Mas mataas ang risk for CS at mas malala ang horror story ng CS
Sa mga moms na gusto mag pa CS kasi natatakot mag natural birth tumingin kayo sa youtube kung ano ginagawa sa CS at ano ginagawa pag Normal delivery then you decide kung ano mas nakakatakot.
Noong nag du duty pa ako pag nag aasist ako sa CS ayoko kasi ang messy.

Ano yung mga horror stories sis buggerbabe? hehe.. My mom has gone through C/S herself twice. Me, with my son last Dec. healing depends on individuality. As long as you follow your OB's orders, you will be ok.

I have also watched a video on how they do C/S out of curiosity. Can't believe I've gone through the same procedure after I've watched the vid for someone who is very scared of pain and any surgeries.. and needles also. If possible, don't watch lang before the procedure baka ma tatakot lang.

1st baby ko CS I remember noong 1st part gising ako tapos  kukuwentuhan pa yung mga nurses and doctors pero I can feel my lungs na nahihirapan mag expand sinabi ko sa anethesiologist tapos bigla sila lahat tumahimik at check yung O2 sat ko....... Base sa experience ko dati noong nag duduty pa ako sa ER pag bigla tumahimik yung mga doctor at nag Oppss something is wrong.

I'll be totally honest, sis.. Masakit siya talaga especially the morning after. Ang hirap tumayo, feeling ko hinahati yung katawan ko pero the nurse who was looking after me told me that I need to get used to the pain kasi it's the only way I can attend to my son. That was my motivation to "make friends" with the pain kasi I wanted to breastfeed. I decided na wag munang mag-room in the morning after, wini-wheelchair lang ako sa nursery. I think the best tip I can give you is to have your husband get a room that's close to the nursery para hindi ka masyadong mahirapan. Nag-room in kami the second day na and by the fourth day, umuwi na kami. When I went home, mas mahirap because I didn't have a yaya. It was just me and my husband so effort talaga to move around. Since I was breastfeeding, mas madali kasi wala na kong iniintindi na mga bottles. Ang issue ko lang talaga is taking a bath. Nung nasa hospital kasi bawal pa so my husband would just shampoo my hair tapos sponge bath lang. I gave birth ng April, kataasan ng init kaya that was my only concern. My OB told me to buy Tegaderm para even if I take a bath, hindi mababasa yung cut then mag-swipe ng alcohol sa incision and if wala ng mahapdi then it means magaling na and pwede ng mabasa. Naging ok din naman ako. By the end of the 2nd week, I was able to attend a wedding na. Naka-heels pa ko nun!

I am a person who has a very low pain tolerance so I'm pretty sure kung kaya ko, kaya mo din yan! Goodluck!

i remember sa 2nd baby ko, 24 hrs post CS, e dapat after 24 hrs nakakatayo na basta may binder.. ako elevated lang head of the bed ko, hindi ko talaga kaya.. sa hosp kasi kung saan ako nag work nanganak.. so nasa 6/f ako, pvt room, lagi akong kinukumusta ng head nurse ko na nasa 4/f.. and inform nga ng mga friends ko sa kanya na hindi pa ako tumatayo.. hala, pumunta yung nurse on duty sa room ko at sinabing paakyat na raw yung head nurse ko.. naku, within 10 mins nakatayo ako ng dahan dahan.. ang sakit pero alam ko naman it's good for me.. pag akyat ng head nurse ko, nakita nya nakatayo na ako.. tawa ng tawa mga friends ko sa area..

ang feeling ko nung preggy pa ako opposite ng title. super scared of CS, prefers NSD. awa ni Lord NSD naman and the next day after giving birth parang wala lang except sa episiorrhaphy ko. sobrang takot ako maCS dahil mahiwa lang ng knife sa daliri, ilang araw ko ring iniinda how much more ang hiwain sa tiyan. hanga ako sa mommies na naCS and yung nasundan pa dahil masakit na ang tahi, masakit din sa bulsa ang hospital fee. pero masaya naman ang kapalit, our babies..

i won't judge you just because you want CS over NSD. But I hope you will read up on the pros and cons of having natural birth versus CS. women's bodies are designed to give birth NATURALLY, in case you forgot, women in the past didn't have hospitals and didn't undergo C sections. some even gave birth drug free.

First time ko pa lang magbuntis, pero I really hope na normal delivery naman. I had minor surgery na kasi sa likod and until now, nararamdaman ko parin ang kirot ng sugat ko kahit months na ang nakalipas. And I am really hoping na hindi na madagdagan ang tahi sa katawan ko hehe.

