Cliche man pero naniniwala ako na if you're unhappy alone, you can never be happy with someone.

Nung may bf ako buong college, i was contented with my status. Di ako nagentertain ng ibang manliligaw, lahat ng labas ko with friends filtered ni bf, even decisions ko sa school and when i started working, nakadepende sa kanya.

Maraming pang iba. Kaya nung naghiwalay kame, sobrang nagenjoy talaga ako. Ang dami kong nagagawa for myself. Ang posts ko nun sa fb mostly is yung mga concerts na pinapanuod ko (na madalas ako lang mag-isa), mga travel, food trip alone or with friends. Para akong nakawala sa kulungan. Freedom talaga. At i swear naenjoy ko yun. Nakipagdate ako with people, whether potential partner or not. I YOLO-ed, kumbaga. Those were definitely the best years of my life.

Until narealize ko that i'm ready to share my life again with someone.

Tapos nameet ko yung current partner ko. Sabi nya sa akin, he was attracted to me kase i seem so interesting (kase nagtatravel ako magisa, at medyo 'kakaiba' daw trip ko, etc). And i believe na mas healthy ang relationship namin kase established yung personality ko. Yunf lifestyle ko is same pa din when i was single, except that now may partner ako. Kumbaga i don't desperately need him to be with me, pero when he's with me, i appreciate. Ganun.

So what im saying is if you're single, you have to be genuinely happy. Doon mo mas makikilala ang sarili mo eh. Sure meron ding defense mechanism lang yung kunwari masaya, pero more than anything dapat talaga "mahahanap" mo ang sarili mo on your own, without validation from anyone.

Advantages ng single, daming pera. Haha. I can spoil myself. Pag may jowa, yung gastos you have to plan it for two na kaagad. Siguro yung cuddles and sexy time, pwede din advantage. Pero ako kase id rather go out and see the world kesa magstay sa room to cuddle haha.

This is seriously inspirational! May I ask how old you are?  Though I am quite happy with my relationship right now - ang sarap basahin nito.

^i am turning 26 next month. I was in a relationship with my ex for 7 years (16 til 23 y/o) and i met current partner 2 yrs after.

My friends tell me how much i have bloomed nung naging single ako. Hehe

Thank you^ :) kahit ako i always look back on that eh. Hindi ko na din alam kung pano nagsimula na naging masaya ako after we broke up (syempre sad din for a while pero parang nagising na lang ako na, okay time to move on ha hahaha)

first time kong maging single after a loong years.. i can say na malunkot kasi bago pa langp ero mabilis ako makarecover kasi i focused on being better and i have more money now than ever kaya i can do whatever i want na, at nakakafocus nako sa work ko and sa family ko w/c is a very good thing for me. Getting rid of toxic people in your life helped me a lot. Its better to be single for a while kesa makalimutan mo unahin yung sarili mo.

may time na  i love being single less drama tapos nagagawa ko yun gusto ko.at pag nakakarinig ako ng failed relationship ng friend ko para ako na trautrauma pumasok sa relationship.kaya mas naiisip ko ok na rin maging single.pero pag may family gathering na natatanung ako na bakit wala pa ako.or may mga instances na iisipin mo sana may bf ako sa ganitong panahon.pero so far ngayon ok naman ako single.

Yes :)  It's not bad being single.  In fact, it can be awesome.  Definitely beats being in relationship or dating people just for the sake of not being single.  It would be great to be in a relationship with a nice guy, that's true, but until that time comes, there's no reason to be unhappy and bored.  There's a whole world out there waiting to be explored :D

^I agree with winkypops, less stressful siya and you have more time to do what you want.  You have more control of your time and resources.  Walang aaway sayo if you want to go shopping the whole day or spend time with friends.

^true! And ^^true!

And if you're happy being single, kahit pa may 'stress' na dala yung kapartner mo, keber. And of course, being happy means knowing who makes you unhappy and getting rid of them :p

I agree kitypaw parang if he’s wealthy you don’t love him because of what he has but you love him genuinely. We single girl builds foundation for our future so that whatever happens we are ready for physical, emotional and financial too we don’t need them but some guys they get jealous or insecure if a girl has her own life parang gusto nung iba ha na sakanila iikot mundo no way! I always advice my friends lalo na mga taken na Always get a life  meaning with or without him you have a life you don’t always need him. I guess walang masama dun. You can still express your love for him.  Hindi din naman siguro dominating ito.

