It is not wrong to pray. Kaso I think the dilemma of cheated wives is aasa pa ba sila or do they have to move on?  The reason why we have saints and martyrs is because they have this outstanding ability to endure pain and suffering for so long as they can.  Kaso hindi lahat capable nito - may iba nag-aadjust by committing suicide or nasisiraan ng bait or nagkakaron ng sayad by believing that God can give miracles while they succumb themselves to unending suffering.  We also do not want this.  We need to spare each and every person of pain.

^ms. Girltalker who is your God really? My God is a God of hope. My God is in control of everything. My God is not dead. He is alive and He knows what is happening in my life. My God is the one who gave me peace and joy in the midst of suffering, pain and trials.

Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Those that cannot endure the trials that life gave them are those people who do not have Jesus in their life.

So kung umasa ka, here goes the cycle of disappointments, being delusional and all.  So for a cheated wife to keep herself sane, she has to move out from the situation.  She cannot just commit the "sin of omission" by consenting to the wrongdoings of her husband.  She also has live a normal life, earn a decent living, provide a safe living environment for the sake of her son.

What is sin of omission by the way? I'm not a Catholic.

I don't know who Lori is pero I really don't understand why women is always to blame in relationships.

She is not blaming all women. She is just saying few realize that they are the one keeping their marriage from all these wonderful things. A woman is also responsible for her part in the marriage. If you would just read the marriage thread eh ang babae dito puro reklamo sa mga asawa nila. They are blaming the men for their marriage.

Yes, no nagging. Pero a marriage involves 2 people. You cannot just have one person in control ALL the time. Baka wala silang makain nyan.

Our God is a God of order. He created marriage. So he mandated order in marriage. He gave the head to the husband. That doesn't mean that woman is inferior. The woman has another role. She is to submit to him and respect him. She is to be the nurturer of the family. She has a very important role also. One man blogger said that for a man to be a man you need to give him authority and responsibility. You should not cut him in the knees and give him only responsibility he will become a slave or authority only he will become a tyrant. Give him both authority and responsibility and he will become a man. Nowadays women are doing it all, being very efficient that they are emasculating and infantilizing the men in their lives. If your husband is "lasenggo" then ask yourself what are your contribution to his behavior? A man will not become "lasenggo" in an instant. Sometimes it became a habit of him to suppress his pain or because he is feeling worthless because his wife is doing it all and treating him like dirt.

I don't think husbands should be controlled.  Kaya nga may tinatawag na free will. Kaso this free will is practiced by both husband and wife. They are 2 individuals na bumubuhay ng pamilya so both should be equally respected.

Actually in marriage the wife more often than not wants to control her husband. This is my greatest battle actually. Control. God would always convict me of my controlling attitude towards my husband. I grew up in a very feministic environment where women reigns and controls so this is always where I'm learning most. To be submissive and respectful. I agree that both should respect each other but actually the exhortation to respect is given to the wife. I think husband know how to respect because that is the language of men. And again they may be 2 individuals na bumubuhay ng pamilya pero sa marriage may order. Ang lalaking asawa ang head. That is the God given role for husbands.

This is BS.

That is for women in general, not just for women who were cheated on by wives. I hope you don't mind me saying this.

Sorry sis Langley, I cannot help but react, kasi sobrang opposite ito in what I believe.  Don't get me wrong. It is always best to honor your husband, that is, if he respects you.

It's okay Ms. Girltalker I know that most will not agree with my point of view. But I will always believe in marriage. I will always believe in God that He can restore people and marriages.
Anyway if you just honor your husband because he respects you then your love is conditional. Haven't we said for better or for worse? Till death do us part?

About bitterness. It's ok, you are entitled to what you think naman.  I have moved on.

Pero are you saying if a wife is battered, she deserves it kasi hindi sya maayos na wife?  Parang no one deserves that naman.

No. No one deserves to be battered either wife or husband.
Physical abuse is a no, no. If your husband is physically abusive then you should call the police and have him sent to jail.

