According to conventional investing wisdom, no it would not
be ok. 1-2 years is too short of a time frame for an equity fund.

On the other hand, it might be ok so if you "feel" you can
gamble your money away go ahead hehe

Ako rin dati, I placed some of the money allocated for the
taxes and fees on the property I was going to purchase in
a year in an equity fund. Bull market pa nun at always going
up ang NAV so oks lang.

Hi mga sis..haven't tried investing before..pero parang gusto ko I try yung PFIF.. ang worry ko lang is baka maging loss ang output..pero no one can tell naman [textspeak!]..

Well, if you follow BDO's recommended investing time frame you should be
good.

The biggest lost taken by the fund was recovered in less than 3 months.

^---Yes, BDO is still offering this. Kamusta? I don't know how to answer.  Parang it's complicated? 
 Maalon ang market.  Taas-Baba.  Kaya iyon, ganun din ito. 

The same goes for Bond Funds under BDO.  Dahil maraming pera ang tao, maliit ang interest ng pautang.  But it's not true if you would jump over at FAMI.  Their Fix Income Fund is earning a whopping 20+% YoY.

sis ganyan din ako hindi ko kinukuha cop ko kase plan ko ma-reach ang 100K saka ko kunin cop.. My thinking kase para masmababa ang average kapag redeem ko na siya para derecho lang peso-cost averaging ko :-) Kase if kunin mo agad cop po mo don compute ang units meron ka so if mababa ok din kase malaki units na nabili mo but if medyo mataas ang NAVPU medyo konte units meron ka, so I stick sa average and hopefully after ko ma-reach 100K eh maganda na earnings ko :-)

Hope I made sense... May mga sis tayo dito na experts so I hope they could give us pointers pa :-)

^sis i think kaye19 is only asking about the certificate itself and not necessarily she will redeem her investment. so yes, ok lang hindi kunin agad kasi the bank will keep it lang naman there. wag mo lang sigurong paabutin ng taon baka makalimiutan mo na rin hehe.

The longest I left my COP with the branch was 6 months I think.
I don't think its a big deal for them kasi they also keep the blue
copy in their archives. What's one more white copy dba?

Okay lang Sis na hindi kinukuha ang COP sa bank mo. Iyong COP nga namin para sa EPCIB UITF 'pag uuwi lang kami sa 'Pinas saka lang namin kukunin.

Actually I've never seen in my very own eyes what the COP looks like. The time na nag apply kami ng BDO UITF is 2 days before our flight back to Doha.

Hi sis ask ko lang, if you invest 10k on EIP does it mean na hindi na nila mababawasan yung investment? I have read na if u start from 1k, there will be chances na minsan mataas ang dagdag minsan babawasan depends on our market, and someone said pag u already reached 10k and continues lang yung investment OR derecho 10k ang nilagay so para may COP agad eh hinde na mababawasan? Naguguluhan ako, pasensya na mga sis di kase ako familiar sa mga ganto

^---face value doesn't matter.  it all boils down on how many units/shares your 10k is.  it's also printed on your CoP.

use that as your basis to compute the value of your investment.  just multiply it to the NAVPU of the day and you'll have your value.

it might be that at the time your CoP was released, that NAVPU is high and you only manage to buy x amount of units/shares.  then after a day or two, NAVPU value dropped 2%, then your CoP no longer amounts to 10k.  It might now be lower.

I'm not too concerned with pagbabago ng market. I don't intend to use this fund naman within 5 years eh. Willing ako mag-antay ng next bull run.

I invested in their Equity fund.

hi. nag-start kami nito nung june 2013 at 2k per month na kaltas. supposedly, nabuo namin ang 10k nung october. we weren't able to get our CoP kasi hindi pa siya available until this Monday, yung empleyado ng bank ininform kami na available na ang CoP pero 12k ang nakalagay. sabi niya, ok lang naman daw yun kasi mababa naman daw ngayon ang market. ok nga lang ba yun? may effect except sa madadagdagan ng 1 month bago namin mabuo yung next 10k? thanks!
