Admitting you are weak now is a sign of strength.
I faced the same situation, almost everything gone, and was sick. I turned to God. He listened.
Now, I do not recall the difficulty that much. If you can recall one difficulty in life, d ba, parang wala na rin? It's the same, this too, shall pass away.
What do I do, in difficult times? I go to my room, in a corner, kneel down, and pour out everything, I cry out. What amazes me, is the sudden peace I get from it. I think, that's what I need most during that time. It clears my mind, to be able to do things, one at a time. Pray the rosary, and I become more at peace, especially, if I pray about peace between people, among countries, families, neighbors. When I think of those, it kept my mind from worrying.
Later on, grace will come from God, and let me offer everything to Him. Trust Him 100%. I pray as if that's the only weapon in the world. and I trust, as if He's the only worker. and I do, as if this is my only chance. Then I relax, laugh, smile and give alms or do a good work. I don't know but it keeps me grounded. I'm far more blessed than those who can't have a decent meal once a day.
Summary, I kneel down and pour out everything to Him (and cry, and listen). Pray the rosary. Go to mass, offer everything to him (my hopes, fears, aches, pains, happiness, relaxation, etc.). Trust Him completely, (let Him do things for me, those that I can't). Just do what I have to do, what I can do. Do a good work, laugh, smile and wait for God to work for me. This method never failed me, been doing this since 2002!