But I think there are very few men who are physically abusive to their wives. But there are some instances that a wife provokes a husband's anger. They are fight or flight. A wife should also be responsible to her own actions. Wag laging sisi sa asawa.

NO. NO one deserves to be physically or emotionally abused for whatever reason. Know your worth, your rights, RA 9262. And whatever happened to the fruit of the Spirit: Self-Control?

It's ok to turn a blind eye to say that "few" men are physically abusive, but try empathy as well to the women who have been there. No offense.

^You are right ms. maiandra no one deserves to be abused physically.

You are right that there are some inherently evil men out there that hurts women without any reason.

I agree that those men should be put to jail.

But they are very few.

If you are a battered wife then I believe you can only find healing with our Lord Jesus Christ. He will be the one who can free the battered wife from bitterness, anger, resentment and unforgiveness.

About the fruit of the spirit: self-control. A person will receive this and the other fruits (love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness) after he received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. This fruits doesn't come from our self but from Jesus Christ.

Now if a wife has self-control she will not provoke her husband to anger. She will control herself, control her tongue. We know that us women, our most lethal weapon is our tongue. We can injure our husband's very fragile ego with our words alone.

"Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior.  Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wived should submit everything to their husbands.."

The wife is called to submit, yes, BUT submit to a guy who would willingly give his life to her, like Christ and the church. Meaning, every decision the husband makes as the head of the family is primarily for the good of the wife just as Jesus gave his life to us,so does the wife treat the husband who in turn dedicates his life to the wife. So may ikot yan. Nagiging problema kasi sa application nyan in real life, if one party doesn't cooperate, or let's say one hand doesn't clap, the clap becomes a slap. Pasensya na, naging bible study na tayo dito.

sis this is Ephesians 5:22-23
if you will notice sis it is said that "wives should submit to their husbands in EVERYTHING" (Of course a wife should not submit to sin)

It is not said there that wives submit only if your husbands will lay your life for you.

You submit to your husband because that is what God says.

As what Elizabeth Elliot said:
"I don't submit to my husband because I want to. I don't want to.
I don't submit to my husband because I like to. I don't like to.
I don't submit to my husband because it make me feel good. It doesn't make me feel good.
I submit to my husband because the Scriptures command me to.
I do it out of OBEDIENCE TO CHRIST"

We are wives here so we should focus on our roles not on our husband roles.

Yung kasunod, this part:
"Husbands, love your wives,as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her...."

"Love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself".

^. I agree.  How can a man demand submission, or expect love and loyalty if he does not deserve such?  Love begets love.

GIRLTALKER2, I agree with you that the wife is not the sole reason for a husband to act badly.   .
Sh1t happens even to undeserving wives.
How can a wife respect, submit to, &  love a husband who is, well -- not Christ-like in his actions?

God, I believe, is all-knowing, forever understanding & forever forgiving.
He will know if a wife really needed to walk out, for everybody's best interest.  He will  understand, and forgive, IMO.

Tama ka, GIRLTALKER2 -- there are instances when all you can do is stop crying; you can't smile anymore due to heartbreaks.  It is but human to experience such times.

Btw,  a confessor-priest at St.Patrick's Cathedral in NYC  says:   You do not have to live with a husband who is abusive &/or a philanderer.  God will want you to walk away from a sinner.
Also: God  helps those who help themselves.

^Totay agree!! Also with Evilwoman and Girltalker2

Plus I do not think God nor Jesus will be pleased if He sees a wife who has misplaced her undying love and devotion to an underserving husband, who DOESN'T hold the same principles as that of an ideal God-loving person, who does not see her the way she sees him - a child of God.

