The Speculoos Craze

dito sa Le Pain (PQ) nagbebenta din sila ng speculoos, pero organic and made from Denmark daw. i wanna try sana pero hubs is telling me na baka ipisin na mga spread ko dito na nakatambak. hehe

i only learned about speculoos from a friend who's mom came over and I asked herwhat she wanted. so na pa research pa ako what it was. I've had the biscoff cookies noon kasi that's the official cookie ng delta airbut even if that was being sold in groceries  would buy. then ayan si speculoos na spread i found a different brand that costs $10++ a bottle thats what I got my friend sabi nya sosyalin ang lasa versus tj''s and she  doesn't get why tj's is better-well probably coz it's cheapera nd more available but lotus now is being sold in target. na news yung craze dito kasi biglang madami nag ho-hoard.   I haven't compared the two with tj's i still have the unopened ottle there in the cupboar. but I've tasted lotus i like the crunchy version din naman but it's not something i'd go crazy about. actualy pag tagal lasa syang puto seko lol well the cookie itself does taste and has a bit of the texture of puto seko/ seco.

I am very intrigued with Lotus Biscoff choco but I cant seem to find it.  Meron ba sa UK nito?  If yes, saan?  My friend is coming home next month magpapabili sana ako. TIA!

Madami ng cookie butter na available sa market ngayon, though hindi TJ and lotus ang brand. They're a lot cheaper, like sa robinson's supermarket, I was able to buy one at 270php, made in Belgium din. That's a lot cheaper than TJ's and Lotus' selling price of 450-500php. Though I like the taste of Lotus best, I think that price is too much. Sabagay, law of supply and demand nga. Sa meijer, 3usd lang ang Lotus, grabe ang patong nila.

I'm eating it on toast right now The one I bought (Lotus brand) was €4.50, around $6 or Php 262 according to my currency app I won't go crazy though over this spread, I have it for almost 3 weeks now and bottle is still not empty. Maybe I'll get the choco flavor tomorrow and see how it tastes.

May Lotus speculoos spread na sa duty free phils grocery section. Nasa more than P300 lang yung price. Yung smooth variant lang ang meron sila.

Meron sa London. Pakalat-kalat lang daw sa grocery / supermarket. My friend who is based there sent me a couple of jars. In my opinion, there's something bitin about the taste. Parang may kulang na ingredient. Yes, tama yung isang nagpost, minsan the taste reminds me of puto seko. Hehe. I still prefer Nutella over this one.

Finally, dumating din ang orders ko. I wanted to try selling it too and for our consumption din. After posting the pics 2 hours ago, SOLD na lahat. Speculoos craze nga, I sold it for P380. Masarap siya kapag paulit-ulit mo ng tinitikman not too sweet, just enough pero hindi ako super magiging crazy over it. Siguro I'll rate it 3.5 out of 5.
