Dress Code at wedding
« on: April 03, 2013, 12:57:21 pm »
Hi sisses! ask ko lang anong preferred nyong dress codes for your wedding?

Do you prefer formal dress codes as in black tie / long gowns? or the cocktail ones? ako i prefer cocktail lang for my guests.. para kahit gaano kaganda suot nila magstand out pa din ang bride.. hahaha! thou mas classy ang black tie code.. feeling prom or papuntang oscars ang mga tao.. :P

Singit ko na rin dito.. i recently got a wedding invite from a june bride (tagaytay yung venue) saying na ang dress code nya ay evening dress? does this mean long gown?

Cocktail for me. But it depends sa location and weather. Parang ewan naman kung summer tapos naka-long gown. :)

Usually evening dress is long gown.

cocktail na ang trend so far sa mga naatenan ko na wedding. i think mas madali kasi maghanap ng ganitong damit because not everyone is willing to spend for an evening gown  :P

Hi sisters. Cocktail dresses (semi-formal) rin ang peg ko for my wedding guests, para mas kumportable sila. lalo pa hindi naman air conditioned yung church and 2pm yung wedding namin. :)

ok thanks sis! Yun nga din naisip ko.. Long gown.. Kasi ang dress code per invitation e: evening dress daw and coat and tie.. :) kaya lang when I looked at the venue, parang garden sya..

Hehe! At tsaka baka mas bongga pa ang gown nila sa bride mismo or abays mo.. Hahaha!

Sisteret,

Eto yung nilagay namin sa invitation and website :-)

Dress Code is SEMI-FORMAL or Smart Casual
Strictly NO wearing of short pants, maong (blue/faded) pants and slippers PLEASE.
Guests are free to wear any colors of their choosing.

We prefer the ladies to be in cocktail dresses or dress pants/slacks and heels. And since one of my favorite color is BLACK and I can't wear it on my special day...by all means ladies please feel free to wear it :-)

We prefer the gents to be in slacks or BLACK jeans, short or long sleeved polo and leather shoes.
Barong would be nice too! :-)

during our wedding, we indicated strictly formal. long gown or cocktail dress for women and suit or barong for men. knowing how our crowd is, some dressed down in long sleeves and slacks lang but generally happy that everyone is well dressed.

no matter how OA the clothes of the guests are the bride will always shine when she is glowing and happy because the love and happiness will radiate. :)

Thinking of having the same in our wedding. Strictly formal. You have invested time, effort and of course money for your wedding day, syempre ang guests dapat ganun din.

Mga sis, how do I indicated in the invitation that strictly formal means long gown or cocktail dress for women, suit/barong/or semi-casual attires for men. Medyo matitigas ulo kasi ng family ni hubby, minsan di daw talaga susunod sa dress code.  :-\

Ako din I want to put strictly formal, after all it is our day pinaghirapan namin yun, the least the guest could do is to attend abiding by our rules. ;)

Ours is strictly formal din. Long gown/cocktail dress for ladies and barong/coat and tie for men.
We spent a lot of time preparing for a nice weding so sana naman our guests could comply sa attire. Parang respect na rin for us as a couple =)

No. Though the rules have relaxed a bit, to be on the safe side, avoid white, black and red. Personally, I also avoid the wedding's color scheme. But white (or cream & beige) for me is the biggest no-no because it sends the message that one is trying to upstage the bride. To be absolutely sure, you can always check with the bride naman :)

Agree, uness the bride told guests to wear white, reserve that color for the bride. I had a beach reception and I specifically said no white for ladies. There are so many light colors for the beach naman. :)

Strictly formal hahaha at dahil masungit ako alam kong susunod sila lahat (ay sa side ko lang pala) wala prob sa side ni fiance kasi sanay sila sa formal gathering. No white and black for ladies.

Cocktail dress lang sinusuot ko pag umaattend ako ng weddings. Usually dark colors like blue, green, purple.
No white or black.

Ours might be semi formal lang. Our reception venue is literally just our backyard in our weekend home in the probinsya. Garden type. So I'm a little iffy about making it strictly formal. And I don't want to specify so many dress code rules. I just want to say semi formal. BUT I do want to advise guests to wear comfy shoes since it's a garden and mahirap mag stilletos. So the most I'll probably say is "Dress code: semi formal" and "Please be advised the reception will be held in a garden, so please wear appropriate shoes." Or basta something less word-y.
