Just came back from Cambodia. Grabe, ngayon lang ako nakapag-travel na super na-inlove ako sa lugar. Must see yung sunrise sa Angkor w a t. napakaganda niya. Tapos yung mga tao ang babait at compassionate nila. Ang sisipag pa. Nagtataka mga friends ko kung bakit I keep on raving about this place knowing me kase parang "city" girl ako pero super nagandahan ako sa siem reap. must see talaga.

Just came back from phnom penh and siem reap, napuntahan namin yung mga trip namin puntahan in a span of 3 days only. yung hotel namin ngagamit lang para mag shower coz sa sleeper bus na kami natutulog lagi. Naabutan din namin yung sunrise sa angkor [textspeak!], ganda!

Hi guys, we'll be travelling to Siem Reap this Nov 8. and we'll be staying there for 2 days. just need to ask, do you guys think that we need a tour guide?? there's this tourguide asking us for USD$125 each for our 2 day itinerary, tatlo kami, (which i think is crazy) kasama na daw dun ang transpo and entrance fees to all the temples etc. (do the temples really have entrance fees?)

i'm getting worried kasi i first thought we would just be touring by ourselves now narining ko may kinakausap na sila thru email na tourguide (i'll post later his itinerary). Pls. help.

^ sis, parang mahal ang $125 each for tour guide and entrance fees. Get one na lang when you get there, then rent a car/tuktuk with driver.

Entrance pass for Angkor temples is only $40/pax for a 3-day pass. If one day pass, $20/pax lang.

2 Days Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: November 9th
Sunrise
1- AngkorWat
2- Angkor Thom (old capitol)
3- Bayon ( smiling faces temple)
4-Ta Prohm (tomd raider temple)
And also smaller temples within the circuit if you wish to visit.
Buffet Dinner and watching the Cambodian Apsara cultural traditional dance show. If you're interested, please let me know so I can make a good seats reservation for the dance show.
Day 2: November 10th
1- KOH KER
2- Beng Melea Temple:                                                                                                                                                                           Beng Melea (Indiana Jone's Temple), is a spectacular jungle temple around 70km drive to the northeast of Siem Reap. It is one of the "new" highlights of Cambodia, having only been cleared of land mines at the end of 2003. Built by Suryavarman II, in the style of AngkorWat; its scale is huge; being well over 1sq. kilometer within its moat. Approached by four causeway; Beng Melea appears to be a huge pile of rubble partially hidden in the trees. Once you get closer the high walls, the ancient Khmer Architecture reveals itself. Cloaked in vegetation and with few concessions to tourism; this temple looks like it would have done when the early French explorers found it. A new road linking Siem Reap to Beng Melea was cut through the jungle in 2003, and is now all paved, and you can see the countryside and everyday life of rural villages. It takes a little over an hour to drive there. Beng Melea is not yet on the main tourists trail but word is spreading fast; so come here now as this fabulous place will "NOT STAY'', like it for too long!!!!!
3- Tonle Sap Lake: (Biggest Freshwater Lake in Southeast Asia,) taking a boat tour to visit the fishing village and local life. Kompong Pluk stilted house / flooded forest or Kompong Kleang (stilted house up to 6-10 meter high and floating village).

Yup, anyway, mahal talaga si mr. tourguide. we'll just rent a car or tuktuk per day.

Will be back in Siem Reap come December. I stayed at Bou Savy last year. Oks naman yun place nila, but Im currently searching for a cheap accommodation na mas malapit sa old market, night market. Any suggestion mga sis?

We also stayed at Bou Savy last July. Usually nilalakad lang namin ang Night Market from Bou Savy. Pag natatamad na pag gabi na, tuktuk pero dapat $1 lang, di pwede sobra. hehe. Pwede rin i-bike kasi may bike rental naman bou savy. =)

We were there first week of October.  We stayed at Prohm Roth Inn, recommended kasi sya ng blogger friend ng friend ng brother ko.. Walking distance sa Pub Street, Old Market at Night Market.  We paid 25 usd/day.  Okay na sa ming apat ang room, me dalawang bed at air-conditioned.

Sis yung travel period ko sa cambodia is at end of sept next yr..
Ask ko lang ano yung pinakarecommended pagstay-an na inns or hotels yung mura lang pero ok naman.. Kahit tulugan lang basta ok naman yung cr at bed at safe yung place? Sa PP at SR ha?
Then nagpapasundo ba kayo sa mga hotel na to or sariling punta?
Tsaka ive read halos lahat dito kumukuha ng package tour sa hotels nila.. Mas adviseable ba yun sa mga first timers? Dalawa kasi lang kami ng frend ko parang dahil maiksi ang time we cant afford na maligaw.. E kaso lang baka pag tour limited naman ang time?

^ Last year, I stayed at Bou Savy Guesthouse in SR while sa PP sa Fancy Guesthouse naman. Both offered free pick up from the bus terminal. Also yun mga tuktuk driver na sinakyan namin, sila na rin yung naging toka na driver during our stay/trip. For PP, you just need a tuktuk/driver to drive you around while sa Siem Reap, particularly sa Angkor Complex, you need tuktuk/driver para maikot yun place. Nasa inyo na if you want to avail a service of a guide. IMO, mas oks na me guide to explain some history of the place at mas maayos ang itinerary kasi alam na nila pasikot sikot.

Ladies, question please for those who've been to Banteay Srei. Is it far from the city center/Angkor W a t area? Okay lang ba to take a tuktuk there or better a car? The hotel where we will be staying kasi provides complimentary tuktuks for their guests. So I'm thinking instead of getting a regular tuktuk tour, we'll just take advantage of the hotel tuktuk to go around.

ladies, we will be arriving in HCM airport on December 16 at 9:05, can anyone suggest nearest guesthouse to stay na malapit na rin sa mekong bus station? we will be traveling to siem reap kasi early morning.  thank you

Hello, malayo ang Banteay Srei sa AngkorWat area kaya usually may additional bayad
compared sa usual AngkorWat tour. Nag tuk tuk lang naman kami kasi mas enjoy sya. IMO, no need for a car. Mas authentic pag tuktuk. hehe.
