Learning, Playing, Having fun with toddler

Hello mga moms!
My little tot has just turned 23months old. She already can count 1-10, and she already can identify the numbers 1-10 as well as most of the alphabets 23 letters na kilala nya. She learned them while we play around the flash cards and magnetic pad!!! Highly recommend ko these 2 toys. Inexpensive but they truly are helpful.

Then mga sis, may ma recommend ba kayong video - sa youtube or dvd etc ng dance number na pweding ituro kay tot girl ko? Ang hilig kasi gumaya sa commercials kaso usually they are stamping jumping turning around then split. Gusto ko sana yung pang toddler [textspeak!] na dance. Hmmm.

She dances the gangnam, now the hatlem and the palmolive no comb revo commercial.

Pls share hear also how you teach your child while having fun and no stress to him/ her.

The Wiggles.Age appropriate mga songs,look for "shimmy Shake".If you can find Justine Clarke's DVDs/CDs,she's good also-my daughter loves her CD SONGS TO MAKE YOU SMILE- "DInosaur Roar","Jelly Jelly Jelly" etc.I'm in Australia and yun ang nakahiligan niya. I also used flash cards/picture books to help her talk.I read to her in the afternoons,at bed time and she loves going to the library

I don't play current pop music for her-mabilis mawala sa uso. I make her listen to jazz,even the instrumental ones, classical for when she feels like doing "ballet" ( her fave currently is the Nutcracker Suite by Tchaikovsky).She listens what we listen to,basically.Now she doesn't need TV to appreciate the music.I feel that too much TV will dull her eh.Opinion ko lang.

My daughter is turning 14 months old and I've been reading up on sensory play. Why not read up on that too sis, it will be more educational than teaching your daughter dance moves. It's also inexpensive using things around the home or re-using existing toys in new ways.

^Make it fun sis, gawin mong may games. Nung una, deadma din yung daughter ko sa flash cards. Eh pano din naman kase super plain lang yung binili namin nung una Pero mga kung ano-ano naisip ko like gawin treasure hunt, put pictures corresponding to the number/letter tapos pag animal yung nakalagay I make the animal sound. Minsan mukha na kong loka-loka pero effective naman sa daughter ko.

She learned how to count from 1-10 just a few months before she turned 2 years old. Nag-start lang kame paulit-ulit na nagccount tapos we sing while counting.

Kiddie schools are effective too sis. Minsan kase mas ok pag may ibang kids syang kasabay

My daughter just turned 2. She knows the abc's, counting 1-15, marami na ring nursery rhymes na alam kantahin like incy wincy spider, happy birthday, old mcdonalds, twinkle twinkle and a lot more. She loves to watch shrek, toy story and animals. I used flashcards app ng ipad kase mas interesado sha kesa sa flash card na tunay.
We dance and sing together. We play a lot. I dont want to force her to study if shes not in the mood. Pag nasa mood naman sha, isang turo ko lang sa sight words alam na nya agad. She knows all the colors na rin. She know how to go up and down the stairs (12 steps) . She loves to draw. Im proud of her kase not every child on her age can do a lot.

baby ko hindi talaga nagfofocus sa akin. 13 months na sya. he just learned how to turn page of his board books tapos magmumurmur na as if he is reading the book. pero pag tinuturuan ko na, wala syang pasensya. parang mas gusto nya to learn on his own.

^I agree! When we went to the Philippines kahit 3 weeks lang,we let my daughter join in Gymboree.She enjoys music "classes" kaso kung hindi sanay sa mga songs ng Gymboree hindi mag-eenjoy yung bata,medyo nung una parang hesitant baby ko kasi hindi niya kilala yung songs.Pero in the end she enjoyed it naman.Now we're back here in Perth she will join Kindermusik starting May 6.

@princessrio: ganyan naman talaga start.I would suggest you read to your child a story book before his afternoon nap or before night bedtime. Yun ang pinaka receptive times eh.I first started my daughter with the Very Hungry Caterpillar. Kahit hindi naiintindihan o kahit hindi pa receptive, kalaunan makakasanayan niya na may book,so magiging interesado na siya with words and pictures and that they mean something.

Also, the flash cards I used are touch and feel type. Malalaki, parang board book type,sobrang colorful and sturdy and dun nag-start ag acceptance niya with flash cards.There are ebook flash cards  after that and mas receptive na siya nun.I also made it into a game. If she gets it right, I let her keep the card.Pag hindi, I put it back in the box.Then repeat.And repeat! from zero words biglang naging 30 + words na nasasabi.

