Pitch Perfect- 5/10 Cute, the acapellas were entertaining. The cup song is becoming over rated though.

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close- 6/10 The boy clearly is not normal, like he has Asperger's Syndrome although in the movie it was mentioned that it was definitive. Grabe lang ang effort niya. I don't get why it was quite big during the previous Oscar's.

Just watched Gekijō-ban HUNTER×HUNTER Hiiro no Genei -Fantomu Rūju- or better known as HUNTER×HUNTER Phantom Rouge at SM Megamall.

I'm a huge fan of the 1999 Nippon Animation version of HUNTER×HUNTER, but not the reboot made by Madhouse, which, by the way, was an utter disappointment. This film is also produced by Madhouse, but I gave it a shot because the movie revolves around Kurapika, my favorite character, and it tackles more about the Kuruta clan, which piqued my interest because not much is revealed about the tribe - other than they got massacred by Genei Ryodan for their scarlet eyes. Also, a new character, Omokage, is introduced and his connection to Genei Ryodan and Kuruta clan is explored in this film.

Anyway, as a faithful follower of HUNTER×HUNTER, I wasn't pleased as to how Madhouse interpreted the plot. No matter how much I try to be impartial, I always find myself comparing it to the 1999 version, and how it would have been given justice if it had been Nippon Animation producing this than Madhouse. As much as I badly want other people to love and learn more about the anime that I emotionally attached to since childhood, I just can't fool myself that I enjoyed this film when in fact, I was cringing the entire time (and that's not just because I'm already grown up).

My geeky blood raised. So many things to say but I'd rather not so as not to spoil. JJ Abrams has been doing well with all his Trekkie movies. I always end up comparing the technology during this time and the technology in Star Trek TNG and Voyager.
