we will do the tree planting ceremony (sa halip na candle, veil and cords, we will use water, soil, and seedlings na nakalagay sa glass vases)  to symbolize the roots of our relationship, and the continued growth of our love, as we became each other’s family on that day.

This is a very nice alternative, sis! Re: Adult Event only, I really wish na ganito rin maging event namin. Siguro of all things eto lang ang hindi ko pwede insist kay bf kasi yung two Kuyas has their own children. Kaya no choice.

@j.adore: Wedding is in 2014 pa naman. She's not really that untrained naman. With around adults okay sya pero with children not so.

@Anyamcbeal: It feels to be liberated kasi on things na you know naman is acceptable pero not usually in the norms esp sa weddings. And probably this is one of the biggest decisions na kaming dalawa lang talaga ni bf ang involved and no other.  Thank you din sis for sharing unique things on your weddings! :)

ang naging nontraditional nalang namin siguro is yung wala kaming doves saka yung engagement ring ko hinde diamond, hello kitty...  ;D  Tapos yung wedding cake namin, instead na human couple ang topper.. ginawa naming bears.

nakakainggit... naiinggit ako sa inyo kase sinunod nyo mga gusto nyo...from the first day na nagplan kami ng hubby ko ng church wedding lahat ng ideas ko opposite ng gusto nya...like ayaw ko ng wedding cake, instead gusto ko sana ng cheesecakes and pies...ayaw ko din sana sa couple's table kase gusto ko kasama ko sa table yung mga anak ko...pero syempre dami din kontra...

Sorry OT! Just wanted to ask about the rectangular tables, since some of you here prefer that. My caterer and florist also suggested having rectangular tables, but they said that while long tables do look nicer, ROUND tables are better at facilitating conversation.

Which I kinda agree with, because I attended a wedding where the tables were rectangular, and for some reason, I got separated from my friends and I wasn't able to talk to them the whole night. At least during dinner. My fiance and I sat in front of people we didn't know. But I guess if everybody knows everybody at the wedding that shouldn't be a problem. Or should it? Any thoughts?

caterpillar-girl agree with your caterer, the round table facilitates discussion so mas maganda sa mga guests. the rectangular ang hirap makipag-usap, normally katabi mo lang makausap mo. kami ang rectangular lang is head table tapos lahat ng nasa head table nakaharap sa guests.

j.adore and hanson ayaw nga ni hubby ng money dance dahil para ngang nanghihingi ng pera. sa invites nga quiet kami about gifts, even if we live abroad, we didnt say we prefer money. walang preference na gift sa invites.  pumayag na din ako sa nanay ko and i asked the host to explain na lang the tradition of the money dance, na blessings to the couple. tapos dapat sa welcome letter namin we would say 'please bring a small note for the couple's prosperity dance - a Filipino tradition.' ayaw ni hubby isulat so nagulat na lang ang mga foreigner guests. after the wedding pinag-uusapan namin, they thought nga daw small note lang like Php100, nagulat daw sila kase paglapit nila may mga nakasabit na Php1,000. i learned from my dad recently he gave Php1000 bills to my relations para isabit. sabi ko kaya pala ang laki ng nakuha ko baka sa kanya lang galing! kung both pinoy kami, i wouldnt have money dance too. :)

j.adore actually looking back, i might have done the father-daughter dance. i guess moment din ng tatay ang wedding, daddy's girl pa naman ako. :) he's a seaman and recently their ship was here in Ireland, so bonding kami na kaming dalawa lang, dun ko naisip na sana nag father-daughter dance ako.

yes trivia game was about us. :)

hi sis anyamcbeal! :) really nice if you can make your wedding your own. :) i didnt have prenup too. i thought no trial make up din pero at the last minute i decided to have one. i had my trial make up the day before the wedding, sakto for the wedding drinks the night before the wedding.

we won't be buying a new ring para sa wedding. Gagamitin natin yung silver ring na suot namin. Kasi naman if i would analyze everything mas may sentimental value yung ring na suot namin ngayon.
Than buying a new ring tapos ganda lang sa picture etc.