I'm a nurse, and part of our pediatric course was the development of kids.Hindi naman pare pareho ang learning ng bata,some do learn faster but then again, it isn't a race or a contest. Nakakainis lang na nagiging ganun na ngayon. I have 2 kids 9 years apart and they are on the opposite sides of the learning spectrums-the eldest didn't really need a lot of effort, and my youngest now does. What I learned from them? Just genuinely enjoy playing with your child, that's the key-eventually he/she will learn by leaps and bounds!

Thanks sis sa mga ideas. Gusto ni kiddo ang hi-5, we have 2 dvds. Paulit ulit play lalo kapag papakainin sya. Will try harder for her to like books.

^timing is everything! and maybe you can start her on "interactive" books, like The Very Hungry Caterpillar, it's a classic and hindi nawawala ang charm for kids (at least the toddler/preschool age).

My 2.7 yrs old son knows the abc, number, shapes, colors, animals & animal sounds, phonics, nursery rhymes, body parts etc... yung nga lang bulol pa siya pero ok nah din kasi dami niyang alam.. galing ng photo memory niya and his imagination too..  example pagpapatungin niya yung dalawang blocks tapos cake na daw yun.. haha.. mahilig siyang manood ng video like barney, thomas, mickey, elmo etc.. kaya naman bigla mo nalang siyang maririnig na "oh look, sabay turo sa nakita niya example chicken" "i know" "we'll see" (sabay hawak pa sa chin niya), "what's that?"..

nasanay kasi siya sakin sa flash cards (actually ginagawa ko nagsasave ako ng photos sa phone ko).. ulit2x yun.. tiyaga lang talaga.. minsan kasi di nakikinig and nglalaro lang.. tapos sa color & shapes naman games namin sa bahay is "find a.." example "find a square.." so maghahanap siya ng square nah bagay like pillow, book.. nakakatawa pati tiles ng floor itturo niya.. so dun niya namemorize yung colors and shape.. yung alphabet naman meron siyang chart kaya ulit2x din...Meron din akong apps sa phone and i-pad.. so palit2x yung tools ko to teach him para di siya magsawa.. napansin ko kasi dali niyang magsawa eh..

sobrang animated din ako pag nagtuturo.. sa animals & animal sound talagang with action and sound effect para maaliw din siya.. napapansin ko kasi madali siyang mabored kaya ginagawa ko more fun yung learning nya.. talagang sing & dance din ako.. tapos bawat makita kong bagay ituturo ko sa kanya, example this is pillow, that is tree etc...

in his age alam ko medyo advance na yung learning stage niya.. yun nga lang ang problem ko is his speech kasi nga bulol pa.. kaya ginagawa ko pag may bulol siyang nasasabi ico-correct ko tipong babaybaying ko like "a-pol" "ba-na-na".. I tried ipasok siya sa playschool kaso after a month tinigil ko kasi natuto siyang magtantrums kasi nakikita niya sa ibang kids.. siguro pag reach nalang niya ng 3 years old.. ayoko kasing pwersahin siya sa school kasi baka magsawa eh.. maswerte naman ako sa yaya niya kasi nga matiyaga din magturo..

I believe naman kasi na dapat learning is fun.. siyempre bata sila and tendency is laro ang nasa isip nila.. so ako pinag mimix ko para sumunod sakin.. and malaking tulong kung animated tayong mga mommy sa pagtuturo .. tsaka tiyaga lang talaga.. basta ang important tuloy2x ang communication kay baby..

Wow tyaga talaga. And it becomes easier kasi love natin ang kids. Si daughter ko super hilig sumayaw. Mga tv commercials indak sya ikot jump shake. Sana nga ay mga schools songs na with actions nalang.

Meron kaming cd ng mga nursery action songs ba may mga kids sumasayaw kaya lang hindi naman familiar songs mostly. Meron ba kau alam na ibang cd? Gusto ko live kids or adults, or mascots, not cartoons ang sumasayaw.

^The Wiggles sis.Or Hi-5 . Nawala na hilig ng 26 month old ko for them but they were good to start with.Now she can enjoy the songs minus TV, we just play normal songs in the CD and ok na, siya na mismo gumagawa actions
