@annamarie, no contention sis, hehe, ganun lang talaga siguro with the internet, we have a plethora of references, na minsan may opposing opinions. I just shared what i came up to, pero di ko naman din bet may matagal naka-insert sa vein, be it metal or plastic. And with IVG, konti lang naman siya, so it wouldn't take long na may naka-insert kasi konti lang meds na iaadminister.
@mvillas, tama tama, i couldn't agree more na dapat clean yung environment pag nag-administer, a gentle reminder sa mga nag-iinject in public places, most especially sa CR ng malls. Dapat keep in mind natin na para itong mini-invasive procedure, kasi we break through the skin, especially diretso pa sa circulation natin.
Relating to that lang, OC talaga ko sa IVG, i apply yung clean technique that i learned from nursing. Tuwing session ko, i set up a clean field sa table using several facial tissues, tapos dun ko pinapatong lahat ng materials needed, anything na malabas sa field na yun, considered dirty na, and needs to be discarded, or sanitized.
I alcoholize and/or wash the tourniquet with betadine wash din everytime, tapos meticulously binabalot sa tissue after use, para di madumihan. I wash the site na iinjectan with betadine wash, to ensure na disinfected talaga. My bf who administers also cleans his hands with betadine wash prior to IV session. Trying to be super safe, mahirap na madali ng infection, lalo na regularly nagtutusok.

I was scheduled for IVG nung friday, pero bumagyo so di nakapunta si bf, came saturday, di din siya nakapunta kasi need niya mag-linis ng house nila dahil nabaha sila, so hindi ko kinaya, kasi nasira ang EOD sched ko, di ko natiis, at nag-self inject ako, thank goodness, shoot naman with flying colors wahaha
came sunday kahapon, as originally scheduled session ulit, and si bf na gumawa. And today, sobrang tempted ako na mag-session ulit, kaya lang di ko na tinuloy kasi magiging 3 days straight nakong double dose, pero gustong gusto ko talaga. Started ko nga 4th box ko kahapon, and parang gusto siyang ubusin this week, adik lang
nakakainis naman kasi mga tao dito sa bahay, ampuputi eh tsk. Haaaay, patience.. Di ako closet, so yung mga napapagsabihan ko na i started gluta, mga 98% said na maputi na daw ako, at ba't pa daw ako ggluta. Pero ba't ganun, di ko dama.
