Hi mga sis! Just wondering and for the preparation na rin. magkano ang binyaran nyo sa hospital/lying in nung nanganak kayo... para yung mga mommy to be na tulad ko may idea naman kung san mas mura.
Mas okay sana ibigay yung info:

1. Total bills
2. Hospital name/ lying in
3. NSD or CS
4. Doctor's name
5. Deduction from SSS or philhealth if applicable.
6. Reviews, other info pano makatipid?

1. Total bills - 12000 (including new born screening, baby check up and vit k, vaccine etc)
2. Hospital name/ lying in - MAM Lying-in Clinic
3. NSD or CS - NSD
4. Doctor's name - Dra. Minda A. Mariano
5. Deduction from SSS or philhealth if applicable. - NA
6. Reviews, other info pano makatipid?


Here are some ways para makatipid:

*First and foremost, be disciplined.
   -don't overeat, eat healthy foods, take good care of your health and your hygiene.
      if not, possible na - tumaas ang blood sugar mo and need to take insulin, maging highblood ka, overweight ka and si baby - pwede kang mahirapan sa panganganak and malaki ang possibility na maCS ka, magkaka UTI ka, need to take antibiotics na mejo mahal -addtl expenses and pwedeng magkaprob kay baby paglabas.

*If you want, hanap ka ng OB na may lying in clinic and affiliated din sa malapit na hospital. (ganito ginawa ko)

*May mga hospitals na may charity service - nasa 5k lang ata yun, mura na, complete facilities pa + doctor pa magpapaanak sayo.. tyagaan nga lang sa pila (eg. la salle dasma, perpetual biñan)

*May mga primary hospitals sa iba't ibang town.. dito samin, 5k lang din ata, pero midwife ang magpapaanak sayo..

*Exercise, esp pag malapit ka na manganak, makakatulong yan para sa normal delivery mo.. tsaka para maovercome mo yung pagod during labor.. sobrang nakakapagod kaya...


--May mga bagay na hindi natin macocontrol especially pag naglalabor ka, basta ngayon do your part, live healthy, choose the best available resources and always pray.

- Yung OB ko affiliated din sa lying-in. Kung NSD sana ako sa lying-in lang dapat ako manganganak. Sabi ni OB between 10-15k lang ang bill dun. Tama si sis  eilegna hanap ka ng OB na affiliated din sa lying in kung ok lang sayo na manganak sa lying in.

- Follow your OB. Pag sinabing kailangan na magdiet, do it.

- I don't know if this is true pero talk to your baby. One ultrasound ko kasi from cephalic biglang naging transverse position ni baby. Sabi kausapin ko lang na pmwesto siya ng maayos. Ginawa ko ayun pmwesto naman siya. Wouldn't hurt to try and do this naman.

- Yung ibang vitamins and gamot na nireseta saken yung generic lang ang binili ko para mas mura. Ok lang naman daw yun sabi ni doc.

- Mag-ipon. You'll never know what may happen. Katulad saken. Positive ako na NSD lang ako and sa lying-in lang manganganak pero bigla ako naCS. Emergency din ang gastos.

The service is good... Konti lang kase patients nila kaya tutok ang staff sa baby ko... Nag-iisa sa nursery/NICU baby ko...  Malinis ang facilities...

always be ready lalo na financially... Mahirap kase if you're ready for an NSD but you will end up sa CS... Ready your things ahead of time like milk, pads, diapers, mas mahal kase sa hospital yan...

6. Reviews, other info pano makatipid? Overall, ok ang army hospital especially sa dependents. as in libre lahat pati gamot. malinis din ang OB ward and OR nila. sobrang attentive pa ng mga nurses nila.sobrang laki ng natipid namin compared sa previous CS ko na umabot ng 90k.

bakit sis yang, what happened?

