Siquijor-Dumaguete (Thread 2)

kami last year kahit kinabukasan ang alis namin di kami binentahan ng ticket papuntang siquijor sa dumaguete pero sa siquijor nakabili kami ng ticket pabalik ng dumagete one day before the trip. ewan ko ba kung ano ang policy nila. ang tagal pa naman naming nag-intay sa port para magbukas ang ticketing nila pero nganga kami dahil di kami binentahan ng ticket. agahan na lang daw namin ang pagbili sa mismong araw ng alis.

possible din kasi na kaya ganoon kasi may bagyong paparating noon.

ang ganda ng Siquijor!  galing kami last week, sa Lorna's End of the world din kami nagstay.. simple at mura, buhay probinsya.

^we stayed at Lorna's End of the World also. Hehe. What a cool name. Bait nina ate Lorna. kaso nagbabaha sa cr nila. :p

onga sis! haha, nung pagdating namin, inaaayos ni ate charmi yun cr, puro sealant yung kamaya nya. lol. mababait sila lahat

sobrang nag enjoy si hubby sa libreng fish spa sa Old Enchanted Balete Tree. Kakatakot nung una yung malalaking mga isda, pero it turned out, mas gentle sila mag nibble kesa sa maliliit! lol

Don't forget to try the 'swing' sa Cambugahay Falls

^sis I love all the places you mentioned! Hihi! We went sa balete tree mga mag 6pm so ayaw na namin bumababa kasi nga nagdidilim na pero our driver/guide is so mapilit. E ayaw namin makaoffend ng anyone sa siquijor for obvious reasons. Hehe so try din kami. It really is so enchanting. Best moment ko din yung maglambitin sa rope sa may falls. Hehe. I think in all honesty ang babait ng tao sa siquijor and its not fair na katakutan sila. Will definitely go back if there's still a chance.

true! ang babait ng mga taga don, hesitant lang talaga magpunta yung ibang tao dahil sa mga rumors dati. highlight ng central visayas trip namin etong Siquijor tsaka yung Oslob. Paalis pa nga lang kami ng Siquijor, sabi ko na kay hubby, balik kami next time tapos tipong 3days don lang kami! haha! kasi 1day lang kami last time.

Kami din sis 1day lang and with barkada. Ang nice nya pang honeymoon kasi tahimik. (Making a mental note hehe). And I read somewhere ang daming interesting hotels na meron or magkakaron. So good point to stay longer nga.

We were able to book tickets to Dumaguete for June 2016. Thanks to Cebu Pac's promo, makikita ko na ang Siquijor. We won't book a hotel in Dumaguete na. Plan namin pagdating dun, diretso na sa pagkuha ng tickets sa ferry. I'm looking at Coral Cay's website. Top choice ko siya kasi may pool. Budget travel lang so scratched off ang Coco Grove. Nacurious din ako sa Princesa Bulakna resort. Has anyone stayed there? I read na may multicab daw for tours. Meron bang aircon van? Isang buong family kami. TIA.

Parang bet ko yung Kagusuan Beach,pero sabi ng guide, medyo delikado daw don at maraming incidence ng nakawan at holdap. Gaano ito katotoo?

^Sis, when we went there 2 lang 'yung tao aside from us! So I find it hard to believe na maraming kaso ng nakawan at holdap doon. Actually, I find it hard to believe na may nakawan at holdap sa Siquijor in general. Siquijor is one of the most peaceful places I've been to.

It's out of the way, though. Parang papaloob kasi siya, wala siya doon sa national highway unlike 'yung karamihan ng sites sa Siquijor. Baka ayaw lang puntahan ng guide mo dahil nga medyo malayo or mabibitin kayo sa oras ganyan?

Palm court 1 kami sis last Dec 6.. paglabas mo, pool na.. Ok naman, parang wala naman akong major concern about sa room..

Ang ganda sa Coco Grove. Di namin inexpect na ganun sya kalaki. Ayaw na nga magtour ng kasama ko, gusto nya magstay na lang sa resort. Napaka private ng lugar, parang solo namin yung lugar. Mostly foreigners din ang nakabook. The best din ang sunset, sobrang ganda. Nag dinner by the beach pa kami nung gabi kasi may event. Kaso nung time namin sira ang wifi nila, buti may dala akong wifi stick. Though sa reception lang may signal, sa room namin (palm court 1) wala kahit cellphone (globe kami).

Si Kuya Tata ang tour namin. Ok lang, tahimik lang siya. Maiksi lang tour namin para mahabol yung sunset. We did not regret. Ang romantic.

Hello! Sa mga naka Dumaguete-Siquijor trip na, what itinerary can you suggest? We have time naman kasi 5 days. Morning arrival in Dumaguete and afternoon departure on the 5th day to Manila.

Inisip ko kasi mag 2.5 days in Siquijor then 2.5 in Dumaguete.

Siquijor
1st day - relax sa beach
2nd day - tour
3rd day - back to Dumaguete or Manila (if last na namin gagawin Siquijor)

But sa Dumaguete, wala pa akong idea aside from Silvanas What can you suggest? I also want to snorkel in Apo Island. Ok ba day trip instead of staying overnight there? Ano pa ibang pwedeng gawin sa Dumaguete?

hi iamjoei, if you have 2.5 days in Dumaguete then i would suggest you do the following:

.5 day - check out silliman campus, stroll along boulevard. if this is the day you're leaving dumaguete, then take the time to go to sans rival bistro for desserts and to buy pasalubong.

1 day - go snorkeling at apo island. you don't need to stay there overnight. check out the harold's mansion website for fees - i believe their cheapest snorkeling package is 1k and it includes park fees, equipment, transpo, boat transfers, instructor, lunch, water, fruit, tea, and coffee. here's a link - http://haroldsmansion.com/down/HDC_DIVE_RATES_2015.pdf

snorkeling may be about 8 hours then you can check out gabby's bistro or mooon cafe or hayahay for dinner

1 day - i would suggest going to lake balinsasayao more than casaroro falls because lake balinsasayao is just so beautiful and serene. you can hike and go boat riding there and you'd only need to spend 4-6 hours, including transportation time. then you can have dinner at any of the places previously mentioned.

hope i helped! there are still so many other hidden treasures in negros but they take time to fully explore

Thanks 120515! Is it still ok to do the Apo Island tour from 10am (and not as early as 8am)? We will be arriving in Dumaguete around 8:30am so give or take we can settle in and leave the hotel by 9:30

hi sis, i think tours to apo island leave at 7 am daily so 10 am will be too late - you can check with your hotel if they can hook you up with someone who can do it at a later time

Anyone who has contacts to Siquijor tour guides? Meron sa hotel pero 3k per person and not included pa the fees and lunch. So baka that's too expensive?

Hi! Help naman po sa itinerary:

Day1:
8am arrival at DGT
Diretso na to Siquijor Day tour (Question: ano pa bang ibang fastcraft or boat to Siquijor? masyadong gahol sa oras pag oceanjet)

Day2:
Oslob-Sumilon

Day3:
Roam around Dumaguete (Wala akong idea kung san pa pupunta except sa Siliman at boulevard. Any idea kung san pa pwede pumunta na di naman ganun kalayo?)

Day4:
Dito ko pa lang plan pumunta sa Siliman. Open ba sila on Sundays? I mean yung museum, library, etc.
2pm Flight back to Manila

Any suggestion na cheap accommodation? Yung mga tipong 300 per person per day. Anyway 4 naman kami. 3 girls 1 boy.
