Tagaytay (Thread 9)

One thing lang ang medyo off sa kin is the street noise. Dinig na dinig mo yung mga sasakyan sa labas probably because of the location of our room na street level.

naku! malaking no-no sa akin yan! dream accommodation ko pa naman sa Tagaytay ang Discovery Suites. i would think na for the price that you paid (their suites are very expensive), eh walang ganyang annoyance. gusto ko pa naman ay tahimik na accommodation.

i remember when i stayed at The Boutique, kahit anong ganda at linis ng room, the walls were so thin that i could hear the people from the other room. i hated it so much that i checked out the following day and switched hotels. and yes, tama yung isang sis natin dito, sobrang liit ng balcony sa Boutique and it's over the cafe so kita ka ng diners sa ibaba!

Lagi kami dito nung February. Every week bumibisita ako ng Pink Sisters then breakfast at Mushroom burger. =)

excited na ko we'll be celebrating our 3rd anniversary. we booked sa one tagaytay. any recommendations for dinner?

michipoo, Wingate Manor is a fairly new hotel. Off the main highway siya kaya hindi maingay. Careful lang when you drive the road going there kasi may portion na parang nawawala yung daan kasi pababa siya. Hehe. The rooms are spacious enough. Beds are firm at malinis ang amoy ng pillows. Yung bath towels lang hindi ganun ka-lambot when we stayed there. They have a rainy day promo- 2,999 for a room with breakfast and massage. Yun ang kinuha namin last year. Whole body massage yun for 1 hour but I only availed foot massage that time and gave my other 30 minutes to my fiance kaya 1.5 hours ang body massage nya. The breakfast buffet is ok- lutong bahay pero masarap.

anniegurl, I suggest you have dinner at Verbena Restaurant sa Discovery Country Suites. The place is homey but very romantic. For appetizer, try the Organic Mozzarella Cheese Pot- served fondue style with spiced tomato, herbs and Focaccia bread. Super sarap! I think it is P395, good for two already. They also have Risotto- masarap din lalo na if you like that strong lasa. They also have steak that are good for sharing na.

^If you're having dinner at Verbena, Starbucks is just next door. Bagong tayo lang yung Starbucks dun. Suggest ko lang when you park at Verbena, leave your car there and walk to Starbucks na lang kasi ang tarik lang naman ng driveway ng Starbucks. Andaming hirap na kotse going back up the road.

Wingate is located inside a residential area kaya you have to go out of that road if you're dining out. Paglabas nyo naman ng road na yun, andun na malapit ang The Cliffhouse.

Planning to spend our anniversary sa Tagaytay. I'd like to get your suggestions regarding sa accommodation, preferably reasonably-priced (3D2N stay) with spa facility and near some tourist attractions.

kaya ba na day tour lang ang tagaytay? what's your recommended itinerary. with kids age 2 to 8 years old. o dapat talaga mag overnight stay?

i was kinda disappointed with one tagaytay maybe because I have high expecttions of the hotel. I liked Lee boutique better

^ yeah, super liit ng rooms ng OTP yung pinaka standard nila e talagang maliit lang..okay lang pumunta dun kase may rowena's nearby =)

I have a question about Taal Vista rooms. May coupon kasi ako from Deal Grocer and I can book a deluxe room in any part of the hotel. I am torn between the Deluxe Ridge (below the view deck) and Lake Wing (new wing). While the deluxe ridge would be bigger (38sqm to lake's 30sqm) and has its own veranda, baka mas ok pa rin yung amenities sa Lake Wing dahil new... so ayun. Has anyone experience staying in the deluxe ridge na? has it been renovated na or super luma talaga? i dont mind not having a lake view as long as maganda yung mismong room (no aircon or bathroom issues especially). TIA!

I enjoyed our stay at wingate manor malapit lang siya sa leslies pancake house and starbucks. Wala nga lang view sa hotel pero okay ang room at facilities yun nga lang hindi ako nag enjoy sa massage, maybe di lang magaling yung nag massage sakin.

msals2007: yes sis, kaya naman day tour sa tagaytay, depending on how long you will stay in one place.  ang famous attraction is picnic grove and sky ranch which i think your kids will enjoy.  coming from rotonda, picnic grove and people's park is on the way to the left while sky ranch is on the way to the right. so depende rin kung san kayo manggaling kung ano [textspeak!] nyong unahin.  pag sta. rosa kayo galing, best na unahin ang sky ranch then picnic grove tas balik na lang ng sta. rosa.

bb: if galing ka ng bulacan, i think may mga buses na going to batangas sa may cubao.  ang alam ko lang kasi yung mga bandang south like in pasay and alabang.  may mga buses and van dun byaheng batangas and dumadaan ng tagaytay.
