^Hi sis!

How is Dulce de Leche different from Tres Leche (following a recipe posted here by one of our sisses, from Heny Sison cooking school)? I tried Trea leche yesterday and it looks and tastes okay. However some of the pictures of Tres Leche I saw from the Internet are really soaked with the filling while some have baking soda and a bit cakey.

Ano ba talaga dapat?

Tres leche is different sis. Dulce de leche is like yemma taste. I boil mo lang yung milk maid can for an hour, viola, may dulce de leche ka na.. haha! I read it from one of the pinoy blogs, pwede mo na syang ihalo sa frosting to make dulce de leche frosting.

Btw, it only works sa milk maid condensed milk.

Hi sis, you might wanna try this recipe,http://www.glorioustreats.com/2011/07/perfect-vanilla-cupcakes-recipe.html. i tried yun ibang recipe nya, the best yung results. But havent tried this one yet, di kasi ako makahanap ng pure vanilla extract. I have tried making vanilla cupcake before from other site, di ko nagustuhan yun lasa, siguro dahil hindi pure vanilla yung ginamit ko.

sis eto yung tried and tested na ginagamit kong recipe for vanilla cupcakes: http://www.browneyedbaker.com/2010/10/28/vanilla-cupcakes-vanilla-buttercream-frosting/. hindi naman pure vanilla extract gamit ko dyan, yung ordinary vanilla lang na nabibili sa supermarket gamit ko. super sarap yan, it never failed me up to now.

anyway, gusto ko rin i-try yung kay gloriouseats, curious ako kasi walang butter na ginamit. meron lang ako di naintindihan sa recipe nya, sinabi nya to use 1/2 cup buttermilk and substitute it with 1/2 cup milk plus 1/2 TSP vinegar. ang alam ko kasing substitute is 1/2 TBS not TSP. eto rin gamit kong substitution sa vanilla cupcakes na ginagamit ko, tbs and not tsp. ang haba kasi ng mga comments sa site nya eh wala naman akong makitang comment na nag-correct sa tsp and tbs kaya medyo alanganin ako kung gagawin ko, ano kaya susundin ko?

^ sis I refer to that site as well. haven't tried her vanilla cupcake recipe but her red velvet recipe was great! I just reduced the sugar. Now I'm confused which one to follow first. Hehe

Re buttermilk: I use Tbsp as well. I think that's a universal measurement and ratio for buttermilk substitute.

^ yey! Mukhang moist na moist yung chocolate cake mo sis! :) But ombre effect is from dark color to light, diba? ;)

Anyway, ako din, magpopost na din ng last creation ko for my daughter's 5th month birthday since uso ang Ombre effect ngayon. :)

Choco-vanilla cake with pink ombre buttercream. :) Excuse the cake board. Naubusan ako ng round boards. Hehe https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10201516774344046&l=8871c9e207

Sana napicturan ko pala under fluorescent light.

^^ Sis Mara, I'm still experimenting sa marshmallow icing. However, hindi kasi sya naghohold masyado ng shape. Although I didn't use cream of tartar. Or fondant. ;)

^excuse the "ombre".  :) yup, dapat 3shades of yellow (or of any color). e napagod na ako, kaya 1color nalang. pilit ko kasi ginagaya yung ombre cake ng wilton.  ;D

can't view the picture pala.

sa marshmallow icing, i use cream of tartar. naghold naman for 1M swirl and wilton rose.

^ ako na sasagot sis. :) it's usually located in the chilled section katabi ng yogurt, butter etc. If you can find one, plain yogurt is a great substitute. Most groceries carries it. ;)

Sis j27, hindi kita? Maybe i didn't set it to public. Repost ko nalang.

just found out this food website for bread and pastry. They have a lot but was just able to bake 2 from it, the almond biscotti and the cinnamon bread stick which was perfect for a hot cup of brewed barako.
