i just started baking when i quit my job to become a full time mom...  ;D its really my past time when my toddler is in school... kinulit ko si hubby to buy me kahit cheap hand mixer lang... so we bought hanabishi hand mixer for only P800  ;D...
My mother in law also taught me her authentic coconut macaroons version and I'm selling them sa mga close friends... (as my sideline  ;D) http://on.fb.me/1qx1vjf

Now, i have baked choco chip cookies, brownies, choco & red velvet cupcakes and oreo cheesecakes... I'm hoping makagawa din ako ng cupcakes with pretty frosting  :-[

No fail buttercream frosting that I use:

2 sticks butter
3 cups powdered sugar
1 tbsp heavy cream
+ whatever flavoring you want (usually 1 tsp vanilla extract)

Make sure lang to whip the softened butter (yung gusto ko medyo cold pa siya) until light and fluffy (naging very light yellow) then add the sugar 1 cup at a time :)

^Fondant is really easy to work with. Amazon sells a kit for beginners. I personally don't use fondant, it taste yucky. I prefer simple icing glaze or buttercream.

1. Do you use dark or light brown sugar for baking? (e.g. cookies)
2. 1 cup of butter ba is yung isang buong bar? I tried baking cookies using 1 whole bar and parang naging flat masyado un cookies.
3. Why is it when I bake cookies, pag labas ng oven maalsa sya tapos after a few minutes nagiging flat. Ano kaya yung mali sa ginawa ko? :(

@runbarbierun any alternative to heavy cream? I think medyo mahal kasi sya e. :(

On a pinch, I use all-purpose cream. :D You can use regular milk - but use less kasi masyadong liquid-y. :)

*1 cup butter = 2 sticks/225 grams :) Baka luma na yung baking soda/powder mo, sis? di kaya?

^ hi sis. try ko sagutin ilang questions mo..

1. Do you use dark or light brown sugar for baking? (e.g. cookies) - i use half white half light brown (yung tamang color lang sis. not too light)

2. 1 cup of butter ba is yung isang buong bar? I tried baking cookies using 1 whole bar and parang naging flat masyado un cookies. yes, 1c=1bar=2 sticks. for cookies i use 1/2cbutter and 1/2c shortening para di maging flat

3. Why is it when I bake cookies, pag labas ng oven maalsa sya tapos after a few minutes nagiging flat. Ano kaya yung mali sa ginawa ko? (http://www.femalenetwork.com/girltalk/Smileys/default/sad.gif) what recipe do you use sis? try mo recipe ng nestle toll house. search mo nlng. tapos use my tips above. walang mintis yan :) you can check my cookies on my fb page para makita mo output dun.

happy baking!!

Upper heating, upper heating with convection, upper and lower with convection, upper and lower, lower, or lower with convection? Tinry ko yung upper heating with convection, sunog yung taas ng cookies. Tinry ko yung upper and lower heating with convection, ok naman kaso parang medyo mabagal ng konti yung baking time?
