Siquijor-Dumaguete (Thread 2)

^Sis, IMO, mas maraming makikita sa Siquijor kesa sa DGT city. So spend more time there. Lorna's End of the World is a popular choice among backpackers.

Day 1 - arrival in DGT, diretso sa Siquijor. Catch the 9am/10am ferry. Paiba-iba ang schedule. Check Coco Grove's interactive ferry schedule website here. I recommend Kuya Irvin Bation para sa tricycle tour (0915 890 3286).

Had a suuuper lay-back anniversary sa Siquijor. Super na-enjoy namin ang stay namin sa Coco Grove. Naging advantange rin na walang signal sa area, 2 days disconnected sa online world. lol. Tuwang-tuwa ako sa staff sa Coco Grove, mga talented! Kundi resto crew/Singer, tour guide/fire dancers naman! At ang "outfit" nila ate, pang-bridesmaid ang peg! Highly recommended ko pala si Ms Fe sa spa, sarap ng foot massage!!

sis marie05 - Tama si sis beach_n_sunsets, mas maraming mapuntahan sa Siquijor kesa sa DGT City. 3 hours lang kami sa DGT, ang napuntahan namin mga malapit sa DGT Port , Silliman at Rizal Blvd then lunch sa Jo's Inato, magkakalapit lang ito. Lakad lang. Napuntahan namin before ang 12:50PM ferry to Siquijor.

hi sis marie05, you can go to silliman campus on sunday but the museum and library would be closed. if you have a whole day in dumaguete then you can choose between apo island or lake balinsasayao. if you go apo island then that will probably take a whole day. if you go to lake balinsasayao, 4 hours would be more than enough to enjoy the place. then you can go on a food trip around the city for the rest of the day.

for cheap hotels, you can check out gabby's bed and breakfast or harold's mansion. these are backpacker places so don't expect too much in terms of amenities but gabby's is really quirky.

we will maximize lang muna sa byahe namin kasi first time ng kasama namin sa visayas. kaya di kami magstay ng matagal sa siquijor.

i saw the vlogs of christian leblanc on youtube, hindi ko alam na may hidden gem pala ang dumaguete and siquijor! now i want to go, isa to sa mga ipprioritize kong puntahan this year

We were in dumaguete-siquijor last week. Tip ko lang sa mga sis, if you plan to go snorkeling in apo island, harold's is a great deal na. When we inquired for their snorkeling tour package upon checkin last feb 14, we were advised there are no more slots. Of course, we were very disappointed because that should have been our trip's highlight.

We searched for other options online but since it is weekend, we did not get an immediate reply. Desperate na kami nun. We went to their dive center, not the receptionist anymore, and were advised they hired additional boats and can accommodate us! Tuwang-tuwa kami!

I read here na may times na maalon so we asked if pwede kami sa harold's boat, hindi dun sa hinire nila. Pumayag naman! Sinabi rin namin na we don't know how to swim. They gave us a dedicated guide! Yung harold's boat lahat sila divers except sa kin and sa friend ko. Pero sobra naming na-enjoy gawa may dedicated guide kami. May dala pa siyang life ring for us, aside from life vest na suot namin. Siya daw bahala sa min, di raw niya kami papabayaan, which turned out to be so true. Yung kay harold's kasama na lahat - food, gear, guide, boat ride, in just 1000!

Super na enjoy namin snorkeling. Dami namin nakaswim na pawikan! 😎

Highly recommended especially if 2-3 pax lang kayo. Dami pang eye candy

Hi sis. Sa mga gusto pumunta ng siquijor, friendly reminder magbonamin muna kayo before sumakay ng barko. We went there last week and maalon talaga ang dagat. Kahit naka-dock na yung boat maalon pa din. Hindi naman ako mahiluhin na tao pero nahilo din ako and maraming nagsusuka. Buti na lang may baon akong bonamine.

But Siquijor is LOVE! tahimik, walang traffic, ang ganda ng mga lugar. Breathtaking.

