Sino po sa inyo ang nakapag-take ng Basic Sewing course sa Fashion Institute of the Philippines? Yung sa main po.
Plan ko po kasi mag-enroll. Marami po akong tanong.
Like ano pong mga kailangan ko pong dalhin sa class every time?
Okay lang po ba mag-aral doon kahit zero knowledge ako sa sewing?
Nagtext ako sa kanila about sa pag-enroll kaya lang sabi nila, "just do the payment. you can enroll anytime"
Ako po ba ang mamimili kung kailan ko gustong mag-start?

I took sewing classes in fip pero sa makati branch. As for things to bring, katsa,thread, zippers (3invisible and 3 ordinary), bobbin case and winder, fabric scissors, measuring tape. And then sa following sessions bring your own fabric para pag tahi mo ng patterns:)

Yes, Ikaw mamimili although may sewing days lang. tapos you have to complete the projects within 6 months.
First day basics Lang muna, how to thread the machine tapos practice on paper, tapos if you get the hang of it sa katsa naman next.

fun siya promise because you'll learn a lot tapos if you want sabay mo na rin pattern making para next time pwede ka na magtahi ng own clothes mo:)

I just started sewing. I've only made 3 projects so far. Nag tahi ako ng maxi skirt tapos sinuot ko na sha kahapon hehe!

I learned sewing techniques when I was young, but as time goes by nakalimutan ko na mga sewing styles. So I opt out na mag browse online ng mga projects and tutorials. Now i am adicted sa mga japanese books na may pattern, pero nihonggo at wala english translation. Madali naman sundan, focus lang kasi nakakalito at first. Ang cute din ng mga d.i.y japanese bags and toys online, gumagawa ko now ng stuff plushie for my baby. :-)

Usually sewing classes 2x-3x a week...but you can go there anytime to finish your projects.max nalang young 6 months:)

Yes sis, nag-ooffer sila ng basic sewing. Hindi ko nga natapos kasi hectic ang sched pero worth it sis.

hi! I'm planning to buy sewing machine sa pier? ok naman kaya mga 2nd hand dun mga sis? how about yung pinaka box nya? kasama na kaya dun or need ko pa pagawaan? and another question is possible kaya na matuto yung 0 knowledge sa makina? Thanks!

^Im not sure kung may kasamang box yung tinda sa pier kasi di pa ako nakabili dun. But may nagtitinda ng ganyan sa mga palenge. Yung mga sidewalk vendor lang, hindi actual shops.

^I'm not that of an expert sa pagpili ng sewing machine (SM). I'm using a portable Brother BM2600 I bought five years ago, and I bought it kasi it's relatively value for money -- around 9K or 10K yata, lotsa of stitches. Come to think of it, hindi ko naman masyadong kelangan yung other stitches, especially yung pang-embroider, but it's good to have, kasi baka kailanganin din later. Okay naman sya, but you have to clean it always; otherwise, nasisira ang tension. I dunno if it's a user problem (read: me and my master of disaster touch, hehe), pero pansin ko talaga na pag hindi ko na-da-dust-off ang loob at labas, nagugulo tension ng SM ko. I've also used my mom's vintage Singer, hindi motorized and with box. It's very good, and it's still working up to now -- lumang-luma na yun kasi sa lola ko yun actually. With proper care, okay sya kasi nga matibay. But limited ang stitch and nakakapagod gamitin, though you can buy a motor for it.

All things considered, I'd recommend a simple portable one for a beginner; both Singer and Brother have such models. May nakita din ako dati sa isang Japanese surplus store sa tapat ng SM Muntinlupa, Jaguar yung brand, utterly cute color -- pink! And it was working fine when I tried it. Didn't buy it though kasi meron na nga akong Brother.

^ thanks sis, try ko visit yung singer dito sa area namin. I have here din old model de padyak then meron motor so pwede na hinde yung padyak, kaya lang parang paling yung pinaka needle, tapos matigas, then kapag ginagamit ko hinde kumakagat yung thread, nahihirapan ako meron din ako from state na portable madami cia stitches kaya lang hinde ko din alam gamitin kaya i decided to buy new one. Sana matuto ako sa TESDA.

depende sayo sis... Kung pang business mo to, yung mga high-speed nalang ang bilhin mo. Huwag kang magportable kasi may limitation ang paggamit dito. Pero kung pang-hobby or mga bet mo yung light fabrics pwede na rin yung portable.

Bumili ako ng Juki mga 17500 yung brand new. May mga sewing machine na magaganda daw sa pier pero dapat marunong kang pumili

^ thanks sunshine but i tried googling it bu wala ako makita, nabalik na nga cia sa storage room, kunin ko cia tomorrow and I'll post the photo. Yung sa singer old model na talaga cia, yung may house cia na may paa na bakal then sa side may spider design. Try ko parin cia pa check sa gumagawa ng SM. Thank you sis. madami kana siguro nagagawa na clothes

@ Janachen : thanks sis, yes baka high speed na nga kunin ko. Naisip ko naman kasi if sa pier wala warranty, then hinde pa ko sanay tumingin.

tama sis, tsaka isa pa pagnasira yung makina for sure naman seserbisyuhan yan ng pinagbilhan mo tsaka madali lang makahanap ng mga parts nya unlike pagka nabili mo sa tabi tabi .

Hi mga sissies! Does anyone know if there's an industrial serger machine that can produce not only overlock stitch but also coverstitches and rolled hem all in one machine? I'm confused kazi if an industrial machine like this even exists. Alam ko meron mga home sergers na kaya ito in just one machine kasi i need industrial
