choices depending on your preferences and schedule.  My husband and I  only opted for one whole day because we have to travel back again to HCM at midnight.

So, the next day, we ate breakfast at Mandalay Inn (affordable din naman) while waiting for the driver for our tour.  By the way, we opted for the short circuit only.  Sulit na ang 1 whole day; tiring but definitely enjoyed the tour.

After the tour, explored all the night markets for souvenirs and pasalubongs :-)

We went here via the Mekong Express bus from Ho Chi Minh. Travel was 7 hours and twas kinda tiring. We stopped overnight in Phnom Penh first before taking another 7-hour bus ride to Siem Reap.

I noticed PP was a bit more expensive than SR. Tuktuk driver charge $1/person everytime you ride the tuktuk. Sometimes they'll try to charge higher so you have to haggle! In Siem Reap, it's only $2 per tuktuk (about 4-5 pax can ride).

In PP, try Town View Hotel! Nice, big rooms and good breakfast buffet spread. We didn't like our hotel in SR though. Checked in at Jayavara Resort. The water smelled and tasted like rust. The room looks old. :-/

Book a tour with the tuktuk drivers there. You can haggle with the price naman. Catch the Sunrise in Angkor W-a-t. Super awesome view!! We would've wanted to catch the sunset but we were too tired from walking the whole day.

Food (in Siem Reap) - try AnnAdya Restaurant! Their Cambodian Steak with Kampot peppet sauce is the bomb!! Mr. Grill's also served yummy food. Drink lots of fresh coconut juice and sweet fruits!

To those who have stayed sa Bou Savy, yung triple a/c room ba nila pwede na sa 4 persons? Yung room rates ba nila sa website, already inclusive na ng breakfast?

We'll be going to HCM-SR on the 1st week of July, and as early as now, we want to estimate how much yung magagastos namin.

If we hire a tuktuk, kasya ba kaming 4 dun? And what if maghire din kami ng guide? Dun din ba sasakay ang guide sa tuktuk? If yes, kasya ba ang 5 sa isang tuktuk?

^ usually 4 yung gusto nilang maximum so haggle na 5 nalang kayo in one tuktuk. Ganun ginawa namin eh, kasya naman kami. The tuktuk driver will be your tour guide. Pero don't expect na sasama sya sa loob ng temples. Samin kasi he gave a short history/ background before kami pumasok sa temple. Then iniwan na kami, bibigyan lang kayo ng instructions na magkita kayo sa other end nung temple. May additional payment if you wanted to catch the sunrise in Angkor W-a-t.

^ Their triple room is good for 3pax talaga sis, maliit yun 3beds nila. THough you can try to contact Mr. Bovourn and try to work it out with him. Mabait naman yun and very quick to reply on mails. Rates include breakfast (set meal you will choose from their menu).
