The Speculoos Craze

So finally natikman ko na ito, yung Biscoff creamy. May nagpa-free taste sa weekend food tiangge sa Eastwood. Masarap naman sya but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy this or pay a lot for a jar.

Just finished our TJ's crunchy and cookie butter last weekend, at first I was so curious what's the rave all about? actually late bloomer na nga ako anyways, I like the crunchy more than creamy. And yes! masarap nga siya, may something sa taste nya, just ordered couple of jars more, I just can't get enough, I'm not keen on trying different brand since hindi naman ako talaga mahilig sa matamis, eto lang talaga nagustuhan ko (siguro in time magsasawa din ako ) but not know lol!  My MIL was able to snag TJ's Crunchy in Pioneer Mandaluyong when I came back for it sold out na agad.

Sobrang daming crushed cookies ng Biscoff crunchy. Now ko lang inopen yung jar ko. Masarap yung creamy, pero lalo 'tong crunchy.

My 4-year old niece is the top eater ng cookie butter dito sa bahay. She loves TJ's crunchy! She eats "bun bread (dinner rolls hehe) with cookie butter" after meals as dessert, and as a snack. Noong Thursday lang namin dinala dito sa house yung cookie butter, now the jar's almost finished na mainly because of the lil one

my brother who is in the US started asking me to sell TJ Speculoos both creamy and crunchy and he was amazed na in 1 month naka 5 boxes na kami.  To think na wala pang dumadating dito as in next week plang yata parating yung 1st box pero grabe mga friends namin kung bumili 20 bottles of creamy and 20 bottles of crunchy.  Nakakaloka! Kaya lang sabi ng brother ang hirap maghanap and most of the time he spends 20usd one way para lang to check the store kung meron kasi siyempre by the time na tumawag siya meron pero kapag punta niya not sure kung nandun pa.  Nasawa na nga ako ng kakabenta =) Sabi ko hanap na lang ng resellers, let the others earn profit as well.    Mura lang talaga ang TJ sa US but if we add the gas, toll fee, balikbayan box, courrier fee...e talagang nagiging mahal. AS of now, since laging sold out ang boxes namin hindi pa rin ako nakakatikim.  I hope sa 5th box may matira kahit 1 bottle lang for me.

When I heard that HO is selling Lotus at 375 I myself was tempted to buy para matikman then my brother told me he bought 10 pcs and I told him na it was sold at 375 sabi nya bibigay na lang niya sa amin yung 10 bottles para matikman namin yung lotus tapos nagulat na lang ako when he send the box wala na yung Lotus binalik nya.

S&R posted a notice on their FB page that they now have Destrooper Speculoos cookie butter available. Curious ako what this tastes like. I finally got to try TJ's crunchy cookie butter, for me it's much better than the creamy variant!

I bought this at S&R. It only retails for 199.75 per bottle. Online sellers sell these for 300-350 per bottle, grabe mark up prices nila.
I have to say, masarap din Jules Destrooper Speculoospasta. May similar taste siya with TJ.

My sister gave me a jar of crunchy cookie butter, we tasted it for breakfast a while ago. For me ok lang the taste. Masarap siya but not something i would go all the way to buy. On the other hand, hubby loved it! Na addict daw siya. Curious naman ako now sa biscoff.

Grabe ang bilis ko maubos yung 1 bottle ng biscoff crunchy, compared sa biscoff creamy or tj. while waiting for the bread to toast, pinapapak ko na. Lol.

yung ovomaltine, masarap din, pero for I want both, for time to time para maiba yung lasa, so far sa cookie butter sa the sandwuch guy lang ako nag oorder, kasi pag sa bahay baka hindi maubos yung isang bottle very seldom na din kasi kumain sa bahay

bought creamy lotus biscoff and crunchy speculoos sa blue kitchen tapos jules destrooper naman sa s&r pero ewan mas prefer ko pa homemade peanut butter.

@letters_to_cleo, sis dahil sa post mo tinikman ko ayan kahit ang tamis kain ako ng ovomoltine crunchy pero husband ko ayaw mas type yun lotus crunchy. Sa waffle nya nilalagay minsan sa toast.

I like Lotus creamy over TJ crunchy. I have yet to try Jules Destrooper. Meron na din Jules in Rustan's grocery pero biscuits and cookies yun nakita ko, walang cookie butter.

sis snowyice ..korek sis ganito na den ginawa namen ng couz ko... nung mga month ng March nung na wala pa gaanong nakakaalam ng Speculoos ang dali lang mabili sa TJ's hoard kung hoard... pero nitong buwan since nag rerestock na kame... sabi ni pinsan, dun sa store na malapit sa kanila, 1 Jar for 1 Person per day, naloookkaa kame hehe sabi niya kailangan niya pa mag hatak nang mga kamag anak namen dun para makabili lang medyo strict daw sa branch na yun, pero meron silang napuntahan na store sa ibang location na pwedeng mag pareserve... tama mura kung duon bibili pero pag calculate na ang gas, effort, tax and shipping nag mamahal na pagdating dito
