You can definitely make it work.

Pick the top places you want to go to then create a route. Check out the rates for airplane/train rides and hotel fees per night. If you compute the amount of money you'll need to spend on transportation & lodging, since these 2 are the major expenses, then you'll get an idea how much everything will cost. After that, you can add/remove cities to your itinerary accordingly.

Another tip pala, go check out booking.com and avail their free cancellation bookings. This way you can price locked good promos while not having to pay right away, giving you more flexibility.

hi sis. we initially planned to get group tours para less hassle pero we opted to go alone. we don't want to waste our time waiting for our group during our honeymoon right? hehe. onga pala sis. in terms sa hote and train tickets do you usually book ahead or when you arrive at the station/hotel? thanks

Travel to B from A:
Sometimes train tickets online are on sale if you book early. If city B is my next destination (where I have a hotel booked already) and I'm not going back to city A anymore, I'd want to have tickets already. I don't want to risk having no transportation to my next destination.

Daytrip travel between A and B:
For short train rides where the route is common (there's a train for n times per hour), I just buy tickets at the station. For example, we bought tickets for Florence-Pisa ride at the train station, it's a short ride and every half hour may train.

rm1015 Book in advance for good deals.    Agree with kiracharlie, I use booking.com (although now we book through hotels.com na dahil may deal sila na for every 10 room nights you get one free night, although you can't do that for same trip dahil dapat nagamit na ang room) and minsan I cancel hotels if later on I see a hotel na mas gusto ko.

DIY is a lot better, dalawa lang naman kayo and mas masarap na free kayo kung ano gusto nyo gawin. Madali lang naman mag-DIY basta may time to research.

Kami din.  DIY para hindi limited yung time and free kami to explore the place. We will have our postnup shoot din in Paris. Now my problem nalang is sino magaayos or baka ako nalang mag makeup sa sarili ko. Has anyone of you watched Moulin Rouge? Okay ba siya? sinama kasi namen sa itinerary.

thanks sis, we're planning to fly to London and stay there for a couple of days and then go to Paris by Train. We'll tour Europe for 3-4 weeks. we also want to go to Greece. will our budget be enough?

^^ me. Hubby (then bf) watched Moulin Rouge, for experience lang. I think mahal ang show, i actually  cant remember any of it so i think it could be missed! Hehe. It was 5 years ago when i saw it. But there are shows na hanggang ngayon i still remember. Like i watched a Christmas show (The Rockettes) sa Rockefeller in 2009 na up to now i remember na nag-enjoy ako.

If you have time and willing to spend the amount might as well. You'd only do it in Paris once.

We're planning to go to Japan (Tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka) for our honeymoon. It will be autumn by then so I'm looking forward to all the pretty fall colors!

^ I see, yan yung isa sa factors namin in choosing our airline. I want to book with the one who can get me to Japan in the afternoon so we don't waste a day! Did you land at Narita or Haneda airport? We're travelling for 11 days and hopefully masulit namin. There are so many places I want to see (and restos to try, hehe) pero also keeping in mind that it's a honeymoon so the pacing shouldn't be so hectic. Nasanay kasi ako mag-cram ng activities in my previous itineraries.

^haha kaya nagdalawang isip din ako mag japan kasi gusto ko sana honeymoon na relax lang. kaso tinuloy na namin kasi sayang naman eh. kaya pag dating ko ng pinas nagkasakit ako sa pagod (before the wedding hanggang honeymoon) plus yung change ng weather

Hi reese, Haneda is a lot closer to the city than Narita -- Singapore Airlines flies into HND and out of NRT. If you're travelling to Kyoto and Osaka by train, look into the JR Pass as it may be cheaper than buying tickets when you're already in Japan. And if the restaurants you want to try are well known, see how far in advance you can book; I made my reservations about a month before we travelled but there were several places we couldn't get tables at na!

Thanks, sevenstars! We actually saw this SQ promo c/o BPI but flying to Japan via Singapore would eat up the entire day since we're based in Manila. So we would be going south then heading up north! Hehe. (But I do love SQ and would really pick that as an airline if not for the geographical issue.) We're considering Cathay which flies into HND.

I was looking into the JR Pass also but got confused when I was looking up routes on Hyperdia/Googlemaps. Parang not every train is JR-operated but I guess I need to study Japan's railway system more.

For the restos, my fiance said he'd like to try at least one Michelin-starred restaurant but we're not sure if we should do that in Tokyo or Osaka. Any recommendations?

Hi reese, the shinkansen is JR (so you can use it to travel from Tokyo to Kyoto, Kyoto to Osaka, etc) but if you're commuting by train within Tokyo it'll only work on the JR lines, not the Toei subway. I've never been to Osaka but travelling within Kyoto is pretty easy; you can get bus passes which are quite cheap.
