Food: Fish lalo na salmon ( Omega 3), eggs, tea (any kind) and dark chocolate.
Vitamins: Anything that is good for the nerves like B12 or B 1-6-12. folate, choline and DHA. Fish Oils.
Drug: Piracetam. Prescription only. I won't mess with this unless sinabi ni Doc at talagang kailangan.
Herbs:
Gingkgo Biloba - pinaka common na brain supplement, most well researched pero pinaka overhyped. Some people say na it does not really do anything. Side effects: It is also a blood thinner and may cause bleeding. Should not be taken with aspirin, vitamin E. Cost: Around 1,800 pesos for 100 cap sa GNC pero merong mas mura dyan. Look for the standardized formula.
Bacopa Muniera - Memo Plus Gold list this as its main ingredient. Side Effects: Wala. Downside: It takes 3 months to see noticeable effects. If you are planning to take it for next week's exams, walang effect. Cost: around P 420+ for one box of 30 caps. 1 cap 2x daily then maintenance dose na once a day.
Gotu Kola- locally known as takip kuhol. Yung tumutubo sa mga palaisdaan at palayan. My Aunt swears by this (she uses it mainly for her cellulite and varicose veins but the brain factor is the bonus. shhh, don't tell)and merong tumutubo sa tabi ng pond nila. Hinahalo lang nya like salad, neutral naman yung taste. Yung nasa caps more or less P 300 for 120 caps of 100 mg. Not sure about the dosage.
Vinpocetine - usually naka stack na sya sa mga brain supplements. But some forum members of another site are not fans (safety issues). http://www.longecity.org/forum/topic/23457-vinpocetine-ditch-it/
Basta supplement mas maganda kung 2 or 3 yung herbs/minerals sa stack. One herb or vitamin rarely work as a stand alone. Anything that improves sleep quality and makes you calm helps also.
