minimize use of microwave oven

use fabric conditioner, i hanger ang damit pagkabanlaw and let it air dry.

We only iron yung sobrang gusot na damit like mga cotton.

Use manipis na curtains during summer

about sa power saving device, meron ako relative na may power saving device, wala naman kwenta 2-3k paden electricity. di naman sila masyado tv, sa night lang. di ren masyado ac. nasa office naman maghapon lahat ng tao, 1 lang naiiwan sa bahay pero same paden bill nila nun wala pa sila device. theory is baka grounded. sabi ni hubby pag ganun pwede daw mag cause ng pagtaas ng consumption, so baka nga.

1. minimize laundry (shower before matulog para pantulog for 3 nights na)
2. no ironing of clothes, choose clothes na pwede no ironing kahit pang-office (if wala naman uniform).
3. lights off pag matutulog na (buti may katabi nako, si hubby, di pwede saken to nun single pa ko, scary)
3. unplug appliances before umalis ng bahay and not in use.
4. check door ng ref before umalis (lalo na if papunta office or matagal mawawala ng bahay). one time kase di namen napansin naiwan pala slightly bukas, pag-uwi namen di totally close yun ref door, ayun sayang kuryente.
5. natural lights lang sa morning since we have 2 big/wide windows and glass door
6. we cook sa rice cooker for 2-3 days para pwede i-microwave nalang yun rice na baon sa office
7. if kaya fan lang, wag na mag ac. for me, di talaga ko pumayag na magkaroon ng ac (since lamigin talaga ko since birth) kaya kahit summer fan lang kame, tinitiis ko talaga yun init.
8. make ice and during weekends nasa table lang yun cooler with ice maghapon para di bukas ng bukas ref para lang sa water
9. use stove using lpg than electric stove
10. if using the computer, turn off the tv (vice versa). can't serve 2 masters at the same time. we usually watch cable channels and meron naman weekdays and repeat sa weekends nun episode so we just choose.

Malakas kasi talaga sa kuryente pag ganitong month from march to may..

for now..eto muna ginagawa namin ni hubby to save electric energy..

And pano yung ENERGY OPTIMIZER FILM?

Sis, are you sure it's more effective kung on-off ang AC?

Siguro yan na yung pinakamababa, depending on the type of AC.

So let's say 5/hr lang ang sayo. And you use it 10hrs a day. So, Fifty pesos na yun. And kunwari you'll just use it for 20 days. P1000.

Parang masyado paring malaki ang bill mo. Maybe you use the AC more than 10hrs?

1. We bought a LOT of plants then nilalagay namin kung saan pwede.

2. Less appliances. Inalis namin yung mga di naman talaga kailangan, and we rarely run the motor pump. We rarely turn on the lights pag araw. Less appliances running = Less heat = Less electricity.

3. Pinalaki namin yung bintana namin sa kwarto. Sakop nung bintana almost 1/2 ng isang wall namin.

4. Fabric conditioner. Wala nang plantsa-plantsa sa pambahay.

5. Changed from desktop to laptop

6. We shaded all of our air conditioners and applied insulators. We clean the filter regularly. The more heated the A/C is, the more energy it consumes.

-----------------------------

Anyway, just sharing my knowledge about power-saving devices:

This doesn't save you 40 or 50% as advertised, and how much it can save will only depend on how poor yung wiring ng bahay nyo. Kung maganda ang wiring sa bahay nyo AND if you don't use ALL of your inductive loads (these are some appliances such as air conditioners, motors, washing machine, dryers, refrigerators, etc) 24/7, this is very, very useless and can be dangerous.

