Dermatologist Guide Thread 13- Dermas pretending to be patients, stay away!

^Hi sis arowen. What is IPL? Is it for acne or pwede rin for scars? Si Dr. Mike kasi ang derma ko before talaga kaso ang layo na niya from when I am staying now so not sure if it's a new procedure.

Sa mga naging patient ni doc martires sa tiendesitas, may nakapagtry na ba ng tca peel and is it effective?

I tried tca peel with doc foronda and super okay naman nag-peel talaga ang glowing. After that, I know the procedure na and nagbasa na rin ako sa net. So I went to this derma mg friend recommended and told her I want to have tca peel. Kaloka, ang careless ng paglagay niya at 1 layer lang. I'm not even sure if she knows about tca or may experience na using it sa patients, but anyway, ayun hindi naman nagpeel. 

So gusto ko lang i-try yung derma sa tiendesita if okay

^kay martires ako lagi nagpupunta dati. Tca peel yung lagi ko pinapagawa noon. Nagpipeel naman pero very light lang.

Hi sisses! Has anyone tried consulting with Doc Mike Chua about acne caused by hormonal imbalance? How was it? [textspeak!] previous derma ko kasi ay parang standard lang ang procedure for all the patients so I am looking for a new derma. TIA!

Patient of Doc Mike for two+ years here! I dont know kung same case tayo but will just share mine with you.

Yung case ko is before/during my period dinadalaw din ako ng pimples ko. Like now, ang dami nanaman. Pero regular cycle ko lagi. What about you? Actually last visit ko lang was last month, I dont know pero these past 3 months kasi, sobrang daming pimples every time na may period ako. nakaka-depressed. Eh dati 5-6 months ako bumabalik kaso ewan ko bat ang dami ngayon. What's your case ba? Irregular cycle mo?

After lurking in reddit/skincareaddiction, I came across this term and swak na swak yung description and symptoms sakin. Breakouts are caused by fungus (eww) na pumapasok sa hair follicles, mostly sa hairline and forehead or kung saan man madaan ang sweat. Madalas mapagkamalang acne vulgaris. Sharing so that sisses who experience breakouts can research about it.

Anyhoo, looking for a really good derma who can treat pityrosporum folliculitis. Yung derma na pang heavy duty talaga. Baka lang may nakaconsult na sa expert ng said condition.

^  I used to have a lot of pimples sa back ko.  My friend who is a PDS derma asked me to take nizoral capsules & use nizoral shampoo as a body wash to clean my back.  Sabi nya since wala naan among acne sa face, most likely fungal young cause lung sa back ko.  Na lessen naman young acne sa back ko.  But what really helped was the regular peeling na pinapagawa ko kay Dra. Martyrs & young glycolic lotion i apply.

Sis, what's your shampoo? Ako sensitive na talaga sa shampoo...i forever used johnson's baby shampoo just this august i switched to herbal essences my mistake nagstart as small bumps sa hairline, forehead and then naging acne na and nagstart magspread last oct. Pano yung symptoms mo? Late ko narealize na shampoo ko nga pala super mabango so mga 2 weeks ago ko lang sya nastop iuse.  Kasi ang weird first time ko tinubuan ng madaming cystic acne sa neck ewwwww e layered kasi hair ko so tumatama ends ng layers ko dun nagkaron ng marami sa neck part din

Went to dr nelson lee yesterday, and he gave me topical meds sabi nya basta daw masipag ako mag pahid gagaling daw agad, my acne consists of whiteheads and cystic and meron akong super laki sabi nya lilit daw yun. (The one who referred me to him, had a big pimple na red talaga last monday tapos when i saw her ng thur ang liit na!)...my follow up is after a month na tapos after 2 weeks nya pa ako pinabalik for cleaning, sabi ko pwede bako magpajetpeel kahapon ayaw nya hehe..... Went to 2 dermas na who wanted me on roaccutane for my case and ayoko magtake nun.....pero sa kanya topical lang kaya na daw in a month and sabi nya in 2 months daw hindi nako tutubuan as long as masipag daw ako sa regimen nya....i'm so excited kaya last night i super slathered on all his meds makapal na version and mega tapat sa electric fan *feeling super hopeful* and what's wonderful about him pwede powders and foundations gamitin sa meds nya kaya super ok

so,, ok na skin ko.. when i went to my derma, she said alisin daw namin yung vein sa cheeks ko, meron kasi akong veins sa cheeks but i am no bothered with it.. sabi ko na lang ayoko and ang gusto ko is magkaron ng glow sa face.. biglang sabi nya, kelangan daw alisin yung vein para magka glow.. biglang yun na ang ginawa nyang reason para lang sumunod ako sa gusto nya.. pang asar lang.. dahil jan maghahanap na lang ako ng ibang derma ulit..

I agree with your earlier comment on Dra. Martires. It seems na she's always rushing. That and she keeps letting her kid go in and out of the room while I'm inside is what really turned me off. Eh may pinapa-check pa naman ako sa kanya malapit sa boob area. Nakakainis lang.

Si Doc Sixta Foronda, sis. I know nag lalagay siya ng fillers. Meron kasi silang stock sa clinics nila ng mga fillers eh, lagi ko nakikita. :-)

Diba fillers are temporary lang?  Hindi kaya ng fractional co2 your scars?

And parang tca peel is no longer used that much just to have that glowing skin or to even minimize pores.  There are fractional co2 lasers, revlite laser therapy and gentlemax laser toning available in the market.

Hi girls! I'm planning to get treatment for my acne this Saturday. So far, Dr. Chua and 6F are my choices. I've heard nasa 4-5k ang first visit kay Dr. Chua tapos pwedeng CC, alam nyo ba kung how much kay Dra.6F?

honeybunny, I'm also interested to know your current dermatologist?  I'm a former Dr. Martires patient, gumanda naman skin ko, maintenance lang kelangan which di ko nagawa kasi hindi accessible clinic nya when commuting.

^kay dra. Cherrie Rose Salipsip ako sa medical city. Ok naman hindi na ako nagbebreak out even pag malapit na period ko. Also nag collagen powder din ako and i noticed it helped din sa break outs ko.

So i dont know if collagen yung nagpagaling sa pimples ko or yung gamot ni Salipsip or combination of both.

Yes, temporary lang ang fillers like maybe motnhs to a year. Can't do fractional co2 for now because of the downtime na sobrang tagal. Hindi naman ako pwede mag-leave from work for two weeks

Meron bang laser for scars na maikli lang ang downtime? Actually nabasa ko sa isang thread din dito about Intracel. Laser rin pero short downtime lang. I think bago lang yun.

I go to SCS for my scars. Usually if may event ako I always request then to lower the power para walang downtime. So far maganda yon results sa akin. I just follow the regimen they give me. Madami na ako na refer sa kanila lahat happy naman. They are dermatologist na accredited ng phil derm society. Kaya they are all very good.  Pati mga sick diseases  kaya nila pagalingin. I'm very happy with them.