I have a really very scary C-section story, actually madami kasi I worked as OR-DR nurse before getting pregnant. ( I wont be telling the name of the hospital I'm with before for confidentiality purpose)

I don't want to scare you guys. But some of the doctors are taking advantage of their profession and knowledge to win others. Some of them, doesn't care about their patient, they care only for their own interest, but there are some doctors who are pro NSD and they really good in taking care of their patients, yun nga lang matataray sila sa staff kasi alam nilang wala silang ginagawa hocus focus sa patient nila at super OC talaga. Yung mababait sa hospital staff yun yung may itinatagong kaunting hocus pokus. Pero if i were to choose i will choose the doctor who really cares for their patients.

Going back, A pregnant patient was admitted to the labor room. She was having mild contractions. The resident doctor's Vaginal examination result was the cervix of the patient was still close. (Sa ibang doctor they will wait until the contractions becomes stronger and to deliver the baby normally). I called patient's OB to relay IE result, she ordered me to start Oxytocin drip. Oxytocin drip was used to induced labor. I explained to patient the treatment regimen her doctor was planning to do. I explained her that this drug was used to induce labor. The patient agreed and I started the drip. I did my best to help the patient during her labor. I massaged her uterus until the contractions become regular and I advised her to stimulate her nipples. The resident doctor did the vaginal examination after 2 hours. there is no progress the cervix was still close. We called her OB about it and her OB instructed to increase the oxytocin drip rate and said "I- monitor mo yung FHR (Fetal Heart Rate) ah kasi mamaya niyan tataas na yan para ma CS ko na yung pasyente ko pagdating ko mamaya)" I was a newbie in that hospital before and I was shocked when I heard that. I even notifed my senior nurse about that incident and he said "style yan talaga ni doktora pag kasi nagstart ka ng oxytocin on 1st stage ng labor ang tendency noon tataas ang heartbeat ng baby. Tapos i-eexplain niya sa parents na nag fefetal distress yung baby, matatakot ang parents kaya papayag na mag pa CS, at saka yang si doktora tamad magbantay yan kaya tingnan mo yung mga buntis niya puro CS lahat. Walang wala kay Dra ****** masipag magbantay sa buntis kaya puro NSD patient niya. Ang mga scheduled CS niya ay yung repeat CS at Yung hindi pwede manganak ng normal tulad ng may placenta previa. Minsan lang yan mag emergency at emergency naman talaga. O siya iprepare mo na ang OR at mamaya toxic na tayo pagdating ni doktora. Iready mo na gagamitin sa CS"

My senior nurse called her OB when the heartbeat increase to 200s beats per minute. When her OB came. Its true, the patient was advised for an Emergency CS. She explained everything to her patient and her husband about fetal distress and the need for an emergency CS. The informed consent was secured and the operation was started. The anesthesia was started, antiseptic technique was followed during the procedure. The incision was made until the OB reached the uterus. Since I was a newbie, I was just observing. When the OB reached the uterus she made an incision to patient's uterus AND THIS IS THE WORST PART, she accidentally cut the baby's face.

Due to that incident, the OB was not allowed to practice her medical profession because her tactics was revealed. And sadly the baby has a SCAR on her right face, a lifelong scar made by that careless OB

And now, the hospital was strict in their CS protocol. The CS rate decreased.

^Oh my. Can't believe na may mga taong kayang i-risk ang buhay ng baby and mom just to earn Kung ako yung mom, kakasuhan ko yang OB na yan. Kawawa yung baby Buti scar lang. But still, nakakainis!! Kung ganyan nangyari sa anak ko nako baka magka-WW3 sa hospital. Buti na lang nsd ako.

^^omg. I'm just relieved to hear na napagalaman yung ginagawa niya at di na siya allowed to continue her practice.

Ako naman I try not to judge women who opt for scheduled CS. Kanya kanya din kasing rason yan eh. But my advice to the original poster is to study the process of both NSD and CS first, then make a decision. Read about the advantages and disadvantages of both to the mom and baby. Watch a video of NSD and CS to get an idea what happens during. Madami yan floating around the web. Kaysa magdesisyon na agad from stories heard or dahil CS ang choice ng marami sa kakilala. Just my two cents. 

My first birth was NSD with epidural. For this second pregnancy, kung kaya, yun pa rin ang pipiliin ko.

NSD ang gusto ko. Gusto ko ma feel yung pain ng normal na panganganak. Parehas naman silang may pain eh. Sa NSD may pain during labor, Sa CS may pain after delivery. Alin man doon sa dalawa mahirap. Ika nga "Kapag buntis ka, yung kabilang paa mo nasa hukay". Basta ang mahalaga lumabas ang mga baby ng maayos, malusog, walang birth defect. Yun lang naman ang hinihiling nating mga INA. Pero ako sis, suggest ko NSD na lang.