Our trip would be next month. We will stay in Siquijor for 3 days, 2 nights and overnight in Dumaguete so we can see the city and go on food trips. Booked na kami sa The Bruce Siquijor (1,800 per night for a beachfront cottage good for 4 pax) and Grand Pension Plaza Hotel (1,164 overnight in their family room). I booked through Agoda for Grand Pension. I was supposed to pick Harold's Mansion but I saw the note na may construction being done til September. I'm just looking for a tour guide and we're all set. Pretty excited to see the island of fire with my family.

The fee for the multicab tour is 1,800 regardless of the number of pax right? I've texted 2 drivers na, one of them is Kuya Joam and after malaman na 4 lang kami, they don't text anymore. Yung first driver May 18 ko pa nacontact. Hindi na nagtext. Si Kuya Joam this afternoon. Hindi kasi kami comfortable if sa tricycle kami. Medyo malalaki husband and dad ko. I don't know if dun na lang ako maghahanap ng driver pagdating kasi parang walang gusto mag-accommodate sa amin.

^^yan din prob ko kay joam, ang tagal magreply tapos pag may question ka ulet dedma na. porke ba sikat sya? kaya naghanap na lang ako ng iba same rate lang naman kay kuya tata. kung 4 kayo sis dapat nga multicab para comfy kasi malayo yong mga tourist spot. try kitang hanapan. trike lang kasi yong kay kuya tata

^Thanks, sis! Ayoko naman kulitin sa text pag di nagreply. Nahihiya ako. Baka sabihin makulit ako masyado. Kaya lang if ayaw, sana magsabi na hindi siya puwede di ba instead na deadma na lang. Search din ako sa blogs.Dapat kasi 6 kami sa trip pero mom ko pupunta sa US while brother ko naman busy with his internship. Naisip namin ituloy kasi sayang tickets. Halos 9k din yun sa CebuPac. Ang epic fail pa yung baggage allowance nilagay ng mom ko sa name nila ng brothers ko so now we have to avail. Extra fees again. 

Update: sis, we were able to get hold of Kuya Charles (09106454175). akala ko di magrereply sa text then he called me through another number! naappreciate ko yung effort ha kasi naubusan daw siya ng load sa isang number. may tour guide na kami. yehey! thanks!

Yung friend ko pumunta sa Siquijor last weekend. Ang haba daw ng pila sa port. Pahirapan kumuha ng tickets. Buti may nag-offer sa kanila though may dagdag sa price so they were able to take the ferry. Sabi ko nga ano yun parang scalpers lang.

we're going to dumaguete next week and we want to go to siquijor. any tips when it comes to getting a ferry and going around for 2 pax? may difference ba yung ferry to "larena" and "siquijor"?

^We went to Siquijor on a Wednesday, sis. Konti lang tao sa RORO. We got to Dumaguete port before 10am and were able to get tickets for Montenegro easily. Tama lang dating namin kasi around 40 minutes after that, the ferry departed the port. After lunch kami dumating sa Siquijor and Kuya Charles was already there waiting. Sinabi lang namin sa kanya kung anong sinakyan namin na ferry. Nagpahatid kami sa kanya sa The Bruce. You can inquire about getting a tricycle tour. Multicab yung sa amin kasi 4 kami and medyo malalaki so hindi puwede tricycle dahil masisikipan lang.

We left Siquijor on Friday morning and madaming passengers sa RORO. We got to the port from The Bruce 20-30 minutes before departure. Pumila na agad kami. Buti pinagbilhan pa kami ng tickets. Halos puno yung RORO that time. Weekend yata dagsa ang mga tourists so kung weekend kayo pupunta or aalis, inquire early about buying tickets para walang hassle if possible.

Also, may ATM sa airport. BPI yata yun but we didn't withdraw money there kasi may prob yung isang foreigner sa card niya. We asked the tricycle driver kung saan puwede magwithdraw before going to the port and tumigil kami sa isang hospital na may ATMs. Di kasi sure if may way to get money pag nasa Siquijor na.
