"Why Men Marry Bitches"
« on: April 03, 2013, 11:29:17 am »
Okay, so I just started reading this book "Why Men Marry Bicthes" and I know this topic could also be under the books section but I just thought of sharing some of the dating points I've learned from the book, since it basically talks about dating & courting rin naman. Initially I wanted to read the author's first book "Why Men Love Bitches" since I'm not yet in the stage of marrying someone but they didnt have it in iBook, so I just bought this. But it still talks about how you can capture a man's heart!

Some of the points I've read (I haven't finished the book yet):
1. A happy woman is sexy - The book is everythng about confident woman. Someone who has backbone and living her own life to the fullest and this is not all about physical appearance. In fact, most guys find the "perfect looking" girl very short-term and boring. Be a girl who has something inside and not all about physical beauty. Also, men think that if you are happy with your life without him, it is less pressure for him and find you attractive.

2. Don't always be a "Yes" girl - girls who always think about pleasing guys are boring. Most women think that it is our job to please men but in fact, men love to do that for you. If he feels like he is pleasing you that's an ego-booster for him and at the same time your worth will go up.

3. Don't mention to him the word "commitment" - for guys that is an allergy word! Don't say it first if you don't want your guy to walk away from you. Let him be the one to open that to you because rushing him to be with you makes him think that you are insecure in your life and you just want him to fill that spot, so No-No. Be patient and he will start feeling "why is she not asking me to be with her?", thus making him to think about you more and put some effort on you.

4. Men loves to get something they work hard for - it is guy's nature. So don't be an easy girl and let him put more effort on you then there will be higher probability that you will have a long term relationship.

5. Don't show too much skin - So we all know guys love naked woman lol but they don't want girl who exposes skin to everyone! They want some exclusivity for themselves so if you are going on a date, try to show just enough skin to make him wonder about you.

6. Don't sell sex to him - if you do, you will just be his short-term playmate. If he could get you easily, guys think you are also like that to every guy you meet. If he really likes you, he will appreciate you even with just simple acompany.

Okay, this is already a long post and I haven't finished the book but I hope I was able to help some girls/women out there (including myself)  who are confused sometimes when it comes to dating by sharing those points. I think the book is really funny and interesting! It also made me realize a lot of things from my previous experiences lol

Sa mga sis who already read this book please share you thoughts here too! Or kahit sa mga hindi parin nakakabasa rin what do you think of all those points I shared? :)) Any points from guys rin?

It is a general book. But I think, dipende pa rin sa ugali ng guy. It may or may not work for him. But it's a good read din, and will make you feel so confident!  ;)

What I learned from reading this book is that it's okay to be a b**** sometimes. Dati kasi masyado akong mabait sa relationships ko. Masyadong mapag-bigay at martyr. Parang wake-up call sakin yung book in a way na na-point out niya yung mga maling ginagawa ko sa mga past relationships ko. Na dapat you focus on yourself and not worry about your significant other. For example, kung pinepressure ka ng bf mo to have sex to "prove" na mahal mo siya... don't say yes just because you don't want him to leave you. Grow some back bone and tell him "NO". Dalawa lang ang outcome niyan. Your boyfriend will come to respect you and love you more.  Or if not at tinotoo ngang iwan ka, then good riddance to him! You are better off without him!

Actually, oo, parang totoo nga yung nabasa ko dito. Being a bitchesa sometimes works, dipende siguro how you will execute para classy pa rin tingnan. So I tried it recently, haha! It worked like a charm! It's about parang how you will get the guy to commit without you asking for it. I forgot the chapter, but yeah, ginawa ko siya. Eto, naghahanap na siya ng bahay na uupahan namin  ;D

I'm glad with all of the comments posted above :) I've actually read the author's first book too "Why Men Love Bitches" and most of them are talking about the same thing rin nanamn sa second book niya. It was also a wake-up call from me after I read this book, so I do really recommend it.

I stopped contacting with the guy I'm kind of seeing for a month and I thought wala na talaga and he was just that kind of guy and was about to let go when he messaged me saying how much he misses me :P siempre I talk to him parin naman pero I think now he appreciates me more :)

para saken mas effective yung Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man. the book was written by Steve Harvey. mas okay sya kasi talagang from a man's perspective ang malalaman mo. nung natapos ko siyang basahin nasabi ko "kaya pala."  :D  I broke up with my boyfriend after I finished reading the book. 1 month mahigit pa lang kami nun and wala pang nangyayari sa amin which was a good thing for me. sobrang thankful ako nun kasi hindi ako bumigay agad even there were times na gustong gusto ko na mag give in. I was the other woman pero hindi pa naman sila kasal. pero nakunsensya ako kasi nga babae din naman ako at naloko na rin. kaya hiniwalayan ko siya.

I just accidentally found this book sa NBS, walang plastic cover so I browsed. nahagip ng mata ko yung section na "Why Men Cheat". saktong nakita nya akong nagbabasa and he was trying to discourage me to buy the book. hindi raw kasi maganda. yun pala alam nya yung laman. hahaha!

nung naghiwalay kami nakipag-usap sya sa gf nya at naghiwalay din sila at bumalik sya sakin. after 1 month of their break up nagpakasal si girl. turns out nauna pala yung babae magloko.

I took him back and now we've been together for 5 strong years. 2 years na kaming kasal.  ;D

Steve Harvey has a second book na applicable din kahit di pa kayo kasal. Straight Talk, No Chaser: How to find, keep and understand a man. ladies, I strongly suggest you read these two books. sobrang makakatulong sa relationships nyo at pag kinasal na kayo.  ;D

^sis after mo nirecommend itong 2 book na ito, nag dl ako agad and natapos ko pareho sa loob ng isang linggo lang. 😄

Very effective for me yang mga books na yan. Also read the rules / not your mother's rules.

Ayun dating for 4 months, officially mag bf/gf for a month na.

Bottomline is dapat mahal mo at mataas ang respeto mo sa sarili mo para ganun ka din i treat ng partner mo. My bf would always compliment me na i'm different from the majority, and ramdam ko na mataas nga ang respeto nya sakin. Kung dati hopia lang na sabihin ng boylet na mahal niya ako, eto ako ngayon - haba ng hair!

Nabasa ko din yan. Haha. When a close friend got heartbroken she started reading all these relationship and self-help books for women and showed me the reading list.

Practical naman yung advice. Actually yung iba nga diyan alam na natin e di ba, siguro kelangan lang ulit mabasa as a realization. Don't be afraid to say "no" and live your own life pa din.

I strongly recommend reading these 2 books: Why Men Marry Bitches & Act Like A Woman, Think Like A Man. So helpful. Every item in the 2nd book has been confirmed by my fiance, well except for the cheating part as he is a one-woman man. I also wanted my friends to read these books to help them get back on track. Will download that 2nd Steve Harvey book too.

This is my bible, besides Etiquette For Mistresses. Take note, I am neither a mistress nor a “b****,” ha. But I believe these books are not so much about dating or relationships, but rather how to have a backbone. If you read between the lines, the book teaches self-love and self-respect rather than charming and seducing men. After all, if you do not love and respect yourself, how can you realistically expect a man to love and respect you? Work on your relationship with yourself before you work on your relationship with others. Sherry Argov’s books teach us how to do just that.
