^I've tried KLM to Europe and Emirates and SQ within Asia. In terms of service and on board amenities, I'll go for EK (Emirates) and SQ. KLM kasi super simple lang but their food is very good. Pwede ka pa mag pre-order ng menu nila.

Lately though my trips to Europe as a revenue passenger, I've been taking CX. Mas gusto ko kasi yung transit time nila (from one to two hours lang). Plus I always make abang their fare deals (Buy 1 take 1 50% Off). Okay din sana KLM since mura din sya pag nag sale (for example yung $899 all-in to Paris) kaya lang hindi na sya direct to Amsterdam unlike before. Now nag-stop pa sya sa Taipei kaya mahaba ang travel time.

If you want to save a bit more in your air fare, try to go during non-peak season. Here in Manila and non-peak out bound travel is from late September to March except during the Christmas holidays.

As promise, sharing with you our recent trip to germany, frankfurt to be precise....compare to paris mas gusto ko ang vibes ng frankfurt/heidelberg/bammental ang dali pag aralan ng s-bahn nila. Worth ang pagpunta ng last week of November though malamig siya ng 2-3 degrees vs Paris. Ang ganda ng christmas market, ang daming locals na talagang nag eenjoy I tried the hot wine, wahhhh di ko siya type (kahit anong wine kaya di ako pwede sa munich hehe) tapos yung sausages nila. Masarap din ang schinitzel nila hehe halatang walang ginawa kundi kumain ng local foods plus nordsee. As to sighseeing, ang napuntahan ko yung the usual areas nila, Zeil street halos nandoon na landmarks ng Frankfurt (reacahble sila thru S-Bahn). Then nung weekend nag train kami to Heidelberg - ang ganda ng castle Next time gusto ko puntahan naman neuschwanstein castle and experience yung travelling on your own rented car. Basta i fell in love with germans sooooobrrrang disiplinado pati yung honest system nila grabe! palibhasa di masyado maraming migrants pa sa kanila compare again sa Paris. Sorry ha pero between the 2 countries mas gusto dito hehe

hi guys! who here has visited neuschwanstein castle in off season, say october. mahaba ba pila sa ticket center even though you bought it online? i understand you will have to pick it up sa counter. have a friend who went there kasi just this May and it took them 2 hours daw just to pick up their reserved tickets. im trying to fix my itinerary so i want to know if i need to allot 2 hours for ticket pick up. thanks!

^we visited Neuschwanstein in October 2010 as part of our Romantic Road tour trip. We got the 14-day Bavarian Pass which is good for all castles/tourist attractions (selected) in the Bavarian region. At the ticket office of Neuschwanstein/Hohenschwangau we just had to show our pass and select a castle tour time. No pila except going inside the castle but waiting time was less than one hour. we are staying at steinenberger airport hotel. can someone teach me how to get to the city? and what attractions to see?

from my limited reading, we plan to go to: romerberg square, st.bartholemew's cathedral, goethe house, zeil street. what s-bahn stops are these located?

^hi foxymom, the last time I went to Germany, I didn't go to to Frankfurt. We went to Hamburg by plane from London, stayed there a couple of days, and then went to Berlin, Potsdam, Dresden and another city. After Hamburg, even when we were going our to other places, our main base was Berlin and we would go back even late at night.

You can avail of  maps from the airport itself or the train station, or even from your hotel. Their metro line (whether in Berlin or Hamburg) are actually very easy to follow. Thus Frankfurt would probably be no different.  What you can do is google the places where you want to go, maybe try tripadvisor. And take down notes.  We found it to be pretty useful.  The rail maps and and the maps itself are pretty accurate as to where the famous tourist places are. You can also check the rails nearest to each location. That was how we got around. Hope this helps.

By the way it will be Oktoberfest when you arrive there, so try their local beer . Am not sure if they will start their Christmas market during that time but if you do see one, go visit as it's a nice experience. Try their mulled wine Good luck. Food is good in Germany. Cheaper compared to France

sis, you may want to use this http://www.rmv.de/ to check the possibilities on how to go to certain destination, makikita mo dyan kung ano sasakyan mo, bus or bahn or walking distance lang.. andyan na rin timetable kung anong oras dadaan ang s-bahn or u-bahn na sasakyan mo.

^malapit lang naman Leipzig to Berlin so okay lang. Pero Berlin to Munich medyo malayo na around 7 hours via train. How many days are you planning to visit Berlin and Munich? And where will you be flying out of on your way back?

Rothenburg? Is this Rothenburg ob der Tauber? You can do this as a day trip from Munich but you really have to start early so you maximize your time. Ideally though overnight sana kasi ang highlight dito is the Night Watchman's tour. We stayed here for two nights and bitin-bitin pa rin kami.

^^ Hi sis. If I may, tama si mama squeek, kaya pa naman mag Berlin. But if you're going pa to Munich and Rothenburg, I'm not sure you will have enough time. If you're starting your trip on the 30th to Berlin, then that will leave you about a day each, not to mention the travel time. How about pick a region, then go with the nearby areas. Like, from Leipzig, either go to Munich and Rothenburg, or just stay in Berlin and make daytrips to nearby places. That way you can enjoy the places as well. I'm only suggesting this as you are quite strap for time, not to mention train fares are also quite expensive, so you may want to maximize as much time in the cities that you visit. A return fare from Berlin to Dresden which is about 2-3 hours away already cost about 90 euros.  From what city will you be your flight from? You may also need to take that into consideration Hope this helps. Enjoy your holiday. ☺

Hi!! We willl have to kill 7 Nights in Berlin on our next trip. I would appreciate any tips please.

Been researching and there seems to be a lot of day trip options from Berlin: Potsdam, Dresden, Leipzig, Goerlitz, Wandermunde etc. Can anyone give me feedback on this?

Also would it be better to spend overnight in Dresden or will a day trip be OK? thanks!

^ You can try the free walking tour in Hamburg, it's a 3 hour tour. They normally meet in front of Starbucks at the town centre. Hamburg is a quaint little town, very picturesque

We actually availed of 3 walking tours during our week in Germany. The most that I enjoyed was the tour we had in Berlin. It was in front of the Brandenburg gate. Madami kasing inclusions and we were able to visit and learn about the touristy places and learn about the history. They give much emphasis during the WW2. But if you're not too keen on walking tours, you can still go to these places. Also try visiting Oranienburg. It's quite far from Berlin but can still be reached by the local metro trains. Although maglalakad ka lang a bit. It was one of the biggest concentration camps in Germany. 

Berlin is big and a bit dirty but it's a fun place to visit. At night, nakakatuwa sya. It looks like bistro after bistro after bistro. If nagutom kayo, walk to the train station, doon namin nakita yung mga bistros hehe. Nakakatuwa din, sa stations nila, as in ku g saan kayo naghihintay ng mga trains, meron silang mga food stalls.  Compared to Paris, their food is quite cheaper.

Your choices are all good, dyan din kami nagpunta, Potsdam and Dresden aside from Hamburg Have fun sis
