Hello mga sis, can you suggest a good hotel in hollywood area na accessible sa mga restaurants/tourist spots young tipong walking distance lang kung meron ganun

^Hi sis, hotels near Hollywood are super expensive. Nagbook na lang ako through airbnb. If you are fine with motels, then some can go for a few dollars above 100.

Mga sis, how about good restaurants to eat? We will be staying near Hollywood area but we will be driving to Anaheim for Disney and for the Angels game. If sipagin kami, baka magdrive din kami going to San Diego. Pero for the a big part of our stay, nasa LA lang kami. Can you guys suggest for good places to eat?Thank you!

^ andami. depends on the area, really. for food, my favorite areas are pasadena and downtown. people love koreatown din but i haven't really explored it. i posted some of my favorites on page 1 of this thread.

anaheim,  i'm not too familiar with pero downtown disney-- hindi masarap food.

skip pink's. hindi worth it ang 1-2 hrs na wait. better to just watch a dodgers game, get the hotdog and garlic fries. or wurstkuche in downtown, where they serve hotdogs made of exotic meat (crocodile, rattlesnake, etc.)

Sis Sarsingkit, if you like shrimps or seafoods, drop by at Boiling Crabs. Marami naman sila branches although mahaba lagi ang lines.

^Ooh! Super favorite din namin yan. Hindi kumpleto vacation namin kung hindi kami nakapag-Boiling Crab.  The Whole Shebang!, the best! Alala ko nung bago pa sila talagang hole in the wall resto sila but now andami na nilang branches. Matagal pa rin ang pila    Pero worth it. We go to their San Jose branch.

LOEWS HOTEL has a good location, it's just a walk away from the walk of fame, kodak theatre and Chinese Theater, it is across El Capitan so very accessible sa lahat because train stations is just few minutes walk as well as the bus station.
Visit the Farmers market, Pampa's brazilian BBQ is the best, the Grove is near the place too. there's cheesecake factory there, sprinkles cupcakes, dylan's candy and ice cream and more. across it is Trader's now which is worth a visit and the other side is whole foods. enjoy LA

you can also go to Glendale Americana, there's a lot of places to eat and shop, if you like buffet style,  there is Vegas buffet.  and in Old Pasadena,  i highly recommend Bachi Burger (kiki burger with truffle parmesan fries, that's my usual order) and next door bakery 85 degrees (their brioche is a fave).  also in Pasadena there's a branch of Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles.
if you feel like to have some Filipino food during your visit, the closest might be in the San Fernando Valley.  across from Kaiser Permanente in Panorama City there's there's a plaza of mostly pinoy establishments like Seafood City market, Jollibee, ChowKing, Red Ribbon, Goodah and Valerio's bakery.  a few blocks from here is In n Out burger.

Thank you mga sis for all the suggestion. We are looking forward to Jollibee talaga and other Filipino fastfood chains saka seafood so try namin yang Boiling Crab. Mahal kasi ang seafodd here in the Canadian prairies.

Seriously, may Goodah? haha. Natuwa naman ako. Reminds me of my childhood.

for bakery, i like Porto's  in Glendale for it's cheese roll. Masarap din yung ibang breads. Pero the
Cheese roll yung pampasalubong pabalik sa Pinas.

+1 for Porto's. And their cheese rolls. Addictive. Masarap din ham croquette nila and spinach feta croissant. For sandwiches, fave ko yung media noche.

For Pinoy food, merong Gerry's Grill sa Cerritos. There's also The Park's Finest BBQ in Downtown.

Mga sis! We will be in LA this june. Kaya ba ng 3 days vegas and 3 days LA? And can you suggest hotel sa LA? Wala kami idea ni hubby kung san maganda magstay eh. Thanks in advance

As for hotel, I recently stayed at Figueroa Hotel in Downtown LA. I've long admired the building but they painted over my favorite part of the facade. But I tried it anyway and I'm so glad I did. It's a very interesting hotel and the location is hard to beat, especially for the price. Gusto ko ulit mag-staycation and for a longer time hehe. I considered Airbnb din but tricky kasi minsan ang locations ng downtown. Figueroa Hotel sits in one of the more tourist-friendly, safer areas of downtown.

I will be here this weekend! Looks like madami nang Pinoy foodchains and stuff in LA.
I will be visiting some friends there. Ano magandang dalin from the Philippines? May Goldilocks na ba sa LA?

^ sa downtown parang wala, pero sa Cerritos meron. Anyhoo, iba ang timpla ng Goldi products sa US. Mas masarap pa rin yung galing sa Pinas so it's always nice to bring some.

^actually hindi na Goldilocks ang name ng store.  The ones closest to Downtown La will be in the San Fernando Valley which are now 'Leelin' stores, same daw, but due to divorce or something ng owners, kailangan change ng name.


if food stuff are mass produced and sold in the big supermarkets/stores  sa Pinas,  usually meron na din dito sa LA.  Look for the locations of the Filipno market 'Seafood City'.  Usually in the same plaza you'l  find other pinoy restaurants and bakeries.


anyway, i hope you enjoy your LA trip.  it's kinda hot right now, shorts/tanktop weather.

Will be in LA this month, mahirap ba ang transportation dito mga sis to roam around and visit the sites?

here in Cali, you need to drive to get to places.   buses are on schedule and only on main thoroughfares.  taking a cab/taxi is expensive.  so you need to either rent a car or get a limo service or know somebody to drive you around.  or maybe the hotel you will be staying at has shuttle service to the tourist sites and amusement parks. 
if you take public transport, you need to know the routes and it will take hours to get from point a to  point b.  driving state kasi .