IMO a marriage that is centered around the ideal priciples that a wife should possess according to the Bible, can only be successful IF and only IF the husband also does his part to be a God-loving person too, who has the same objective in marriage as that of the wife, that is in-line with the teachings in the Bible. Alangan namang one way street lang yan. He has to WANT to be that too..it can't be forced.

sis, kahit evilwoman ang nick mo here, obvious na you read the bible.  ;D  I agree that you should not follow the bible blindly. But rather interpret it pragmatically on how it is being applied.

sis this is Ephesians 5:22-23
if you will notice sis it is said that "wives should submit to their husbands in EVERYTHING" (Of course a wife should not submit to sin)

Siguro this is where we do not see eye to eye.  But your opinion is your opinion and mine is different. You cannot follow everything blindly.  Like what you have said, you should send your husband to jail kung binubugbug ka.  Pero you see, if the laws of your country are flawed, like sa Pinas, aabutin ng 10 years or so just for your hubby to be convicted, and during the time na inaantay mo ang kaso, he can be bailed out muna. Kung may sayad pa ang asawa mo, tingin mo di ka mapatay ng di oras before mo man lang makita ang justice?

Somehow you should know to play your cards din. Again, on what is applicable or not in our current world/environment.  Bakit sa tingin mo the pope is evaluating/preaching now the church' stand on LGBT's.  Kasi naniniwala sila na times have changed, and somehow some of the interpretation of the doctrines should also be interpreted differently.

Siguro you are lucky enough to be a good wife, and also having a good husband.  You do not have to endure a partner who have such skewed personalities.  But if your church teachings is that way, and applicable naman sa inyong mag asawa, at masayang masaya kayo as a couple, then ok na iyan.  But for others who are not in the same shoes, hinding hindi sya matatanggap especially if your life with your partner is hell.

"Love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself".

If you will notice sis the admonition is first to the wife. Wives submit yourself to your husband as unto the Lord. You submit to your husband not because he demands it, no man can demand submission. Submission is given freely by the wife because she obeys God. Obedience. It's either you obey God or you disobey. You cannot interpret the Bible in your own liking.

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

You cannot follow everything blindly.

I am not following my God blindly ms. Girltalker. I am following my God by faith.

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

Somehow you should know to play your cards din.

I do not need to play my cards. I have entrusted everything to God (my life, my marriage, my children) I do not need to worry because God will never ever leave me or forsake me. Whatever happens in my life, in every circumstances I know He is there. He is in control of everything.

Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Isaiah 40:28-31
Do you not know?
    Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
    and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Bakit sa tingin mo the pope is evaluating/preaching now the church' stand on LGBT's.  Kasi naniniwala sila na times have changed, and somehow some of the interpretation of the doctrines should also be interpreted differently.

Times may have changed but the word of God will never, ever change. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Changing societies do not dictate God's standards. So when He said in His word that wives submit to their husbands, then you wives should submit to your husbands, It's out of obedience to God. It either we obey God or we disobey. It's either you're living by faith or you're living out of the will of God.

Out of my respect for my husband I will not share anything about our marriage nowadays here. But it's under trial again, but with the grace of God nalalagpasan namin. Truly God is good. In this season of my life ang dami niyang nire-reveal sa'kin. Through the trials I'm experiencing I'm becoming closer to him. I have joy, I have peace that yes, transcends understanding and it's all because of Jesus, my God, my savior, my friend, my comforter, my provider, my everything.

Romans 5:3-5
Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

James 1:12
Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

I pray and hope that all sister here (especially those who are in a hurting marriage and those who still harbor bitterness through their husbands who hurt them) will also find in their hearts Jesus, our Lord and Savior. I promise you, He will change your life.

What if your blessings come through raindrops?
What if your healing comes through tears?
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You're near?
What if my greatest disappointments or the aching of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can't satisfy?
What if the trials of this life ~ the rain, the storms, the hardest nights ~
Are YOUR mercies in disguise?

i agree. before you follow your husband be sure na madasalin rin siya and asks for discernment/spiritual direction from God sa kahit anung important desisyon. if not, patay kang bata ka! you might be creating your own storm tapos akala mo e 'trials' na ibinigay ni God yun for you.