(For those na hindi nag-aral ng electric circuits, medyo nosebleed na ang susunod na paragraph, sorry pero hindi ko na talaga maexplain to in layman's term... I think someone else can explain  this better T_T)

Power-saving devices simply increases the "power factor" (maximum is 1, good-built houses can have a PF of 0.9 or 0.95 average). Power-saving devices are simply capacitors which can cancel out inductive reactance due to poor wiring and/or usage of inductive loads... Basta hirap i-explain, pero one thing is for sure -- hindi basta-basta lumalatag ng wiring ang mga electricians to make it so poor to need these, Meralco doesn't charge us based on kVA or kVAR, but in kWh... And you can't simply play with reactance as if you're just playing Lego Blocks. >_<

Also, the hotter the surroundings, and the lower the temperature of the compressor, the more energy the A/C consumes. Same for refrigerators. You can use ceiling fans kung mainit talaga. ;)

1. Unplug all appliances not in use.

2. Yung fridge pag konti lang laman naka-#1 setting lang.

3. I don't use a rice cooker. Sa gas stove ako nagsasaing. Pero lilipat na ako to a new place and bawal magluto with LPG :( Mas matipid ba ang induction stove kaysa electric. I'm also seeing a ceramic stove in stores. Which is the most energy efficient?

4. Pag naka-idle lang yung laptop like when downloading, pinapatay ko yung screen.

5. I turn off unneeded gadgets at night/when not using, such as my iPod, wifi modem. Para di charge ng charge.

6. Weekly magplantsa.

7. I turn off the lights when watching tv. I also switched to energy-saving bulbs. Sa hallway low-wattage bulb lang ang gamit (5W).

8. I don't use a/c kasi lamigin ako. I do have a fan with cooling mist pero summer ko lang ginagamit yung mist function. Pag malamig/maulan I use the lowest setting or even turn the fan off. If you can do this in your homes, pakabitan niyo ng screen yung windows para pwede buksan to let the breeze in.

Anything more heat-inducing or works depending on the heat is the least energy efficient, hence the induction cooker is the most efficient. But since this works with magnetic fields and such, hanggang metal pans ka lang talaga at hindi ka pwede gumamit ng aluminum foil.

Hope this helps :D

I live alone at dati ang kuryente ko 1300, then last month di ko na sinaksak ang ref dahil madalas wala naman laman, tapos naging 400 nalang bill ko. :)

sis, hmmmm.. baka nga tama ang father mo na mas malakas sa kuryente pag on-off ang AC.. i really don't know.

so too much pa rin yung P2,500-P2,800 electricity per month kasi aside sa AC ang major appliance ko lang naman ay small old TV (na mahina naman sa kuryente), personal ref (as in yung pinakamaliit, so mahina din sa kuryente) at microwave na ginagamit ko lang pag dinnertime...

sis, i asked my dad, yung lumang CRT TV ko mahina naman daw sa kuryente yun kasi maliit lang.

Yes, turning on-and-off your aircon eventually mas magastos, as it takes more effort for the ac to bring the temp down again. Better if you can just lower the thermostat, and have a high EER rated one.

Yung ref mo ba is no-frost?

In monitoring your monthly electrical expense, it's much more advisable to list down your kw usage rather than the price, because of electrical rate fluctuation.

^Sis, what do you mean halfday lang ang ref niyo? You mean, tinatanggal niyo sa saksakan kapag wala nasa work kayo?  :o
OMG sis, SUPER gastos niyan sa kuryente! Huwag niyong tanggalin sa saksakan unless na matagal kayong aalis ng bahay, like a month kayong nasa bakasyon... Pero if everyday niyo ginagamit, let it be...

yes that was last month of experimentation with no movement in bill kaya di ko  na tinatanggal, pag nag-brownout nalang tsaka ko hinuhugot.

By the way ang water bill namin ay minimum lang palagi pero mahal ang minimum sa amin P265, do you think mas makakamura ako if mag-jet matic nalang ako

Jet matic, yung water pump?
Sis, mahal kasi magpa-drill. May family friend kami na nagwater pump nalang, at sabi nila mas nakamura daw sila kesa laging may bill every month. Malaki family nila, kaya I think malaki bill.

Lol. P125 lang sa amin eh.

Pinakamagandang ginawa namin is to switch all our aircons to the Panasonic inverter aircon. Super mahal lang sa simula, but it cut our electric bills in almost half. Background lang: there are about 15 people in our house, 2 families kasi e, including na helpers. 5 rooms with 5 aircon. Tapos we use them basically at night lang kasi most of us work. 3 lang ang kids. Pag super mainit hapon palang bukas na. Ubod ng mahal ng electricity namin before, umaabot ng 40K. Ngayon 22- 25K nalang :)

I'm not from Panasonic ha, talagang natuwa lang kami.
