mamita_2012, I used to have Medela quick clean microwave bags and portable sterilizer (2 Avent bottles can fit). Playtex disposable liners are helpful too!

In 4 days we'll travel with our 4.5yr-old son. No yaya kami. He drinks fresh milk and milo from the tetra pack so we're good on that. Nag iisip na lang ako ng mga things to make him busy. I bought writing activities kasi mahilig siya mag drawing. I'll download some movies too.

^sa lap lang sis. Free of charge pa sila kaya walang allotted seat for them. Hindi ko pa natry na bumili ng seat for my son when he was an infant. Nakakalong lang siya all the time.

^ if you are taking a long haul flight, most airlines offer bassinet for infant. As far as I can remember up to 8-10kg weight limit normally ng mga bassinets. you don't have to be in business class to have this, it's just that not all airplanes/airlines offer this service for babies flying with you.

check with your airlines and request this earlier pra maayos before your flight.

Medyo worried ako sa first flight ni baby... 6 months old palang sya sa Feb and we need to go home to the Phils (australia to singapore then singapore to manila)

I rang the airline and they said if we book our flights na agad and wala palang bassinet seat available on that flight eh sa lap papaupuin si baby.... ummm ok lang sila?? Ang tagal kaya ng travel time. Ano yun walang tulugan?

So sabi ko that's not ok and what if we confirm first if may bassinet seats yun flight we're eyeing before we book. And ok naman din daw yun.

So I will take note of the flight details muna tapos tatawagan ko sila so they can check if may bassinet available. Kung meron, book na namin. If wala, check yun next flight.

Also, we are bringing our pram with us and worry ko baka balibag balibagin! Baka mamaya may gasgas at dents na pagcheckout namin. So hubby and I decided to buy a transport bag para nasa loob yun pram before check in. Good thing naman kasi may transport bag ang bugaboo so easy. A bit pricey but ok lang kesa mabwiset ako sa itsura ng pram namin pagkuha namin!

^ what airlines are you taking? SQ has almost all planes installed with bassinets 'daw'.

you can just bring along your pram til sa plane's door and attendants will keep that for you then give pag land nyo. pwede pa kayo ikot ikot muna around while baby is just comfy on the pram. di sya ganun ka hassle sis. you don't have to check in the pram. kasi kahit nasa bag sya pagkuha minsan na lalagyan ng kung ano anong dumi naman.

Major airlines have limited bassinets installed in specific bulkhead seats of each cabin (be it first, business or economy class). Babies are placed on the adult's lap while travelling, unless you want to purchase an extra seat and bring along a child restraint system approved for use in airplanes for your baby to sit in.

It is not a good idea either to book a seat with bassinet too early as in a few months time, your baby's length and weight can dramatically change.

True about pram/stroller usage. You can use your pram till boarding and have the gate agent collect it for you before entering the aircraft, if you prefer. Some airlines wrap the strollers in plastic to protect it from the elements. Different ang loading nito into the aircraft unlike our usual check in baggage.

I bought the maclaren bag with wheels for my baby's techno xlr. We are traveling to HK next week, do they allow the stroller to be checked in gate side (upon boarding) inside the bag?

^ if CX, helpful sila especially if you are a marco polo member or kahit hindi ka member, very attentive sila with passengers na may babies or kids. Unfortunately, we a have a very bad experience with PAL. Kaya since then, everytime we travel with babies or toddlers, CX na kami lahat. as in buong clan. kahit na promo pa ibang airlines. Di kasi worth it ang pal and cebupac.

pinkpotato, yes we're flying with Singapore Airlines and yes I know almost all of their planes if not all have bassinets. My concern is what if all the bassinet seats on our flight are booked. So we were advised to check with them first and give them the flight details we're eyeing so they can confirm if there are still free bassinet seats

kinakatakot ko baka mabalibag balibag yun pram even if we check in the pram or not. I've seen several families na tumatabi sa gilid right before entering the plane para ifold yun pram nila and ibigay sa staff.

anyway, we've decided to just buy the travel bag para well protected sya... icheck-in na lang namin yun pram siguro

^Just came back from a long haul (direct) flight with SQ. All I can say is that they're great with infants and families. We booked the bassinet seats in advance so please take note of this - although I am pretty sure you know this already (an infant ticket costs 10% of a regular adult ticket price, PLUS you NEED to call them in advance to book the bassinet seats). 