Sis iluvmysoldier: dahil sa incident na ito.

last may, i arrived in manila just in time for moms operation ( quadruple bypass) i was 21 weeks
and 5 days pregnant at that time. i was apparently well until a day after. nighttime, i had pain in my lower back. so i decided to go home. while i was changing i noticed my panties were soaked. i just couldnt see clearly whether it was blood or just a whitish discharge since i was wearing colored panties that time. suddenly when i pee there was blood gushing through my legs while i was at the shower. i hurriedly called my husband.and he brought me to Army general hospital, since its nearer our place. this where the horror began. while at the ER a certain Colonel. an OB. examined me. she said she cant hear a heartbeat so she performed an IE . she said my cervix is opened
and she can palpate a fetal part, probably foot. her impression was inevitable abortion, non septic , non induced.we were surprised. completely dont know what would are emotions be. she even mention " baka hindi pa para sainyo." " antayin nalang natin lalabas din yan baka bukas then sa lunes iraspa kana" " mahirap kasi ngayon pilitin mag kakalasog lasog ang bata." she didnt give me any medication but only started on IV fluids to run for 16 hours D5LR 1 liter & i was scheduled for D&C coming monday. the following morning. i told my husband i cant believe what the OB had said last nite about my condition and that of the baby. How certain could she be na may i-sched ako for D&C agad na sure siyang nakukunan na nga ba ako, where in she couldnt find the right speculum size at that time.  this prompted me to transfer to another hospital. we transferred, at UDMC, i was examined, interviewed and TVS and Pelvimetry was done. IE: was cervix closed + palpated mass. the UTZ, confirmed there's no fetal part protruding nor abortion. it was just an endocervical polyp that has gone prolapse that is causing the bleed. Whew! i thank god!

nag file kami compalint kasi mukhang abortionista yun siya rathen than a practicing OB.
pano nalang yun ibang walang options  di tulad namin. nagulat pa siya after that incident she learned from the on duty Post grad interns na pareho kaming drs nun asawa ko.

o well, i just hope everyone learned from this scenario. pero on our part especially on my part i was emotionally terrorized. Good riddance kay doctora.

To sis iluvmysoldier: just what i've said in my previous post. you are lucky! enjoy motherhood sis. malapit na din kami. this time will go  directly at MMC.

Just want to share, wala po ako binayaran,, donation lang sis.. sa kamuning lying -in clinic ako nanganak and prenatal check-up is also free po.. with free iron plus folic acid vitamins na po yun.. run by the city government po kasi yung lying-in..
For those na curious if its clean lalo na yung facilities,, its clean po.. even the delivery room air conditioned po.. the doctors are very nice and midwives..

oh my, nakakatakot nga yung experience mo sis yang buti na lang at lumipat kayo ng hospital at nagseek ng second opinion. bat kaya nagkaganon si mam cayetano? nako, if i were on your shoes, i would have done the same thing. buti na lang ok na kayo ni baby, thank God!
ask ko pala, bakit sa AGH kayo dumirecho? tumatanggap pala sila ng civies dun?

applicable - None dahil kulang ako ng hulog

Reviews, other info pano makatipid? - maayos naman ang room namin, 1 bed and 1 couch na tinulugan ng sister ko. wala nga lang kasamang food. atat ako umuwi dahil ang liit ng c.r, hindi ako makakilos ng ayos. kasama na rin sa package rounds ng pedia and 2 times naman binisita si baby. mabait ang reliever OB. hindi masakit pagIE nya after delivery and maayos talaga ang tahi ko.

sa encouragement ng nurse kaya kami nakatipid. sa sobrang sakit nung 7cm na, nagsabi ako itransfer na lang ako sa tertiary hospital nearby dahil that time andun din yung reliever OB nagpapaanak para magpaepidural anesthesia ako. hindi ako pinakinggan ng nurse at pinalakas ang loob ko na kaya ko ang labor at konting tiis na lang. kinaya naman.

When I gave birth in February last year

1. Total bills: 110K, cash out of 25K, the rest was covered by HMO/Phil health
2. Hospital name/ lying in: Cardinal Santos
3. NSD or CS: NSD
4. Doctor's name: Dr. Luna-Sun
5. Deduction from SSS or philhealth if applicable. -I think my philhealth deduction amounted to 3 or 4K, basta really small. I was surprised. My monthly payment for the last year was more than what was covered
6. Reviews, other info pano makatipid? Rooming in  your baby, my baby stayed at the nursery so she incurred nursery charges. Try asking for ward packages (some require a previous successful NSD though).

If delivery will be via NSD, suggest to get OB ward room nstead of private para hindi masyadong matagal bill since saglit lang naman sa ospital pag nsd..

^hubs is in the service. siya lang while ako nag re-residency training. ang samin lang madocument yun incident.
