^nah they have seatbelts naman. and besides, yun baby ko hindi talaga nagpababa nasa lap ko lang and naka seatbelt kahit tulog.

there's a reason bakit inaalis sa bassinet yun babies kapag may turbulence, take off and landing kasi nga hindi safe. kelangan naka seatbelt sila like the grown ups.

@oreo08, sis after our HK flight experience which I mentioned sa pedia niya we were told nga to start training our baby to sleep on his own na walang hele.  He started doing it though when he was 10mos old na, before that Ayaw talaga. So yeah, it helped na walang hele or anything during our US flight.

Re sleeping through the night.. Naku, how I wish wala nang feedings in between. I asked nga his pedia last week when can I expect this kaya lang my circumstance daw (being 8mos pregnant) causes this reaction na "magpa-baby" ang 15mo old boy ko. So hopefully, when I give birth this April eh straight sleep na with no feeding.  What happens now is that when he goes to bed around 8:30-9pm, he would still ask for milk even though he just had dinner around 7-7:30pm. Then, he would ask again around 1am and 6am.. While eyes closed :)

^^ some airlines provide, some wala. they would instead give you infant emergency pack which includes life vest. PAL domestic for example.

I had my daughter traveled SG-MNL after a week MNL-BCD-MNL and then MNL-SG. She was  almost 3 months lang. No hassle. Very good lang ang baby namin. credit to breastfeeding + pacifier + PRAYERS + mabait na baby :)

ask ko lang po sa mga nakatravel na ng singapore airlines from MLA to SG.
plan ko kasi ikuha ng seat ang 18months old baby ko pag balik namin ng SG.. ayaw ko sya ideclare as infant kasi medyo big boy sya. as in nornal adult seat ba ang inuupuan pag delacred as children na? need ko pa ba magdala ng toddler seatbelt or provided na nila yun?

Priceless

^Yes, normal adult seats. Not sure how you plan to do this - you probably need to phone up SQ to ask what their definition of a child vs. infant. I know for infants you only get to pay about 10% of the normal ticket; and only up to a certain weight (of the baby) will they provide a bassinet. Now for children I think you will still be provided a discount but I think sure seats sila. My suggestion is to always provide accurate information kasi baka questionin ka sa airport kung bakit hindi tugma ang information sa ticket/booking vs. passport ni baby.

Seatbelts are provided for infants that are carried on the lap of the parent/adult. You can also bring a forward facing car seat with you too. Booster seats are not allowed if I remember correctly.

Good luck!

Hello mga sis, first time sasakay ng plane ang bunso ko sa Nov 2014, he'll be 3 years old then.

Hindi naman ako nag aalala during the flight, ang concern ko is more on sa kung nandun na kami sa Korea, 3 nights and 4 days kasi kami doon, ang fear ko, paano kung mag tae, or mag suka, or need ng antibiotic...

is it okay to ask his pedia about medications I could give in case kailanganin kung nasa Korea na kami?

^ 3 years old din daughter ko when we went to seoul. it was winter pa, snowing everyday.

first, you just have to be very careful and make sure that you don't miss anything that would cause pag tatae, sipon, ubo o lagnat. sabi nga prevention is better than cure. unless may known sakit ang bata siguro but if he is well and healthy, he should be fine

2nd, 4 days is fast. pag nagkasakit it will be obvious when you're back home.

3rd, your option to ask the pedia for meds is alright but we don't really know kung ang gamot ba na dala mo ay angkop sa sakit na pwedeng dumapo sa baby? i brought actually, for colds and then vitamins. multi and vit C.

4th, ako kasi i dont think of such. i pray that wala sakit na dumapo sa bata at sa amin while abroad, stand firm on it.

5th, tadtarin ang katawan ng vitamins para protektado. mag suot ng proper clothing according sa temp dun, presko at komportable. bring a stroller if you can pra di masyadong mapagod ang bata.

else, you should be alright! dont worry too much. enjoy your trip!

^thank you so much sis PinkPotato for all the tips, noted :)

thank you sis :)

I travelled with my 11 month old from LA to manila with a 2 hr stop over in korea and it was terrible!! hindi makatulog ng maayos si baby from LA to korea (i think 13 hrs flight), so sobrang irritable sya. pag nakaka idilip naman, pag may turbulence kelangan sya alisin sa bassinet kaya nagigising at umiiyak. from korea to manila naman, umiiyak sya nung first hour ng flight tapos nung nakatulog na sya sa sobrangnpagod at antok the whole flight hanggang sa pagkuha na naman ng luggage sa airport.

I find this thread very helpful. I am travelling on nov 2014 with my daughter is who is 7 month old by then.. It'll be a long trip, Ottawa-Toronto, Toronto-Hongkong, Hongkong-Manila..

Kasi sanay kumain ng cereal or mashed fruits baby ko (she's 5 months). Or pwede bang magdala ng baby solid foods sakaling wala?

just fly back Manila-Toronto via PAL with my 1 year old...

You can bring liquid naman basta not more than 100ml then properly sealed in a transparent re-sealable plastic bag.

Sis Leigh Anne,  I travelled with our then 12-mo old baby Manila-San Francisco last December. I remembered bringing water in a 500ml thermos cause my baby drinks only warm milk. I bought fresh banana and baby food in pouches (plum organics) since it's very convenient and easier for us both-- he just sipped through the opening hehe. With all this inside my carry-on, wala naman Hinarang considering we had to pass through narita airport security during our layover. No problem in all 3 airports both ways :)

I'll be travelling to Singapore with my 18 month old baby this Feb via Cebu Pacific. I'll also be with my 2 other kids na gusto lagi window seat.  Going there, I was able to get the 1st row. Going back to Manila, taken na lahat ng bulkhead seats ng a330. Okay lang kaya kami sa regular seats? Hindi kaya masikip kasi sa lap siya?

First flight ni baby (4 months) last month, domestic lang a little over 1hour lang. Nung papunta he was fine not super behave unlike pag nasa car pero di sya umiyak although di din sya nakatulog. Pero pabalik to Manila halfway ng flight ayon na umiyak ng umiyak as in di mapatahan, i think dahil sa pressure nagkaron pa kasi ng air traffic so lalo nagtagal pag-landing ng plane. Nakakaawa kasi sobrang napagod sa pag-iyak, i'm breastfeeding him pero lahat ayaw na nya.

Any tips mga sis how to handle better ang air pressure sa baby aside sa dapat i-bf? We have plans of going to SG kasi he will be 7months by that time, medyo kabado ako this time kasi mas matagal ang flight. My baby is not really fussy pero he doesn't sleep well when we are outside, madali din sya ma-distract and sobrang mainipin. Iniisip ko na ano pwede gawin sa 4hrs flight na yun unless makatulog sya which is also a challenge kasi he doesn't sleep on his own pa kelangan ihele pa ng bongga.

^are you going to get a bassinet seat? Cuz if you are, they have extra legroom where you can put your son down sa floor. Maglatag ka lang ng blanket and pwde mo sya ibaba dun so he can play.

on our daughter's first flight, she was only 5 months old and she needed hele too. Worse, kasi she had eczema and therefore very itchy and fussy. So hele kung hele. We had a bassinet seat so nakatayo lang ako and hele hele sya :)

air pressure - the only way to relieve that talaga is if they swallow. So if not breastfeeding, give him something to nibble on.
