I know someone who is going to Cape Town  and a safari with the family this summer. I was shocked that they are paying 500k per person for the tour package! This is where h2b and I are planning to go for our honeymoon but goodness we are budgeting much much less than that, and those include top of the line hotels na!! Grabe talaga pag tour. Good thing, h2b and I really dont like joining tours, and also that South Africa is easy to tour on your own like Europe.

As much as possible talaga travel without a tour. Anyway it is easy to just join tour groups for the day. I got a quotation from A2A Safaris here in Manila and the itinerary they gave me is more expensive by 55k per person than if I did the exact same tour by myself and stayed in all the exact same hotels they specified. Hehe thats 110k savings for 2people already!

Ohhh, that's too much nga! And to think South Africa is not expensive. But safaris in Capetown do not have the big five (well, yung mga mga game drive). Best pa rin sa Kruger park.

Sis, if you love wine, go din to Western Cape (Somerset), they have lovely vineyards. You can pm me if you want/need more info sa Cape Town, I worked there for two years

Hi zOz!! Wow you are sooooo lucky you lived there for 2 years!!! =) Yes we're planning to go on a 5 day Safari in Kruger National Park, then rent a car and stay a few days in Hermanus, and Stellenbosch, then 5 Nights in Cape Town. If we have extra budget left, we will do a side trip to Livingstone, Zambia to see Victoria Falls.

I am worried because parang H2B is thinking of going to Europe for honeymoon to take advantage of the very low exchange rates and super low promo fares. but I am dying to go to South Africa!!

We are planning to go to Osaka for our honeymoon. January 2016. But then someone told us to try Europe. And then naisip namin bakit nga ba di namin I try sa europe. Scary kasi yung magagastos pero naisip ko din, mas lalaki yung gastos pag may baby na kami and mas manghihinayang na kami sa money pag nagkataon eh ito naman honeymoon. So we are thinking of getting a UK visa first then get Shengen. Mag train to Paris, then Amsterdam and Belgium. Sana magkatotoo. How much kaya magagastos namin for a 2 week vacation? Mag condo lang kami or low budget hotel, dto na lang kami sa Pilipinas mag hohotel ng maganda para sulit 😊 naeexcite ako!!!

^Yes sis take advantage of the cheap airfares and exchange rate now.  For 800USD round trip ticket na to Europe eh 1st time ko doo economy ticket was 1700USD and 1 Eur WAS 70 PESOS!!

Sis I suggest saka ka na mag UK. Kasi separate visa pa yon. Just keep to the Shengen countries. For me must see talaga is Paris, Rome, Florence, Venice--- next in line is Amsterdam, Lucerne, Barcelona. Enjoy!!

^Sis kakatapos lang nung promo ng Etihad and meron din Qatar. Around 800 USD all in na ata. the 1500 Business class na yon hehe Im not sure if there is still a promo but that was some time in Feb I think. Sis, madali lang to get Shengen Visa. Heheh but not from Italy. Easier via French embassy. Just make dummy hotel reservations and pretend you are staying longer in France VS Italy so that you can apply for a visa sa French Embassy. =)

OK din naman Italian Embassy. But just to show you... yung visa ko issued by France before they gave me 1 year multiple entry. On my last trip I applied via Italian Embassy they only gave me 3 mos multiple entry visa. Heheh matipid sila magbigay ng visa.

I just bought tickets to Manila (Ams-Manila) and mura din Singapore Airlines

I do not recommend group tours, kasi usually inaantay mo yung group and madaming paantay

Most of the museums naman, you can skip the line as if you are in a group tour if you purchase the tickets online. Saka most of the hotels na for group tours eh not so good hotels.

You can try Netherlands embassy, from Amsterdam 3 hours lang train to Paris and the ticket is not that much. Garu de Nord station in Paris is in the center na, yung airport kasi is nasa outskirt (malayo and hassle especially if you have big luggage)

Convenient sis pag group tour na from hotel, hatid sundo by the bus. BUT most big tour groups don't stay in hotels near the nice areas or in the central areas of the city. Sayang because it is so nice to walk around at night especially in Venice and Florence. Plus if you travel on your own you can choose your hotels, or stay in small romantic boutique hotels. Tour groups tend to stay in large chain hotels. Plus you get to choose nice restos to eat in! Pag group tour you are limited to whatever is part of the package.

Mas enjoy talaga me and h2b to travel without a tour group. But of course there are some trips na you cant do alone like Israel, Egypt and Jordan where and Safaris in Tanzania in Senrengeti you need to book a tour for safety na din. Or when we are in a very big group na whole family travelling, a tour group is convenient. Otherwise we really enjoy DIY travel. Sarap mag plan!!

I suggest that you create your own itinerary. Iba kasi ang bonding kapag kayo lang. The problem with tours kasi, sunod-sunuran kayo sa schedule na sinet nila. The best part about travelling in Europe is being able to experience the life, stay at a cafe, walk around the city, tambay sa park, riding the metro (this is also part of the experience) etc.- which you really can't do with a tour group. And tbh, tours are usually for the oldies na. You're not going to enjoy it as much.

I agree!!! Taking a tour group in Europe will spoil the fun a bit. It will be kinda hectic. Heheh no getting tipsy over wine while drinking on your hotel balcony at sunset. No long hours sitting in a cafe and just people watching. No flexibility to go outlet shopping hahaha No sleeping in and having a very lazy brunch in bed.

Oh my gosshhhhh, mas naeexcite talaga ako mag plan ng honeymoon kesa iplan ang wedding. 😊😊😊 meron na ba nakapagtry mag apply sa netherlands embassy? Easier ba compared to french embassy?  Yeah i agree, kahit siguro first time ko, we will diy. I love to wander around and go at my own pace. We are thinking of january kasi after the wedding, tapusin lang namin new year, alis na kami or holy week na lang kasi baka mas magnda weather. Ano mas ok mga sis? Winter kasi gusto namin maka experience hopefully ng snow or spring for a comfortable experience?

Aww thanks kiracharlie. I can go Prague via train as well? I plan to visit, Paris, Italy, Amsterdam and Belgium. Hopefully i can visit switzerland too. Meron ba ako dapat alisin para maisingit ko yung prague? Actually I want to go to london pa nga. Pero baka 2 weeks lang kami kasi we have to consider our budget. If i was able to get a 800 USD RT ticket, how much kaya magagastos namin per person? I plan to book airbnb lang or hostel. Dito na lang ako mag hohotel for staycation. Hinayang ako to pay for a fancy hotel then mag lilibot ako the rest of the day e

^I haven't started with planning our Europe honeymoon too and my wedding is just 8 months away! Planning to start maybe in a few months after our preps is mostly done. I'm scared how much it will cost since we are already spending a huge amount for the wedding. Same question as above--- if i were to just visit Spain, Italy, France, Greece, Amsterdam, Switz etc how much would it cost per person if outside a tour group, for maybe 3-4 weeks? I haven't even fixed what countries yet but that's fairly flexible.
