Children with ADHD
« on: April 08, 2013, 08:20:35 pm »

hi sis! tama si sis hon3ykow, have your child see a developmental pedia muna. I have a 7yo dau with ADHD. she was unofficially diagnosed when she was 3yo. she also started going to OT and SPED schools since then. pero alam mo sis, lahat talaga ng bata dumadaan sa phase ng adhd. according to her dev-pedia, children will be officially diagnosed when they turn 7 at super hyper pa rin sila at hindi pa rin mapa behave (like in my dau's case), kaya nga when she turned 7, her dev-pedia officially said na it's adhd and she has to start taking anti-adhd meds na.

:( the first time na tinanong ko, my goodness gusto ko tumambling sa mercury drug!  :o

With ADHD, kids can either be:
a. Hyperactive (malikot)
b. Inattentive (kulang sa focus)
c. Combination of hyperactive and inattentive (most common)

@imagodei082990:
Does your child have a regular pediatrician? If yes, have you discussed your concerns with her/him? What is your pedia's assessment?
Does she go to school already? If yes, ask the teachers regarding her behavior in school. Is she able to finish table top activities without much fidgeting or standing up? How is she with other kids?
I suggest you have your child checked by a developmental pediatrician as soon as possible. Set an appointment already since it takes months before the child is actually seen and assessed. The earlier you start OT, the better for your child.
Also, lessen the use of gadgets, watching tv, etc.

@imagodei082990
Try to ask your pedia for a referral to a dev ped na kakilala niya para masked mo na for assessment. There is nothing wrong with getting a developmental assessment at your child's age. If therapy will be needed, at least matutulungan din siya to get ready for school such as in increasing her attention skills, focus pati sitting down.

@myjoy:
Kids that age are really active since they are trying to explore the world around them. Try to limit use of tv and gadgets if you want to lessen the risks of your baby being hyperactive. Hindi pa kasi talaga dapat nagttv and nag-gagadgets ang babies less than 2 years old since it lessens their attention span and it may cause hyperactivity and speech delay. If the speech delay is a concern, you can have your pedia refer you to a dev ped as early as now since it takes months naman before the child is seen. If mawala ang delay and mag-improve siya prior to the appointment, then pwede mo naman iforego ang slot or go pa rin for consult for a regular developmental assessment.

may mga clinics na tumatanggap ng patients kahit na walang endorsement ng dev ped kasi ang dahilan nila if it's causing an issue then it should be addressed. But in these cases you should know kung ano ang gusto mo dahil if you ask them their answer will be go to a dev ped.

Finally! My thought on ADHD has been proven : IT IS A FICTITOUS DISEASE.
Kids are kids and doctors have found a way to capitalize on kids' extremely hyper (yet normal) attitude.

thank you po doc lelet!
i'm changing his schedule now..dati kasi talagang nakatutok sya sa tv at nakakatapos ng mga cartoons. natutuwa kami nung una kasi parang naiintindihan nya talaga yung mga pinapanood nya dahil tama yung mga reactions nya. but since mabasa ko tong thread na to, i have minimized his tv time na. minsan talagang wala for the whole day. akala namin maganda ang attention span nya kasi nakakatapos sya ng movies na lamost 2 hours ang haba.
i do talk to him sa lahat ng ginagawa namin and itinuturo ko yung mga common na bagay na nakikita at ginagamit nya.
i also have books and flash cards na binabasa namin everyday. i change the things we do kasi madali syang magsawa pag paulit ulit yung ginagawa.
he's starting to let me know now what he wants by tugging me. pero hindi sya nagpo point...kinukuha nya yung kamay ko at nilalagay nya kung saan yung gusto nyang gawin ko.
will look for a good dev ped or ask our pedia. pero baka po may maibibigay kayo na magaling na dev ped? we are in antipolo.
thank you po again!  :-*

^not so very long time ago kung kelan nag-uumpisa pa lang yang mga ganyang sakit sabi ng officemate ko. Ang pagiging hyperactive ng bata is due to sweets like nowadays mga binibili nating mga snacks they don't use sugar but magic sugar na super tamis, tapos nasasamahan pa ng pagiging [textspeak!] dahil ang parents eh laging busy at naiiwan sa mga maids or yaya ang bata. I would say use your intuition pa rin.

My son has been confined for about 1 week and then paglabas namin ng hospital ayaw niya dumede ng gatas. In span of 24 hrs he would only drink 5oz milk. So I got really worried. So kahit medyo worried ako I kind of felt good kasi I was thinking na yung milk talaga is malaking factor kung bakit nagiging hyper ang bata. Less milk= less sugar= less hyper. Just my conclusion.

Tapos eto pa yung nabasa ko nun last week. I agree with sis themistymom.. i knod of feel this way din before.
*******
(NaturalNews) The diagnosis of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a total scam designed by the psychiatric profession in order to sell the need for "treatment" and drugs. Now, don't get me wrong, there are plenty of children (and adults) suffering with concentration or behavioral issues. But, do we really need toxic drugs to solve the problem?

On the next NaturalNews Talk Hour - Jonathan Landsman and Dr. Edward Group talk about how to protect our kids from (falsely) being accused of "mental disorders" and forced to take mind-altering medications. Learn how to naturally detoxify your body and avoid harmful (ineffective) drugs.

Psychiatry wants you to know that normal human emotions and behavior are abnormal

This may sound a little harsh - for those "first time" readers - but it's true. The reality is ADHD was created out of thin air by a small committee of mental health "experts". There's no blood test or brain scan to justify their diagnosis. Simply put, if you're feeling a little anxious or depressed - psychiatry says it's time to drug you back to health.

Sadly, many parents allow their children to be labeled with ADHD before looking at the underlying cause for behavioral issues. Think about it - it's a "radical" idea to suggest that children can improve their health by changing the way they eat. Maybe, at the risk of being called "crazy", we should help our kids avoid chemicals and help them clean out their digestive system.

Natural ways to avoid toxic drugs and eliminate ADHD

It may be as simple as cleaning up the immediate environment of your child. Get fresh (clean) spring water. Avoid gluten; dairy and overly-processed, sugary foods. Leaky gut syndrome can cause autoimmune dysfunction and create tremendous difficulties in brain performance.

If your child has mercury-based fillings - get them out for a healthier brain. Treat yourself (if you can) to a decent, household air purifier. I personally use an IQ Air GC unit and I love it. There are many other detoxification tips available in Dr. Group's book, "The Green Body Cleanse". I strongly recommend it.

Dr. Group reminds us, "there are many medical, biological, emotional and mental conditions that mimic ADHD." Don't miss Dr. Group and Jonathan Landsman, on the next NaturalNews Talk Hour, for an informative show about ADHD solutions + a very special gift for every listener.