Pero one day God will lead his way to found me…Awesome! Amazing! Wonderful life ahead 

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I have been single for 3 years now. And all of my relationships were short-lived. I’ve never been in a long term relationship din kasi, so nasanay ako na I am always on my own. I just turned 30 last May and the past few months I was in a phase wherein I was able to say to myself that I am perfectly content being single, at least for the time being. I am enjoying my freedom, without having to think about another person or even having to consider another person in any decisions, and wala akong kailangan i-please or i-impress. I can do whatever I want. Plus my group of friends naman, even if most of them are married, they never made me feel that being single sucks. My family naman is very supportive too.
Of course like others, hindi naman mawawala na may times na you long to have that special someone. Pag ganun, I pray, or talk to my best friends, work out, kahit anong activities to keep me busy. Kahit na ganun, I know to myself na desire ko pa din siyempre to get married to the right man and to have a family of my own. Pero I am slowly learning din naman not to dwell on it kasi nakakabaliw lang eh haha.
But in all of this, I guess the point is, whatever your status maybe, be it single, in a relationship, engaged, married – we just need to learn to enjoy and savor every moment. Not because you’re single does not mean your life sucks, and not because you’re in a relationship or you’re married, your life is like a fairy tale na. Kanya kanyang issues lang din talaga. You just need to learn how to be content and happy.

Not really. I have always been NBSB ever since.

But the good side of being single is that, more freedom, more exploration churva. The downside is that, you might be labelled as "old maid" by your peers and family. LMAO.

yes, i am free, but at the end of the day, mamimiss mo din yung me magtetext sayo o tatawag asking how your day went and the dates na pampatanggal ng stress just seeing that special person in your life. nakakamiss maging in a relationship. so, i am no longer loving this single life for 6 yrs already! :'(

YES, I AM HAPPY BEING SINGLE.  :)

It may sound like a cliche' but it's just recently when I realized that I can be this happy even if I dont have a boyfriend or boylet. I've always thought that I'd be miserable if I'm alone. I learned a lot of things about myself. Starting off with something simple, like kaya ko naman pala mag grocery mag isa kahit wala akong dala na auto, kaya ko naman pala pumila sa ayala station para sa taxi ng mag isa. Ganon ka simple. I never thought I can do that, kasi nasanay ako na may taga bitbit or susundo hahaha not that yun lang silbi ni ex ha. He's more than that for sure. Pero yun nga, being single can be lonely at times thats for sure pero this is also the time for girls to know what they really want, discover new things. When I'm out with couple friends, okay lang. nag eenjoy ako minsan nga di lang ako third wheel eh, na experience ko na 4 sila na couple tapos ako single, but I never felt left out kasi siguro we're mature enough para hindi ma-feel yun when I was younger ayoko ng ganon pero ngayon okay lang.

It's definitely true that you can't be happy with someone if you cant be happy alone. So to all of us single ladies, let's embrace this moment. I'm sure we'll miss this when we get to a new relationship.  :)

I used to but not anymore. There are times, no, most of the time I long for having someone with me.

I am still young, I just turned 20 last March. So there's more time to enjoy being single. It's just that I can't do it this time pa 'coz I am still studying and I don't have money to spend. Maybe after I graduated hopefully by next year and got a work and money on my own, I will do everything to enjoy singlehood.

As per being single, it's fun din naman to travel, eat, watch movie alone wag ka lang makakita ng magjowang sweet or else mabwisit ka lang. Hahaha!

One thing that triggers my unhappy feeling of being single is when my friends would tease me "Magboyfriend ka na kasi." "Ano, wala pa rin?" Ang sarap lang nilang sabunutan. Lol.

Plus my 2 BFF (we're 4 in barkada) have babies na. They got pregnant 18 and 19 y/o. And I was like, "They have babies na and I still don't have a boyfriend." Not that I want to engage myself to teenage/early pregnancy.

Guess I should enjoy and love being single muna. And ready myself to enter a relationship and commitment.