^^^Grabe naman, buti na lang may positive action ang management ng hospital.

Mas mabuti kung kikilalanin mong mabuti ang OB mo para malaman mo ang tamang procedure na pagdadaanan mo. Saka yung sarili naman natin ang makakaramdam, pwedeng advantage sa iba, tapos disadvantage sa iyo.

Emergency CS na ako sa first ko, kaya hindi na ako masyadong nahirapang mag-adjust sa scheduled CS ng second ko, kahit 6 years ang pagitan nila.

^technology wasn't as good, in general... and this includes the CS procedure. I don't think antenatal tests matter as much kasi healthy babies still die during birth kapag walang kwentang duktor ang humawak. Lately lang may kumalat sa FB na pic ng baby na namatay - breech pero pinilit i-normal delivery ng OB.

and I agree with jenger. After I gave birth, my OB ordered pelvimetry (CT) for me kasi nga nagthicken ang cervix ko after 13 hrs in labour and from 6cm (this is the maximum dilation na na-reach ko), naging 5cm sya bigla. So parang umaatras si baby. My water bag broke na rin so sa tagal ko nagle-labour, konti na lang tubig na natitira sa loob.

Pelvimetry results show my pelvis was really narrow. May .4 difference dun sa low range.

EDIT: But then again, I've always known my body to do strange things. Lagi na lang weird ang case ko na naba-baffle ang doctors. Also the major reason why we opted to go private here in Australia instead of public.

sis, cpd is not the most common reason i think, based on my exp as delivery room nurse in the phil and abroad.. if the patient has no prenatal check up,  they take the fundic ht to determine if the patient can or cannot deliver the baby via nsd.. if still in doubt, they take the history of the patient, such as the weight of her prev deliveries, and so on.. they can perform utz stat as well.. they cannot just say it's cpd and write it as indication for the operation.. even though it's the doctor's "palusot" just to perform CS, dapat may basis pa rin sila why they chose cpd.. they have this so called census, kaya dapat ma defend nila the indication.. or else, they will be questioned by the hosp admin and the DOH if someone files a complaint..

right sis, anything can happen during deliveries.. it really depends on how good/great your OB is..

Sa Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital di sila basta basta mag CS, I heard mismo dun sa attendant ng OB ko na inaaudit ata yung OB kapag CS.

ako naman naalala ko ng mga panahon na naglelabor ako sobrang ingay at kulit ko non, di ko na alam kung anong position ang gagawin ko, sa sobrang sakit ng labor, ako nga pinaka maingay dun sa labor room, kaya sabe ko sa mga resident doctor don, na tawagin na yung ob ko at magpapa CS nalang ako, pero ang babait ng mga resident md don and nurses, at syempre yung OB ko.

inexplain nila sa akin, na hindi sila basta basta ng CCS, hanggang sa dumating na yung ob ko, ang sabe nya sa akin, NSD daw ako, at wag ako mag aalla kasi alam nyang kaya kong mailabas baby ko ng normal.tapos ayun may ininject na sa akin, at nakatulog na ako sa sobrang pagod siguro sa pag lelabor, pero naramdaman ko pa yung pag push sa tyan ko ng dalang resident md don, yun nalang ang naramdaman ko tapos paggising ko tapos na pala. painless. after 3-4days nakakatawa haha nakakatakbo na ako. though meron akong episiotomy.

kaya ngpapasalamat ako kasi hnd pera pera ang OB ko unlike others na may mga tactic pa, para lang makapag cs,syempre nga naman mas malaki kita nila CS compared sa NSD.

I've heard stories from my friends who are working in one country in Middle East na mataas daw ang rate ng CS sa pinaka public hospital nila. parang PGH version nila. isa pa nga dun buntis kong friend na wala naman daw dapat complications kasi maliit lang naman daw yung baby niya but still pinush ng doctor dun na I-CS siya. hindi naman daw siya umalma kasi may pagka engot na daw siya nung oras na yun.

I wonder why? after reading some horror stories about CS (that are candidate for NSD), it's probably because may mga OB na tamad maghintay sa pasyente nila at easiest way out for the baby is to do CS. lalo na sa lugar ng mga arabo kung saan sila ang doctor, hindi ko man nilalahat ah, pero madami sakanila ang tamad magtrabaho kaya hindi nakakapataka ginagawa nila eto sa pasyente nila.