Baby (4 months) was very good during the flight, slept most of the time and kept to his usual routine (feeding every 4 hours). Ang nakakainis lang kasi they require you to take the baby out of the bassinet every time the seatbelt sign is turned on, so kahit na baby is sleeping soundly, nagigising kasi you have to take him/her out. If you're in biz class, mas maganda kasi you can opt to fully recline the seat at dun nalang patulugin si baby the whole time imbes na palipat lipat pa from the bassinet. If you're traveling with Hubby (or anyone else for that matter), you can ask the FA if they can serve your meal first tapos si hubby naman later para habang kumakain yung isa, may nakabantay kay baby (lalo na kapag hindi tulog si baby).

Reminder lang, 30 minutes before descent, have your milk/drink ready for baby to help ease the pressure sa ears. Ang mali ko nung unang flight, akala ko pacifier lang will do the trick. Hindi pala. The baby needs to swallow, hindi lang yung sucking motions with a pacifier. Nung next flight namin, hinanda ko na yung expressed milk and had him drink from the bottle nung nakakaramdam na ako ng pressure sa ears ko - which was at about 20 thousand feet. Pero dinahan-dahan ko lang yung pag bigay sa kanya ng milk para umabot until we were about to land.

First flight ni bunso kainis wala man lang bassinet ang Turskish airlines, so from doha to istanbul to amsterdam nasa lap ko lang talaga si baby ang sikip pa bago ako makalabas kailangan ko muna kumandong kay hubby Unlike nung sa panganay ko dati sa Emirates may bassinet sarap tulog ng son ko nakatuwad pa

Kagandahan lang sa flight namin ngayon, breastfeeding si baby kaya no hassle sa paghuhugas ng bottle at pagtitimpla

which is a safer way to check in a pram?
- sa check in counter sabay ng pag check in ng gamit namin?
- or just before going through the plane door? I see some na dun nagfofold ng pram tapos bibigay lang sa staff to check it in

also, mas madali ba irelease yung pram kapag chineck in sa check in counter or dun sa boarding gate? I hate waiting for luggages kasi!

Primary concern ko of course is yung safe handling nya. Ayaw ko naman mabali bali or magasgasan yung pram nya... do I ask Singapore Airlines to wrap it in bubble wrap or something? This is if I decide not to buy a travel bag for the pram... bibili lang naman ako ng travel bag if I hear negative feedback sa paghandle nila ng prams.

^I think SingAir will handle your pram the same way over the check-in counter and at the boarding gate. But for convenience, I suggest you to bring your pram until the boarding gate. But if you're more concerned about its safe handling, it is better to hand it over the checkin counter wrapped properly or in a travel bag. I do not think that SingAir will wrap the pram for you.

With regards to the release of your pram, I think last in first out ang mga gamit.

first dometic flight mla-dgte at 1 month and 10 days. ok naman, babywearing with Saya. baby was asleep the entire flight. samething nun pabalik na kami he's 2 months and 5 days.

Sis Oreo08 we travelled before via Singair (Aus to Sing then Sing to Mnl), mas convenient na sa may boarding gate yung pram kase mas comfortable si baby.  Nung nakuha namin yung pram namin maayos naman siya.  Mukhang hindi naman nila binabalibag ang mga pram.  Yun din kase ang concern namin dati nung magtratravel kami but we opted not to buy a travelling bag for the pram mukhang ayos pa din naman.  By the way sa big plastic lang nila ilalagay ang pram.

Paano ka pala magtratravel may kasama ka ba? Dati kase nung mga 6 months lang din si baby ko hindi ko nagamit ang bassinet ng plane kase ang babaw matulog ni baby pag ilalapag ko sa bassinet nagigising..besides sa location ng bassinet maririnig mo ang mga pag flush sa comfort room so mas pinili ko na lang siyang ihold kaysa lagi siyang magigising sa ingay pag meron nagfflush ng toilet.  Medyo nakakangawit pero convenient na din siya kase pag nagigising siya pwede ko na siyang ifeed agad so yun mas less hassle and nagsleep lang siya buong flight
