HONG KONG GUIDE (THREAD 34)

Spur of the moment HKG trip tomorrow with my daughter. Curious to see the newly renovated Mabuhay Lounge if it's any better than a few months back. And excited to try out PAL's new A321 aircraft. Their Mabuhay Class seats look like those of a private plane's.

Getting octopus cards for us as soon as we land then off we go to Harbour City and the space museum. I'll try if we still have energy to go to Elements/sky100 and citygate. We have the entire day to roam around the city and I've already taken her before to most of the major tourist attractions.  So anything goes na lang kami. My hubby's flying in not till midnight so I'm going to maximize the bonding time with my girl. =)  A treat for her getting straight  A's in school and being on the top ten in her class. Plus it's her bday.

Day 2 is for Ocean Park (ok, I've dreaded revisiting this park due to our awful previous experience spoiled by mainland visitors)  but I'm going to give it another try for my daughter as Disneyland is coming out of my ears already, nothing new except for Mystic Manor. Don't get me wrong. I love The Mouse as much as the next person, but having 4 kids and visiting Disney xx times a year, it can be quite tiring and boring. Plus the HKG Park is a whole lot smaller than its Western counterparts.

I'm looking forward to the shopping and food tripping this time around!  Happy trips, everyone!

dyann***, nag try ako mag mock book from MNL to HK via CebuPac. Roundtrip ticket costs 8,700 pesos (without checkin baggage pa ito and the Manila departure ay earliest and latest flight out ito). Disney ticket is roughly around 2,500 pesos (via Disney website ito). So with that, 11k pesos na iyan. Wala pang hotel accomodation. I guess sulit na ang package na na-quote sa inyo

@dyann, i guess kaya hiniwalay yun tax at airport fee pati baggage fee kasi wala naman ng kita ang travel agency dun. Sa hotel at airfare lang sila may komisyon. Kaya ok na yan presyo na bigay nila lalo na if maganda yun oras ng flight ninyo


Edited to add: ask mo rin sis baka pwede airfare at disneyland tickets na lang yun 2 kids. Sneak in na lang sila sa hotel dahil maliliit pa naman. Unless mag-extra bed kayo para sa mga bata.

Pchym kapag may kasamang bata mas okay sa shenzhen, mas mura din ang mga hotel don, mura ang magpa spa, pati pagkain. Yung visa sa pilipinas pede kumuha.

Pro nagbabasa basa na uli ako dito.  Disneyland and shopping [textspeak!] main iti namin. Tapos isama [textspeak!] mga hindi namin napuntahan last time like [textspeak!] shenzhen.

Thanks for your responses about the cts link as well as the rates being cheaper at goldencrown. Since we're looking at staying somewhere near the yau me tei station, to get to goldencrown, id have to go down at tst station right? Another thing, (this is kinda OT again) if i book my flight thru tiger air and I aail of their promo fare of only P888, would that exclude check-in of luggage?

^Normally for budget airlines, excluded ang check in baggage. Pero ang PAL express they offer 10kgs of FBA.

Hi mga sis, pahelp naman po. Will be staying sa holiday inn express kowloon east, medyo pricey ang train going there. 100+ per person. Meron bang cheaper way papunta dun? Bus kaya?

Pede din naman mag cab, 300 daw on way.. Fix na kaya yun or may dagdag pa?

Pinaka mura mag bus I'm not sure about the rate though. But airport to Mongkok is around 30+hkd.

We're set na on January. May available sana sa Hao's Inn for 6 pax kaso kasama kasi 2 kong pamangkin so baka masikipan kami so we decided to rent an apartment nalang thru Airbnb. Mabilis kausap yung may-ari tapos konti nalang idagdag namin sa apartment sa ibabayad namin sa Hao's Inn and we have the perfect place na. May kitchen, 2 bedrooms, living room, etc...

^^^ sa Disneyland, 100hkd lang ticket ng senior; Yung octopus card nila, 70hkd instead na 150hkd tapos konti lang ang bawas sa pamasahe.

Guys, for those of you who went with your kids in their strollers, did you guys have a difficult time travelling daily via MTR?
