for now, the only cost-cutting measures na nagagawa namin is the use of led lights, plus i told the helpers na pag nagsaing sila sa morning eh isama na pati rice nila for lunch, since they're using the rice cooker, para di na magsaing ulit, sila lang naman kumakain ng lunch..our bill reaches more than 5k a month for a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) plus 2 helpers  ..kasi naman we're using 2 aircons ng sabay in separate rooms,  basta natulog kids ko kahit malamig ang weather naka-on pa din kasi mas mahimbing tulog nila, usually at least 8 hours/day yan..

LED lights. Invest sa inverter a/c and ref. Appliances na pinakamalakas ang consumption.  We don't use a rice cooker too. Parang iron sa lakas sa kuryente ang rice cooker. Unplug appliances if not in use. Habit na auto pagpatay ng ilaw and unplug ng appliances pagalis ng kuwarto.

Thanks for the tip, sis! Ine-encourage ko na sila sa bahay na wag manood ng tv or mag-computer before 9pm. Haha mejo mahirap kasi both my parents stay at home the whole day almost every day. Btw, til what time na cheaper ang generation charges?

My husband changed all lightings to LED lights. We also use motion sensor lights tapos yung A/C sa entertainment room lang meron. Dati kasi umaabot ng 10k ang bill namin, considering na 2 lang kami sa house.

try this (and i'm gonna try this when we transfer next month in our own space, yey!) defrost niyo ref habang nagpplantsa. that's what my mom does. let me know if you've tried this

All our lights are LED, our aircons and 11 cubic feet ref are inverter.  If there was a way to minimize electricity for ironing maybe we wouldve done it too

i have a window type aircon before and our electric bill nasa p1800-2300 a month then nung nasira yung ac namin nagpalit ako ng split type inverter aircon. now our electric bill is P600 na lang per month. 3 months consistent nasa p500-600 lang ang bill namin every night naka on ang ac halos 6hrs. minsan pati sa hapon pag mainit.

pag nasira yung ref namin papalitan ko na rin ng inverter na ref baka maging p300 na ang meralco bill namin. hehe!

also pag walang tao sa area patayin ang ilaw and yung mga nakasaksak bunutin kung hindi naman ginagamit. ako kasi naka bunot lahat except ref pag walang tao sa bahay nag co-consume pa rin kasi ng electricity yung mga nakasaksak kahit naka off.

We do unplug our appliances when not in use. Nag coconsume parin kasi ng kuryente kahit nakaoff tapos nakaplug.

kaya ata lumaki bill namin last time kasi naiiwang naka off yung A/C pero di sya nakaunplug. ngayon may habit na kami na ibaba ang breaker ng a/c when not in use (mataas kasi yung saksakan) so hindi ko abot at hassle tumuntong sa kung saan. sana naman bumaba na kuryente namin. pati sa other appliances (except ref) ugali ko talagang tanggalin yung plugs when not in use ultimo ilaw

eto ang project ko ngayon. ang mahal kasi ng electric bill namin. kakabili ko lang ng inverter na ref. half month use, may 300 nang nabawas sa bill. next naman na bibilhin ko e inverter na aircon. tapos LED tv kasi LCD pa yun amin. then mga ilaw naman. haay sana talaga bumaba ang bill hehe.

nakakalungkot kapag mataas ang bill mo sa kuryente. you could've used the money for something else. does anybody know a solar powered ac? how much and how exactly it works. naka 24 hours kasi ac namin because of my baby boy. sobrang pawisin sya, nakaawa kapag pinapatay ang ac.

(1) Bought split type inverter AC -- Laking tipid since we got rid of our old window type AC. Hindi ako mabubuhay nang walang aircon, kaya halos buong araw naka-on pag nasa bahay kami.

(2) Changed lights to LED -- I guess naka-contribute din ng pagbaba ng kuryente namin, bukod sa pagpalit to LED, na hindi rin ako halos nag-iilaw sa bahay because of my migraine. The darker, the better for me. :-D

(3) Got a no-frost inverter refrigerator -- Mas mababa konsumo nito than our last one.

(4) TV off -- Since I like it dark & quiet in the house, I hardly turn on the TVs in our house. Nanonood lang ako pag kasama ko si husband ko. Otherwise sa phone or tablet na lang ako nanonood.

(5) No radios -- I have Spotify for music on my phone.

Next project namin palitan ang washing machine to inverter type na rin.

- we switched to laptop from desktop. i think mas matipid at minimalist pa kapag laptop. ang desktop dapat nakasaksak palagi or else hindi mo magagamit kahit minsan naiiwan mo sya  every now and then. e ang laptop kapag full charge na ang battery aalisin mo na ang plug or else masisira battery ng laptop mo. so sa tingin ko mas matipid ang laptop kesa sa desktop.


- we don't use rice cooker...ginagamit lang namin sya kapag may special occasion.


- lahat led mapa tv o light bulb


- we buy electric fans of good quality kahit mas mahal kasi mas maganda performance kesa sa mga mura o buy one take one pero napakahina ng hangin at madaling masira

-pinaplantsa lang ang lukutin na damit kasi ang mga cotton tiklupin lang ng maayos o kaya naka hanger na lang sya from sampayan to closet e pwede ng hindi plantsahin.


- i agree the structure of the house helps in saving electricity kahit maliit lang house namin high ceiling sya kaya maaliwalas ang feel at maraming windows kaya hindi kami gumagamit ng ilaw hanggang may liwanag sa kalangitan (lalim ng tagalog hehe)...kaya sa gabi lang talaga ang gamit namin ng ilaw.


share ko lang opinion ko pagdating sa kuryente...for a tropical country like ours we should be switching to solar energy  kaso  hindi ipupush ng government yan kasi malulugi na meralco kapag ginawa yon...pero sayang di ba ang init natin sa pilipinas sana nagagamit na lang para sa kapakinabangan ng buong bansa. and to add to that eto nabasa ko sa news ng rappler . Robinson's Place and Gaisano Mall in Iloilo city have already switched to solar energy to contribute to cutting carbon emissions.  wish ko lang buong bansa na lang naka solar energy na.

The only thing really energy saving I've done recently was buy an inverter ref. Nakakatipid nga ako! I used to have an old ref na hindi ko pinapalitan kasi ang tipid sa kuryente...well, mas matipid pa pala yung new ref. It's a bigger ref pa than the old one, so upgrade talaga. Gusto ko tuloy pati yung aircon inverter na rin sana, hehe.