Pero maguusap pa kami mamaya about that.

most of the weddings i attend, they use round tables. i found that no, at least from experience, i still ended up talking to just the ones i know. more than anything, i blame the seating chart. last wedding i attended, i think they grouped us by age, hoping we'd find something to talk about but we didn't. mahirap pa din to reach out to strangers. but i'd trust your caterer because they know more hehe.
i only really like rectangular tables because parang a moveable feast. kababawan lang talaga lahat ng preferences ko. ;D

@caterpillar-girl: Siguro nga for intimate events lang ang rectangular tables which is ganun naman ang mangyayari sa wedding namin. Most of the guests eh magkakakilala talaga. We are planning nga sana na walang seating arrangements pero we'll see. :)

Wow! Very Nice Thread  :)

Basta ang gusto lang namin ni hubby is red and black pero gusto ko fun pa rin sya tignan at hindi gothic :D So what I did, hinaluan ko ng white.

Tagline:
So what I did ulet, I have a tagline "Live Laugh Love" .

Invite:

Bouquet and Boutonniere:
I don't like the usual fresh flower. Di naman ako fresh e. hahahaha! I won my flower sa w@w auction. I so love it :) Tapos pinagawa ko na lang ang boutonniere ni hubby sa kanila.

Shoes:
Hello, red and black ang motiff namin hehe.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/484946_505104032859074_112149471_n.jpg

Wine Toasting:
Dahil we love tanduay ice very much, ito ang ginamit namin sa wine toasting.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/531068_267484200051368_1994232424_n.jpg

Cake Topper:
Hahaha!

https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/72392_164771197010521_698586928_n.jpg

Gowns:
https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/295656_10151341570433583_1177776590_n.jpg

Grand Entrance:
At nakakatuwa dahil lahat sila game.

SDE:
Dinagdag namin to mga 1 month before our wedding.
https://vimeo.com/60915972

Save the date:
I won this on w@w auction din. Yung sweet sweetan. Natutuwa kc ako dahil may story sya.
https://vimeo.com/58377774

Groom and Groomsmen moment:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNeQakd0tOk

Photobooth:
Kahit ilagay mo sa ref hindi sya mag o-occupy ng malaking space :) I cut nila ito tapos mapupunta samin yung right part with their message.

For a change i won't follow them! Cheers ;D

Sis ToughEmpress, I think pwede pa i-prepare saka on the day, just have someone look after them ;)

Sis caterpillar-girl, I think the shape of the table matters with respect to the theme. I think even with round tables, some people do get separated from those they know or don't know anyone at all. It will depend on how well you know your guests and who you would complement them with on seat plan.

i enjoyed browsing www.rebelliousbrides.com. i also love looking at www.stylemepretty.com for rustic wedding details. yung mga madaling i-DIY.

i would love to get ideas and inspiration from this thread. i'm all for nontraditional details. i want people to describe my wedding as cute, unique and cool.

for my music mas type ko indie alternative kesa yung usual na love songs. for my gown, no beadwork on the dress and no veil please. for my shoes, black studded gladiator sandals and they should be flat.

wala pa kong naiisip na motif since mahilig ako sa colors, paiba iba gusto ko. sabagay matagal pa naman. brainstorming stages pa lang. glad to have stumbled upon this thread. :)

Thanks for the comments on the rectangular tables, girls. Another thing about them daw is that they're space savers. Which might be handy for small venues with plenty of guests. Round tables occupy more space. Anyway thanks again and happy preps :)

Una hindi na practical, tapos hindi pa nagiging memorable kasi ho-hum na.Any wedding would be fun if it's not too religious, the ceremony takes too long...etc...etc.

Here in Aussie, your wedding can be as intimate and simple as possible-pwede nga rin non-religious eh.If it's a small wedding-why not do a breakfast ceremony, or a cocktail reception na lang para hindi kailangan sit-down meal.Or if your budget allows it, do a destination wedding-para ma narrow down niyo ang guest list and maeenjoy pa ninyo as newly weds and your guests ang lugar di ba?

I even saw a backyard BBQ and reception.Fun,hindi pa magastos!

As for wedding dresses, depende yan sa inyo kung ano ang theme at feel ng wedding na gusto niyo. Personally I like the simpler the clothes, the better.Think Audrey Hepburn's wedding dress in Funny Face.

Sis Jhellie, I want to see the entrance nyo sana and your entou pero parang nakaprivate ang fb link. Thank you for sharing your ideas! :)
